  1. My next pick is SS Michael Young
  2. Entering a league of this nature leads to some tough choices. There are some decent veterans on the board. Do I draft them or do I look at younger players who might make this team productive in the future. After all, this thing reeks of a rebuilding project. I will do my best. Round Two, I select Bobby Abreu. Here's a guy who provides 20/20 production. The one thing good about this position is that I can take the veterans early and the younger players with the 3rd/4th picks, giving me a better position when it comes to the keepers. Round Three I select Matt Cain, one of the best pitchers in baseball. If only the Giants gave him any run support. Round Four I select Jarrod Saltalamacchia.
  3. What are the positional requirements, like how many pitchers, position players, bench spots, etc.? I didn't see it on the front page. And I start with Alex Rodriguez on my team, correct?
  4. Post two is the full list of keepers? Give me a bit to figure out a draft strategy and who's available.
  5. You know what, I'll do it if Tony doesn't want it.
  6. What were the PECOTA projections on Abreu? Umm, what?
  7. I don't know if there was even much wrestling on television in the 1960s. A bunch would have never been recorded in the first place, much less taped over. There's films of Sammartino in the 60s, but rarely full matches.
  8. Nope. I actually heard Abreu to the Angels myself.
  9. "Presiding over this event, the Master Sausage Stuffer himself, the Genius." GOLD!!
  10. The All Drafted Past Round 40 Team C: Mike Piazza 1B: Keith Hernandez 2B: Eric Young SS: Julio Lugo 3B: Rob Mackowiak LF: Jeff Conine CF: Chad Curtis RF: Al Cowens SP: Bryn Smith SP: Darrell May SP: Brandon Duckworth SP: Paul Kilgus SP: Bobby M. Jones CL: Jason Isringhausen
  11. I would say that the questions never should have been asked in the first place. If you think a person used steroids, charge them properly in accordance with their fifth amendment rights.
  12. I certainly wish Congress had this same kind of zero tolerance when they were told about Iraq.
  13. This all really sickens me on some level. What if Congress started dragging us in, asking us if we knew of any drug use of our friends? Or any other crimes. And then when you don't up and confess, they send you to jail for perjury. This is some seriously draconian shit.
  14. They needed a voiceover because of the theme music, Hogan wasn't using "Real American" yet.
  15. With the dvd set coming out today, let's have a discussion thread! I think the big selling point of the series are the angles. The Megapowers, Savage and Elizabeth, etc. Some of the matches are very good though, and what's not good is mercifully short. Quick 'n' Dirty Ratings for Matches on Disc 1 Hogan v Orton ** Piper v Orndorff **3/4 Hogan v Funk **1/2 Mr T v Orton DUD Steamboat v Roberts *** Roberts v Savage *** Hogan v Orndorff ***1/2 Battle Royal *** Hart Foundation v Bulldogs **1/4 Honky v Savage *** Savage v Hitman **** Steamboat/Windham/Rotundo v Steele/Sheik/Volkoff ** The battle royal I felt was very good, with the other 18 going right for Hogan and Andre. It gave the match a real flow right from the start. Disc 2 Hogan v Bundy *1/2 Hogan v Andre DUD Savage v DiBiase ***1/2 Hogan v Race ** Savage v Andre *1/2 Warrior v Honky Tonk Man * Mega Powers v Twin Towers DUD I'll watch this again, but Hogan acting like an utter tool really dragged down any potential enjoyment. Hogan v BossMan **3/4 Rockers v Brainbusters **1/2 Dusty v BossMan ** Disc 3 Hogan/Warrior v Perfect/Genius **3/4 Hogan v Perfect **1/2 Rockers v Hart Foundation *** Perfect v Santana ***3/4 Battle Royal **1/2 Hart v Dibiase *** Hogan/Sid v Flair/Undertaker **1/2 Michaels v Bulldog *** Michaels v Shane * DX v Spirit Squad * Edge v Cena *1/2

  17. Oh for the love of Christ...
  18. That womens battle royal at Superclash III aired on Legacy last month, and it was awful. With David McClaine on commentary it came off incredibly sleazy.
  19. The SNME set features full matches.
  20. Ballpark. A lot of that can be explained simply by the hitting environment in Texas.
  21. I started watching in November of 1990. Right up my alley if they indeed start in Dec.
  22. McGwire's a separate category. Given the question, you can either admit, deny, or plead the fifth. Pleading the fifth is like denying, except then the government can't spend $50 million plus to put you in jail for three months because of it.
  23. Dawson also won four Gold Gloves as a center fielder, four more in right. Five of those seven players you listed made significant contributions on defense. Rice played left field in front of a short wall.
  24. And did Rodriguez ever lie? I don't recall him being asked the question, though I could be wrong. And no, he's not going to flat out admit something he hasn't been caught for. How many of you have walked into your local police station and confessed to speeding?
  25. Just look at how the media has treated Pettitte, Giambi etc. compared to Bonds and Clemens. That's why Rodriguez came out and admitted limited usage. It's the proper PR move.
