If Oregon pulls this game out and Dixon ISN'T done for the year, they aren't going to drop.
-
Spoke to soon. Yes, yes indeed I did.
-
Disgusting.

Looks like Dennis Dixon's knee is okay.

Yikes, more A-Rod. I guess it was foolish of me to expect a turn to a new style of Yankee team, but hey... I'm not gonna complain too much about the possible return of one of the greats.

Did you even read all that stuff above the part you bolded? Because it does a pretty good job of explaining his thinking. Your argument is like watching the last 20 minutes of Star Wars and getting mad because "Who the fuck is this huge black robot with the Mufasa voice?"

Yeah, that sounds stupid at first, but it could have just been a mother who was buying a CD for her kid and the kid told her "Get me the CD with the Vans song on it!" -
Oh come on, its like giving a retarded baby a steak knife.

Politicians are shifty chameleons who tell their audience what they want to hear, period. You're facing a bunch of paranoid rednecks? Tell 'em you don't cotton to the guvment tresspassin on they property. It's a standard political speech tactic, and I don't see how it indicates anything other than Reagan just being an average suit. Considering what we know about Reagan's memory, or almost complete lack thereof, so what if it was debunked? Dude probably couldn't remember his own name on some days. That's being senile, not racist. Especially since he never specified that the woman was supposed to be black, did he? Firstly, provide some sources that he did use the phrase in the South but not in the North. Secondly, it's bullshit anyway, I've lived in the South my whole life and heard a whole rainbow of interesting denigrative terms for black people, but "young buck" means nothing to me in racial terms except for being that one rapper's name. What were they fired for? More backstory needs to be provided here. As it stands, it sounds kinda like insisting that a particular cop is racist because he's arrested three black guys. See, THOSE are excellent, hard-to-defend points which really do make the former Prez look like the type of man to say "darkie" and mean it. They shouldn't be barely covered in just two sentences and buried near but not at the bottom of the story, the blind spot of journalism which many people tend to skip. Yeah... whether or not you've heard it "buck" is (or at least was) a term used to describe a strapping young black man. It was a typecast in Hollywood for a long time. I'm sure its fallen into disuse, but Reagan was old as fuck. Also, don't be so quick to attribute the Cadillac Queen thing to Reagan being senile, this wasn't 1995 Ronald Reagan, it was 1980 Road to the Presidency Reagan.

How? Studios have shows ready to go that doesn't need writers. Yeah some networks are going to be better off than others, but the writers can't do anything but independent projects, and those don't generally get them THAT much money. They'll fold first before studios would. Yeah, but those shows don't bring in the same money that written shows do. And where did you read the Office fired people today? Plus, most reality shows have some kind of writer. You're going to see a dip in quality, there, too. Theres also the law of diminishing returns - you can't keep running game shows and reality TV at people. Everyone I talk to when I'm performing are down with the writers in a big way. Theres a real sense of camraderie. I joked earlier about going to picket just to network, but I've come pretty close to driving down and picking up a sign (as ultimately pointless as it is) and I'm not even a WGA member, just down with the cause.

I like Bill Simmons when he isn't talking about Boston. ...

So now the Ducks move into the dreaded BCS #2 spot.

Wishful thinking, huh. Yeah, Bush is bad, but people who think he's the worst have very limited (to no) historical context. Just about all of the Presidents immediately preceding the Civil War (and following it, if you consider Johnson & Grant) were a great deal worse. oh, and fwiw I think Truman was a better prez than FDR. Speaking of historical context, surely you know that the Presidents before and after the Civil War were handed considerably poorer circumstances than George W. Bush. I'm not saying any of those guys were better than Bush, but I'd rather handle 9/11 than a Civil War.

I wouldn't call 15 points that comfortable of a lead unless there are like 4 mins left. Especialy when playing against Gilbert Arenas. I feel that when you get a lead by playing your offense, you continue to play your offense. You know when else it isn't a good lead? When you're playing the Lakers in the Western Conference Finals, and the Lakers still have Kobe and Shaq. And at some point Shaq throws down an alley-oop. Fuckers.

Don't go making blanket statements about Yankee fans. Racist.
-
I thought about doing that for just that reason. Sometimes you gotta hustle.

I wouldnt boo A-Rod myself, but I really think hes going to hear it when he returns to the Bronx. The type of people who boo athletes aren't thinking "Well, he played great for us, and while I wish he would have stayed, I understand the need to get out there and explore the market." They're going to be thinking "$350 million? Fuck you! Boo!"

I havn't heard any arguments from the producer's viewpoint yet, which I think is pretty interesting. Nothing like "we're the only ones who risk any real financial loss if a show fails" or anything like that. All I've heard from the producers is "No. You can't have any more residuals. They're ours."

Don't look now, but the New England Revolution are in the MLS Cup for the 3rd straight year. Can't this be used against the common Boston sports fan, as soccer is a "wicked faggy" sport?

I was under the impression that only white people who are trying too hard go to Wu-Tang Clan concerts. I still am under the impression that people who tell people they're trying too hard if they profess to enjoy a certain band or style of music are, themselves, trying too hard. Furthermore, I find people who tell people they're trying too hard for telling people they think are trying too hard that they are trying too hard are also trying too hard.
