  1. KingPK already started a thread. Scroll down.
  2. He could do a latin-based followup featuring Carlos Delgado, Miguel Cabrera, Alex Gonzalez, and Luis Castillo. I fear the album will envelop controversy when he and Todd Jones sing a song bashing homosexuals.
  3. What the hell do the White Sox need more pitching for?
  4. For what it's worth, Carlos Ruiz is unbelieveably hot in Scranton right now, posting a .322/.366/.486 line after a slow start and an injury.
  5. Alvarez is a very nice prospect. I had a chance to see him pitch live in Scranton earlier this season. His ERA is high but all of his ratios are good, including his hits allowed. At 22, he's a very underrated player right now.
  6. http://sports.yahoo.com/box/news?slug=ap-h...ov=ap&type=lgns So Hopkins lost. For some reason, that sounds strange.
  7. I suggest searching for Wrestlemania 17 on ebay.
  8. There is none right now. That's the fun of watching the chase.
  9. A note on Palmeiro. I think the vast majority of writers will vote him in the Hall. There's just a vocal minority of idiots out there. As for Sox/Yankees, I honestly lost my interest in them, in some part because they are no longer the 1-2 teams in baseball. I think it is time to start pushing some new teams on television.
  10. If Palmeiro's current numbers do not satisfy Bayless, nothing will. Even McGriff was productive until his very last season with Tampa Bay. Players hanging around to collect milestones is often talked about, but the only obvious such player I've seen is Pete Rose,
  11. As soon as anyone can give me the name of a single pitcher with a 3.34 K/9 ratio who won 50 MLB games over the last 30 years or so, I will be happy to list Wang at the top. The only such pitcher I can find was Dan Quisenberry, who was a reliever and walked a third of the batters Wang walks.
  12. The main problem with the Skip Bayless article is that he wants to hold Rafael Palmeiro to a different standard than the standard of entrance into the Hall of Fame. It does not work that way. But I guess these arguments tend to happen when you select sportswriters based on obnoxiousness rather than their ability to effectively argue their point.
  13. As a Phillies' fan, I don't know what optimism is.
  14. Let's see the Yankees' depth chart... 1. Randy Johnson 2. Mike Mussina 3. Carl Pavano (DL) 4. Kevin Brown (DL) 5. Chien Ming Wang (DL) 6. Jaret Wright (DL) 7. Darrell May 8. Tim Redding 9. Tanyon Sturtze 10. Alex Graman Scary.
  15. You said that the Sox beating on Redding and May doesn't effect the Yankees' chances at the beginning. It does if they can't find SOMEONE who can pitch well enough to keep the Yankees in the game.
  16. Then I would say this DOES effect the Yankees' chance at winning the division.
  17. Do you guys honestly have better pitchers?
  18. Darrell May and Tim Redding combine for 3.2 IP, 10 H, 12 ER, 7 BBs. Meanwhile, Paul Quantrill has pitched 7.2 scoreless innings for the Padres over four games, striking out six and walking none. It's early, but I think the Padres may have won this trade.
  19. Just a reminder that the Orioles play Seattle tonight at 10pm. Rafael Palmeiro is sitting at 2,999 hits.
  20. Then my next question would be why have the years there at all?
  21. I'm not sure if it is the situation. I think there is some chance that Schilling is washed up as an elite pitcher.
  22. Why not just start a new topic?
  23. In all honesty though, how many bad teams draw well, without the benefit of new ballparks?
  24. I just got back from Binghamton. Hamels pitched extremely well, striking out eight and allowing one run through seven innings. If he remains healthy, he could be a real asset down the road.
  25. I'm headed up to see the Binghamton Mets face the Reading Phillies tonight. Cole Hamels is the scheduled starter for the Phillies.
