This is the first episode of this season that I've enjoyed. Whats going on with the plot holes though? I thought during the "Do the handicapped go to Hell?" episode, that Satan made peace with God? Also, with Kenny's family being so poor, where the hell did he get the $$$ for a PSP?

I've Been Out Of The Loop For A Few Years...
haws bah gawd replied to Jonathon's topic in The WWE Folder
1.What happened to Chris "harvard" nowinski? Is he still wrestling? Is he good? Didn't he get the concussion during a hardcore match with Tommy Dreamer? 2.Seriously, BRADSHAW is a main eventer?? When did this happen? Does he have legit heat? Can he draw? I don't buy JBL for one second as a credible champion, but I at least respect the guy. If given the right opponent, he can and will bust his ass all over the ring to put on a very entertaining brawl. 3. Who are the workhorses of the WWE brand now? Back then it was benoit/guerro/angle. They would completely outshine the rest of the roster, and benoit wasn't even a main eventer then. Paul London's skills are basically forcing WWE to recognize and push him. He has had several ****+ matches against Akio on Velocity, who is also an excellent cruiserweight as well. Benoit, Eddy, and Angle can still carry a broomstick to a *** match, and HBK along with the soon-returning Marty Jannety can still put on great matches. 4. Brock Lesnar quit, but is he back now? Thought I read something in a wrestling magazine... I believe Brock will be back sooner or later, but I think Vince is playing hardball with him at the moment. 5.Randy Orton- Face or Heel? AND Can he wrestle a match? Benoit carried Orton to 2 EXCELLENT matches this past Summer. Though it didnt have a clean finishb, the RAW rematch after Summerslam, IMO, was far away better than the Summerslam match, and worth tracking down. 6. Batista- Face or Heel? And can he wrestle a match? Batista is the fucking man. He can cut a respectable promo, and like everyone else has said, he is an excellent power wrestler, and does a great job of hiding his own weaknesses. 7. What became of the two Tough Enough winners? (they were both guys..) I think it was season 3? John Hennigan was Bischoff's apprentice on RAW for a while under the names Johnny Blaze (name dropped because of copyright infringment from Marvel Comics), Johnny Spade, and finally Johnny Nitro, complete with the old WCW Nitro theme for entrance music. He is probably returning soon as part of a tag team called MNM. Matt Capotelli was supposed to return sometime last year, and feud over the cruiserweight title, but Bob Holly gave him a concussion at an OVW show, and those plans went out the window. 8.Where is Vince Russo now? As stated before, he is a Born-Again Christian, and wants no part of the wrestling business. 9. Has Rob Van Dam done anything worthwhile in the past couple years? Or is he still doing 4 minute matches with Taijiri? RVD was pretty much just going through the motions in all his matches. Hopefully he gets a respectable push when he returns from the knee inury. 10. Gimme the top 4 wrestlers in each brand. "workrate"wise and "heat-wise". RAW Benoit Benjamin HBK Jericho Smackdown! Eddy Guerrero Rey Jr. Angle London/Akio 11. Any new guys on the scene that have absolutely BLOWN you guys away? While not necessarily new, but since they are finally being given a chance to shine, Shelton Benjamin, Paul London, and Akio are fantastic workers. 12. What are some of the biggest news items that has rocked the wrestling world (backstage-wise) in the past 2 years? One of the last things I remember was the infamous "Flight from hell" situation where Brock Lesnar and Mr Perfect almost killed the entire flight crew... Nothing that hasnt already been covered. -
It seems this topic has died, but I wanted to add one other point to anyone thinking of buying a replica belt. Out of the WCW belts I have, the strap feels EXTREMELY "gummy" on everything except the big gold. The strap on the big gold is far and away the best quality of any belt I own. Its not too thick, holds-up very well, and even smells like real leather as opposed to the other relica WCW belts. The straps on the WWE belts are a little on the thick-side, but look very good as well. The straps on the WWE belts have the WWE logo embossed along the edge of the strap, all the way around. The problem with the straps being a little too thick is that the material theyre made of tends to warp after a lot of handling.

Did I miss something, or was there no mention of the 2 kids who played Jesse and Rebecca's kids, Nicky and Alex?

I was reading the link to the review of the last Thunder, and this stuck out to me: The Good: The cruiserweights looked awesome once again. Pretty solid show up until the last match. The Bad: Fusient and AOL/Time Warner giving WCW fans false hope and then yanking it away. The Ugly: Vince McMahon will be the only major player in the wrestling game, at least for a month or so. I just hope he doesn't get his hands on WCW. My my my, how much can things change in a matter of days?
-
I honestly cant believe its been 4 years already. That was so unreal seeing Vince on Nitro. That's the only time I've ever wished I didn't read stuff off the net. I would like to know what kind of shock I would have felt to tune in for Nitro, and see VINCE MCMAHON staring me in the face.
-
I'll go ahead and throw Russo into the possible buyers situation. Who consistently wrote more crap than him?
-
I hope this may lead to an eventual full-time return to the ring for Lance Storm. WWE never used him properly, and the man can work a great match. I would KILL to see a match between he and Shelton Benjamin.

Predict the 2006 WWE Hall of Fame class
haws bah gawd replied to UZI Suicide's topic in The WWE Folder
Bobby Heenan is the only person I can think of, but they had a heated feud in the early 90's, so I dont know if WWE would want to protect kayfabe there or not. -
Is the 2005 PWI Wrestling Almanac out yet?
haws bah gawd replied to haws bah gawd's topic in General Wrestling
I didn't find it until the end of March last year. I was hoping maybe they had released it earlier, this year. -
I didn't feel that this warranted its own thread, but I didn't see annother topic that it was relative to. I've been buying their almanacs for the past 7 years, because they provide me with much entertainment, and are PACKED with info. Has anyone seen this year's almanac in stores yet?

Below are some pics comparing a curved, and uncurved WCW World Title Belt. You can see what a difference it makes in appearance:

I also own a WCW United States title replica. It is a LOT lighter than the big gold, but looks a hell of a lot better, displayed.

I remember Laura wearing this big bulky sweater on one episode, with a vest over the top of it. The first thing martin asked when the show began was "Laura, Why are you covering up the only 2 reasons anyone watches this show?". I laughed my ass off at that. I hope Martin Seargant can find another network to move a potential new show to, because he was pretty entertaining.
-
You would think with the Jeep segment, WWE would've done a test-run to see if Big Show was capable of tipping the Jeep, before sending him out to embarass himself.

I'll add another item to the hair metal cliches: The two guitar players and bass player, standing shoulder to shoulder, in somewhat of a conga line, going back and forth across the stage during the bridge of any given song I watched MTV for an hour the other morning during their "Rock Block", and EVERY SINGLE band featured all the members dressed the same: slacks, button-down shirt, tie, all in matching colors. The bands also all played the same style of music. Also, whats the deal with all the new band's singers, straining to sing like its all they can do to make a little noise come out of their throats?
-
Is there any update on the whereabouts of Martin Seargant? I loved Unscrewed with a passion, and it just mysteriously disappeared one day. My current favorite shows on the channel are X-Play, Filter, and Icons. Icons is pretty informative, and Filter is just a fun show to watch.

My favorite robe of Flair's is the one he is wearing on the cover of the Ultimate Ric Flair dvd set. That's the best robe he has, IMO. I was very partial to Champagne Kanyon's "Hollywood Championship Belt". Even though it was only seen a couple times, I thought it looked pretty sweet.
-
I remember "The Rebel Rack" being the name given to the Torture Rack in the old Street Fighter-style Wrestlemania Arcade Game.
-
I despise Orton with every fiber of my being. I found him barely passable last Summer when he was playing the cocky heel, and nearly lost my interest in all things wrestling-related when he won the title at Summerslam. I didn't find him to be even half-way convincing as a main event player, and still to this day, I see him as a glorified mid-carder. The thing that pissed me off more was when he "turned face", he played THE EXACT SAME CHARACTER, with the same cocky-ass poses and mannerisms. I never understood why I was supposed to cheer for him, just because he was kicked out of Evolution. That never convinced me as to why I should cheer this guy that had played a cocky jackass for the past year.

I own the Classic WCW Big Gold replica. If you can get the big plate in the center curved, then it is definitely worth the money. It just looks a little ackward being straight. The RAW version looks to be a little better quality though, and the side plates are longer and a bit taller.

I agree, that suicide dive was fucking incredible. Honestly, is there anything Shelton CAN'T do? He can fly, mat wrestle, brawl, hes got everything. Like everyone else has said, all he needs is that all important big feud to really cement him as a star.

Shannon Moore in a car wreck.
haws bah gawd replied to Open the Muggy Gate's topic in The WWE Folder
Its rumored Matt and Shannon had a thing back in their OMEGA days. -
I was all for Paul Heyman calling Albert's Baldo Bomb, the "Washooginator" for a few weeks during the summer of 2001. It just had a certain ring to it, and sounded a lot better than Baldo Bomb. Didn't TNA call Jerry Lynn's Piledriver the "Cradle of Filth" for a short time, not too long ago? I'll also go with Slopdrop. At the time, I hadn't seen too many reverse DDT's, so I marked for the move, but didn't care much for the name. At least WCW got it right (surprise!), calling it the Scorpion Deathdrop. Still to this day, Scorpion Deathdrop is my favorite name for a finisher. So in short, I wil add Baldo Bomb, Cradle of Filth, and Slopdrop.

Regal looked great tonight. He had a bit of a gut on him when he first returned, but is looking great now. We may have been sitting around the same woman. THis older woman was sitting directly behind me and was yelling "WOOOOOO SHELTON ORANGEBURG WOOOOOO!!!!!" for his ENTIRE match against Hassan. I'm sure we have differing gauges on crowd reactions, but I thought the place loved Dave. I'll admit though it was annoying when the crowd couldn';t pick a chant and stick with it.
