  1. Because it's the truth. And even that figure might be generous. That's open to debate, but a case can be made for them. And that has relevance, how? I think pretty much everyone knows how bad WWE is. And viable alternatives don't mean much if very few people know about them. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> So this figure is just invented then. ^o) Open to debate? Who else is viable on a prolonged basis please? Its relevant because at the end of the day, the product was, is and should always be wrestling and not sports entertainment. I find it very hard to overcome the what is sports entertainment arguement back home when im trying to defend wrestling as a professional sport. Granted, but it should be looked into to determine how more people can get to know about it. Wrestling is going through a 'recession'. But if marketed well, a product can still be sold in such times.
  2. Wish I didnt read the spoilers now.
  3. I wasnt fond of the SEX angle (was just like a cluster f to me with people debuting left right and centre) but I loved Destiny and the tag bouts you mentioned. Russo has been good to TNA both times. Siaki has dropped so low since then, I really like his feud with D'Lo too. With hindsight, the Hogan gig damaged TNA a lot. It was rightly portrayed as going to be huge and then was a nice start to it, but then the bottom fell out and TNA were in a mess. Funny that JJs reigns have played major roles in the favourite times of TNA.
  4. It happened at Slam. JJ was a naughty boy and the booking committee slapped his wrists by taking him out of the KotM match and lettin Raven win the title just to spite JJ. Because the "new talent" heading Jarrett's way will instead be at Vengeance. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It pains me to say this. But I think your right. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Is this some private joke between the 2 of you or a sign of loving affection? Would either of you care to explain, cause I didnt get it.
  5. What a true champion. Raven is without a doubt one of the greatest perfomers. I agree. When somebody disobeys an order of such magnitude, it is ground for instant dismissal. If they want him in bit projects, they might as well just get rid of the disgruntled "worker". It is extrmely childish on both sides and only hurts the product, but I begrudingly admit that JJ does have a point. Now dont flame me, I am not a JJ mark, but 'they' did build the title of KotM up a lot and wasted this build (but this is not surprising, since they are always guilty of this). Hear me out below. The wrong of the past is just that, in the past. It was a huge mistake not to put the belt on Raven and I agree that putting it on AJ was a quick fix. This, btw, IMHO, only hurts AJ, since they are making him look like Jericho now, i.e. a 'credible' ME who cant hold the belt. I believe that JJ should have gone over AJ, but do so cheaply in a screw job manner at Hard Justice. Book the KotM of Slam hyping the anniversay crap. Make it JJ-Brown-Abyss-AJ-Sean/Hardy --> JJ as champ, Brown is owed a favour, Abyss is number 1 contender, AJ was screwed (again) and Sean/Hardy could have argued that it was their kind of match (i.e. the 'specialist'). HAVE JJ WIN. Yes, have him win. This solidifies JJ as KotM. Ravens pissed that hes suspended. JJ manages to keep Brown off his back, and NOW build the chase destiny angle and do so properly. JJ uses Sean/Hardy or whoever (a PO Killings maybe? Booby Roode in a deal with Team Canada for a Title Shot? The boy is getting attention after all), Abyss and Brown as roadblocks. Then at B4G, have JJ-Raven II. Have JJ spout off how he is THE KotM and the destroyer of Raven's hopes and dreams. After that feed JJ to Brown and remove him from the ME. This way, the end result is the same, despite delayed, but Raven and Brown at least look stronger. I hate to admit it but Carnivaliz is right. It was stupid. A case of cutting their noses off to spite their faces. Although, a lack of TV made have forced into this rushed decision and TNA have always been known to panic and dont normally have long term plans in place. Im used to them dropping the ball so f it, but still, such wasted potenial. This only cheapens Raven's victory
  6. I like the way people say only 5% of the WWE's fanbase will know about ROH. ROH is the best promotion in the US. It is wrestling, not sports entertainment rubbish that is stuffed down people's throat. It really baffles me how people cant see how poor the WWE's product is and that more viable alternatives do exist.
  7. And this ''shows your blatant disrespect towards'' people. You understood me and that all that matters. Whats in a bloody name after all. Just because one types PPV instead of another word doesnt mean that the person "blatantly disrespects" the promotion. If you really want to know, I think that ROH is the future of preserving classical wrestling, thats why I can understand the current state of booking. If youve got a stick up your rear end, take it out on somebody else. Im just talking. I know what the letters PPV mean. And IMHO, when wrestler A calls wrestler B out, down the line, theres no avoiding the collision. By the confrontation itself, you are building up to something.
  8. Actually I do think the DDT is a great finisher, especially if its done well. It should be death, especially when they are dropped staright on their head liek Raven does it now. right now the only death moves are really takers tombstone and trips pedigree (though I have seen more people kick out of the pedigree than takers tombstone) The RKO is close, but it couldnt beat Taker at Mania (but it was enough for JBL to beat Taker last week go figure) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The E are portraying the Tista Bomb and FU as death at the moment.
  9. It would have been even lamer if Batista-HHH III was a normal match without a stipulation like their 1st 2 were. SD only has 3 draft picks left. I keep on hearing the same 5 people mentioned. 5 into 3 just doesnt go.
  10. O god, your nitpicking. Shows then. Call them whatever you want. Its not relevant to the thread.
  11. I think that is 1 of the reasons Bret is so well loved. He had a string of moves that he used to run through, so the fans knew what to expect, but there were enough points in the chain to reverse the tide.
  12. Huh? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Isnt this supposed to be Punks last PPV? And Daniels is facing Hardy according to this. Isnt Daniels being portrayed as ROHs saviour? :S
  13. Exposed them to what exactly? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I just have a bad gut feeling about how this will pan out. IMHO I feel as if ROH are losing out on a bit of ground, what with losing CMP, Am Drag and possibly seeing less of Joe. These were ROH staples. TNA can tie the screws in on AJ and Daniels. Despite the 2 fights with CMP and his degrading health, I cant help but feeling that this angle is rushed. If VKM does pump money into ROH it will be done so without consideration of the promotion or its fans, but what VKM can get out of it. Dont believe the bull shit that he spewed on RAW, when he was in the ring with Bischoff and Heyman. Hes a control freak. Dont be blind.
  14. Normally, a bad argument is based on bad points, so what your saying is a misnomener. Just pointing out possible side-effects, regardless of how remote they are. I dont agree with the booking. I would have preferred it if they would have done it the other way round. I am worried that it has possibly exposed ROH.
  15. And understand what your saying, but I say give the guy a chance, especially now that he has Mitchell with him (which I think personally was an excellent, even though obvious, move).
  16. Cut it out you two. CarnivalizComing vs Desperate Housewife is more than enough. I don't even think Kash is going to WWE, much less Trinity. Only way Trinity is going to make it to WWE is if she mysteriously shows up next week during the Raw Diva Search. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> There are supposed to be 8 finalists, but only 7 were introduced last RAW . . . Would make a welcome change from the current crap.
  17. Plus, TNA's roster is relatively on the large side.
  18. Actually, Abyss is the most deserving, since he has been shafted on so my times when it comes to a 1 on 1 shot. Let AJ finish his business with Sean. Let JJ be fed to Brown. Then Raven can face AJ. And then Brown can face JJ.
  19. Sorry for 'offending' your product boys and playing devils advocate.
  20. Shouldnt this be in the Other Promotions folder? And, out of curiousity, isnt that CMP's last PPV. Wasnt Daniels the main hope for taking the belt off him?
  21. I thinks shes refering to the thing that happened on NWO when Joy was picked as rookie diva of the year.
  22. They had started that on SD before Benjamin left, so that would be a good bit of continuity there. The E wouldnt notice that though. Regarding the midcard, you have to look after them regardless of who they are if you want to develop anything.
  23. I concur.
  24. Yeah and the Maivia kid right? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No, not "that Maivia kid". I've never thought the Rock was anywhere near Austin's league. I mentioned it in a long rant in another topic a while ago, but basically I don't think they're in the same calibre. The Rock was a huge star in his day, and at one point was bigger than Stone Cold, pre-WrestleMania X7. He's definitely one of the biggest stars in wrestling history but in terms of impact and longevity, I don't think the Rock's in the same breath as Stone Cold. The only one who has had anything close to the impact Hogan had is Stone Cold. Taker and the Rock and Shawn (for example) are and were huge stars, but non-wrestling fans have heard of Hogan and Stone Cold. IMO there's nobody touching those two in terms of wrestling impact. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think people will have heard about The Rock because of Hollywood and UT because of his longetivity. I agree that the UT would be less well known. I agree that it would be Hogan and then Stone Cold, followed by The Rock. A little gap between Hogan and Stone Cold but a larger one between SCSA and The Rock.
  25. I actually think that the 1st version of the Pedigree was ruthless. It would actually be my finisher, but Id go for the underhook, lift and then the drill aspect. Sorry for not asking for you permission, but jm29195 avatar is it. I think a lift would make it THE killer move.
