  1. The biggest pop I've ever experienced in person was at a house show last year. Batista and HHH were doing their practice match for Wrestlemania, and it was about a week or so after the face turn. For a crowd of 2 or 3 thousand it sounded like there were 20 thousand in the building when Batista made his entrace. The biggest pops I have seen on tv are: Stone Cold's run-in during Rock vs Foley to help Foley win the Championship Undertaker's return at Judgement Day 2000 HHH's return at Madison Square Garden in January 2002 Hogan doing ANYTHING during his match with the Rock at Wrestlemania 18. Hogan could do no wrong in the match, and when he Hulked-up, the place went insane. I haven't seen Canadian Stampede in years, so I will have to go back and watch it again to see Bret's pop. Then there is the holocaust of crowd heat that was Lesnar vs Goldberg at Wrestlemania 20.

  3. $48 grand a year is good money. I don't know where the fuck you live. I don't know where YOU live, but $48k a year is hardly good money if you plan to not live an apartment on microwave dinners and frozen pizza for the rest of your life. It's certainly liveable money, but you're going to eventually want a little bit more. Especially for poor ol' Maria, who has to pay for her own travel, hotel, rental car, all the stuff that she has to do to keep herself pretty for national television every week, and then take taxes out of it because Vince doesn't. I'm not saying 48K isn't good money, because its more than I make. I'm saying that its shitty pay for someone with a potentially hazardous job as a pro wrestler. I believe my friend cleared 52K last year just throwing Coke's on a shelf, and not bumping all over a wrestling ring.
  4. I've stated a couple times in previous South Park-related threads that one thing I haven't liked too much about the current seasons is how much the animation has improved. IMO, part of the charm of this show in the beginning was the even though there was horrid animation, the stories kept you interested. Now this show is animated like any other cartoon, just with ugly characters. All in all, I'm really looking forward to the new season. Between this and the season finale of the Shield, next week should be great.
  5. I finally saw the money train heist not too long ago, and listening to Overcome brough more chills to me than almost anything I can remember. The producers of this show always know the perfect song to fit the mood.
  6. I feel really bad for Trevor Murdoch. I'm not a big fan of his ring-work, but thats a shit salary for a pro wrestler. I have a friend who is a Coca-Cola stocker that made more than him last year.
  7. Agreed. The coffee drinking was brilliant.
  8. I just love seeing Finlay stiff the shit out everyone. I can see your point. Can't say I wouldn't mind seeing Finlay knock the shit out of some guys with the ladder.
  9. When I think of a ladder match, I try to think of guys who can take a good bump. Can Finlay bump well for a match like this? I'm not worried about Flair because I was pleasantly surprised with his TLC match with Edge back in January.
  10. So, in retaliation for Vic screwing his ex, looks like Kavanaugh is gonna get him some of Vic's ex. This whole episode was intense. I'm glad Claudette got the Captain job that she has deserved for so long, and I loved how Julian got the rat trap guy to crack. Next week is going to be insane.
  11. Didn't he get about 5 years of those? Yea, pretty much. Wasn't someone on the board saying that hes juiced to near Scott Steiner levels now?
  12. Guys in Gatestop, last night, said that FFXII got pushed back to September/October. Don't know if thats old news or not.
  13. If anyone cares, Test was given a tryout match prior to RAW last night.
  14. I thought Raw sucked ass all together. Throwing piss on someone isn't all that funny, and the matches totally blowed. The only shinning moment was seeing the Van Terminator after a couple years of retirement of the move.
  15. Think he'll be using his "Custom Chucky P" gimmick that he started using on Heat about a week before he was released?
  16. Because pelvic thrusts DIDN'T stop being funny in 1998. HELL YES!
  17. So I was trying to get some supper at the Subway in the mall where I work, tonight. I wanted to get the Subway Club, but they were OUT of turkey and ham. How does a fucking SANDWICH SHOP not keep ham and turkey in stock? It's been about 2 weeks since they had any ham, so I wasn't really expecting them to have any in, but not having turkey is just ridiculous.
  18. A lot of the instructors at the college I go to are observing Lent out of respect for another instructor who is also a Priest. I can't stand the smell or taste of fish, so Lent is out of the question for me.
  19. Like the guys said to the AP, hes just wanting them to show favortism to HIS religion and could care less what they do or say about others. Hypocritical jackass.
  20. I thought it was total bullshit that the Ninja Turtles ranked higher than the Transformers.
  21. The Sam Goody in the mall where I work is selling the Micros for $49.99. I was going to pick one up because they were so cheap, but I got to hold one in Gamestop, and its WAY too small. I was having a hard time holding the SP, so holding onto this thing was nearly impossible.
  22. 1Wrestling.com is/was Joey Styles' site (I think) so I'm not sure how accurate the news may be. Either way, signing Goldberg could be huge for TNA. He would definitely be their biggest draw outside of Sting, and any extra ratings he could bring in always helps. I would definitely tune in to see Goldberg squash a guy every now and then.
  23. I never put ice in my drinks if I use a soda fountain either. Then again my teeth are horrendously sensitive to cold, so I hardly ever drink or eat something thats not at least at room temperature. I don't do lettuce but whatever they do to cabbage when they go in egg rolls at the chinese resturant is amazing. Love the stuff.
  24. How much Joe have you seen? Just curious, because anyone's who seen a lot of his non-TNA work would never, ever claim his offense is that limited. Not for any reason other than it's factually incorrect. I'll admit I haven't seen much non-TNA Joe. I've seen the tremendously overrated Kobashi match, a match with Low Ki where it seemed they were just trying to see who could kick harder, his first match with Necro Butcher, and a handful of others. Don't get me wrong. I enjoy a lot of indy worker's matches. Guy like Christopher Daniels, American Dragon, Jack Evans, AJ Styles, and the Briscoes always entertain me, but I just can't see what it is that makes people so crazy about Joe based on what I've seen.
  25. I'd like to see how he does against guys his size... Yea that Kobashi is such a small guy. Terrible match too. One match, one opponent doesn't really show how Samoa Joe would do in general if he's out of the X Division and have to work with guys he can't just throw around or who can't be bump machines to his offence. I've got that match downloaded off YouTube - everyone seems to love the crap out of the Joe / Kobashi match I guess I'll have to see what the hype is all about. Count me in on not feeling the love for Samoa Joe. All I ever see the guy do is stiff chop - stiff kick - stiff suplex - Muscle Buster - Chokeout. Where is the appeal in the guy? Sure he can move for a big guy, but his offense is nothing to scream about IMO. I never understood the praise behind his match with Kobashi. All they did was trade chops for a half hour and give eachother a couple head-drops. It was HARDLY the ***** classic that all the ROH fan boys build it up to be. I know that's going to piss off a lot of the people on this board because I know a lot of you see Joe as this wrestling god, but I am not impressed. Could someone explain to me why the Muscle Buster is thought of as death? When he does the move all I see is a glorified vertical suplex with a spin. Until I see him have a decent match with a guy that weighs more than 225, all I will see is a fat guy that hits really hard. *Prepares to be drawn and quartered by all the Joe fans*
