  1. Quite a career this guy has had, seeing as how he has done ring announcing since 1999 (when he was 20).
  2. Watertown, NY July 24th, a RAW house show the afternoon of the GAB.
  3. Well, that and he's still in a 10-year contract through 2006.
  4. Hey, I'd never even thought of that. That's even scarier, and quite plausible. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hey, a 60-man battle royal isn't all that bad. Keep your chin up and read this book; it'll make you feel better.
  5. Well, evidently they were mistaken. It seemed to me that he did it a bit more gingerly than usual, but maybe that was just because i was expecting a botch of Nash-level proportions.
  6. This is my RAW Of The Year so far. Once WWE posts a pic of Hogan/HBK/Cena, that will be one of my favorite wrestling-related pics ever: the past, present, and future sharing the ring. Goddamn, the SD! they're taping right now is going to have to be supremely awesome to top this RAW.
  7. I'm not so sure they asked Cena to leave first. I wouldn't be surprised if it was a sign of respect for Hogan and HBK. For those of you scoring at home, that's 22 World titles and 18 WrestleMania main events between the three of them.
  8. Also, The Big Show was reportedly going to be brought into the WWE as 'Titan' when he debuted in 1999.
  9. I'm expecting Batista not to appear on RAW, then be drafted to SD!.
  10. Hey, they have more important stuff to deal with, like flag burning and Terri Schiavo.
  11. That was a formula Angle and Michaels rant.
  12. THE JOKE: The heading has both the title name wrong AND pics of the wrong champions. I'm assuming someone edited the wrong header PSD to splice in the Carlito pic.
  13. I think if you repackaged him as Titan or (duh) The Giant and gave him a Goldberg-like streak over jobbers on Heat/Velocity for a while, then re-elevated him to the main-event picture, you could significantly restore his image as an unstoppable behemoth.
  14. Correct. He did indeed kick out at 2.5 from the Pedigree.
  15. I'm assuming that we didn't see the title belt because it doesn't exist. It could just as easily have been a WWE Tag Team Title belt under that cloth.
  16. I will hopefully be at the RAW house show in Watertown, NY on July 24. If I am, I'll be sure to give you TSMers a RINGSIDE REPORT~!
  17. I like the idea that it's actually the ECW Title in the bag, just so we can see JBL's reaction. Though I wouldn't be too enthused about having JBL basically strip Rhyno of the title. Anyway, if that *is* a new belt in the bag, we won't know until next week. J-Mar (the WWE's beltmakers) are not allowed to reveal pics of the belts until they debut on TV; it's in their contract. They have admitted that several belts they created never made it to TV, but they can't post pics or talk about them. I like the idea of having the World Champ go to SD! and having this 6way be a #1 contenders match for the GAB. Good way to end the draft and also set up the ME of the next PPV without needing much buildup.
  18. Since we're wasting streaks like no tomorrow, I want Chris Masters to do a Masterlock Challenge against Steve Austin. Then, I want Eric Bischoff to declare tonight's show 'WrestleMania 21.5' so The Undertaker can lose to Val Venis.
  19. I cannot fathom the greatness of a WrestleMania DVD box set.
  20. IIRC, the Big Eagle belt was being releathered (given a new strap) that week, so they had to make do with the classic Winged Eagle belt for that ceremony.
  21. I personally like to see NOES2 as the story of a boy coming of age while trying to deal with his own tormenting homosexual desires (represented in some way by Freddy). It's pretty obvious to me what the scriptwriter's intent was. ------- [reading Nancy's old diary] Lisa: Sometimes when I'm lying here in bed I can see Glen in his window across the way getting ready for bed. His body is slim and smooth, and I know I shouldn't watch him, but that part of me that wants him forces me to. That's when I weaken. That's when I want to go to him. Jesse Walsh: Can I see that? ------- The gym teacher scene, from Jesse picking him up at a gay bar to stripping him naked and beating him to death in the shower. -------- The scene where he gets the Freddy tongue when he's making out with Lisa...where does he run to? The bedroom of his male best friend, of course, where he tries to spend the night. -------- The 'cleaning my room' scene, which included THIS gem of a moment. --------
  22. I really hope they go with Glover and make his Joker the antithesis of Nicholson's. This restart of the series has so far been the antithesis of the first four slick, brightly colored films and I hope they keep it up and retain the 'mature' theme that this first one had.
  23. That just made me think of WCW. I was curious about their attendance with the product that they had. Does anyone know the largest attendance for a WCW event? Was it the Nitro from the Georgia Dome with Hogan/Goldberg? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes, around 41,000 (rounded DOWN for some reason). In Japan they drew over 60,000 for a supershow with NJPW
  24. Well, there have actually been 4 major Big Golds used. Flair's belt in the late 80's had a custom nameplate that had a decorative pattern on it similar to the rest of the belt (though it had his name as 'RICK FLAIR'). Then there was the one used for the rest of the 90s until BATB 2000 (so badly beaten that the top of it was dinged in). Then there was the shitty one used until the creation of the Undisputed belt that was of a similar design but appeared to have been made of cheaper materials and thinner leather (as seen here). Then, the modern WHC that has the WWE logo on the top of it. Aside from these differences, the belt's design has remained constant, with only minor changes in the font used, the leather tooling, etc.
  25. Ahmed didn't get a singles match for the WWE Title. Luger won the WHC, so he's out. Ditto for Farooq/Ron Simmons. However, The Barbarian and Road Warrior Hawk do count (HHavoc 92 and Bunkhous Stampede 88).
