  1. Couple things strike me about that sgement: That was pretty good writing from a booking standpoint, but probably shouldn't have been done - Intriguing, but it was a little outside the boundaries of good taste, whether or not they were in character. Is it hypocritical of me to furhter love Bret and hate HBK because of that segment? Say what you will about Bret and wrestling; He always made me proud to be Canadian.
  2. Way ahead of ya. Got all winners (including pre-PPV) from 85-06). Duggan, Muraco, Harley and Savage are among them.

What are the deadlines again? End of 2006 for US, 2008 for Canadian channels, right? Although they've been pushed back like thrice already, if I'm not mistaken. Imarkout, it doesn't seem like that big a rip-off. Expressvu in Canada charges 9.99 a month for the HD reciever (2.50 for the standard digital) and an extra 15 for the HD Value Pack (28 Channels), by far the most in Canada. Cogeco and Rogers have something like 8 or 9 a piece. As a customer and I discussed on the weekend, waiting two years for HD might be better, especially with the price of a new set (they're not outrageously priced, but still pretty high). I'd say until at least half of the available channels are in HD, S-Video and component will do the job just fine.
  4. :D :D THANK YOU!
  5. Sorry if this has been mentioned like 15 times already, but there was a flavour in like 98-99 that was called Midnight Rush or something? Tasted like a blackberry-grape mix. Not bad. Blue gets the nod, old lemon-lime a close second. I don't usually get the Fierce, just the regular. Also, Gatorade is fantastic while hung-over or extremely sleep deprived. For two weeks the past summer, I was working from 930 pm-5 pm (right during the Stanley Cup Finals at one point, for fuck's sake). I had Gatorade/Red Bull combinations down to a science.
  6. Even with what, 18 months, of rust, that's a deal. Plus he'll be back with Cujo, which won't hurt. Columbus and Phoenix are my teams to watch this year.
  7. Fading out with "I'll fucking kill somebody" was awesome.
  8. ?? Lashley lost in the finals to Booker. Unless I fucked something up. It's been known to happen.
  9. There was one in 95-96 season in which the music continually loops as an AOL "downloading" message bar fills slowly, before being cancelled. My vote still goes to the Monty Python bit. There were some good ones being discussed in here I hadn't thought of.
  10. Can that count as camel-toe, or is cameltoe restricted to pantsed pussy? Gross, either way.
  11. This past Christmas, I got my mother a special Jeopardy DVD, which centred mostly around the Ultimate Tournament of Champions from the summer of 2005. While watching said DVD with her, it reminded me of when I was a 12 year old mark, and thought in 2000, after there had been eight Kings of the Ring, it'd be cool to have an Ultimate King of the Ring tournament with all the winners. Obviously, this wasn't meant to be with wrestlers leaving the WWF, dying, retiring, etc. Well, I thought it'd be cool to set up a fantasy tournament with all the winners. I couldn't remember all the winners and runners-up, so I ventured to Obsessed with Wrestling. Unbeknownst to me, there had been non PPV tournies from 85-91, including Bret Hart winning in 1991 as well as 1993. So, that means 16 total winners over 17 tournaments. I also thought it'd be cool to add four wild card spots from all the runners-up to open up the voting. The catch is that you must base your vote on year, i.e 96 Austin, not 98 Austin. So, the runners up: (85) Iron Sheik (86) Pedro Morales (87) King Kong Bundy (88) Randy Savage (89) Rick Martel (91) IRS (93) Bam Bam (94) Razor Ramon (95) Savio Vega (96) Jake Roberts (97) Mankind (98) The Rock (99) Xpac (00) Rikishi (01) Kurt Angle (02) RVD (06) Bobby Lashley. Pick the best four, and if interest goes, I'll set up a bracket. Voting will likely close Friday evening, or if all interested parties have obviously voted. Yes, I realise fully how little a life I have. My picks are Sheik, Bundy, Savage and Mankind.
  12. Know how fucking long I'll be singing that for? It's raining men, you magnificent bastard.
  13. Eddie/JBL is vastly underrated, but Havoc gets the nod. I'll keep the ball rolling: Bret vs. Bulldog SS 92 OR Bret vs. Austin WM 13 Bret vs Bulldog might have been the best match of Bret's career, and almost certainly the best of Davey Boy's. WM13 might get the nod due to it being a fantastic feud and the double-turn being a corner-turner for WWF. Discounting all storylines and what have you, I think I'd rather watch Bret/Bulldog.
  14. Since when do colleges have talent shows? I had a wrestling match for my grade 8 show. I thought that ruined it across North America.
  15. Though Raw's still on tape delay in Canada, did I miss anything? Saw my Foley promo and Umaga and immediately lost interest.
  16. That was awfuly bizarre, wasnt it? Just up and disappears, as tsn.ca put it, passport missing. Something off this reeks of All My Children.
  17. By that your referencing the team that finished 9th in the West and missed the playoffs? Yes, but by a point. And that team in 8 was Vancouver, which won't happen by a longshot. The difference in net will more than make up that point., as well as Smyth and Horcoff becoming established. Better brush up on this standings. Vancouver was actually 3rd. Edmonton finished 9th, 2 points behind both Nashville and St. Louis. I'm not making the argument that Vancouver, Nashville and St. Louis will all make the playoffs or that Edmonton will miss them, but Edmonton wasn't all that strong in 2003-2004. That's right. Vancouver won the game to eliminate the Oilers. I love crack. However, I'll defend my previous statement that Edmonton won't be the train wreck they're being forecast as. Edmonton wasn'tall that strong in 2003-2004, fair enough. But they were still a decent team,(essentially the same team now) and Roloson, Smyth and Sykora will make up that difference to get the Oil back into the show, IMHO.

  19. While a d-man should have topped the Oil's list, this is not a train wreck. Sykora only helps. I mean, this is more or less the same team from the last season before the lockout, with a seemingly established goalie, a little more depth, and a legitimate leader in Smyth.

  21. Johnny Cash - Hurt This might get me crucified, but Nickelback/Kid Rock covering "Saturday Night's Alright" Metallica - Turn The Page
  22. So, Kramer's restaurant opens up a block from your house. A fresh pizza dough is flattened and sitting in front of you, as are every herb, spice, topping and condiment you can imagine. Make your favourite pizza. Add any toppings you like, any sauces you want. If you'd like to take it one step further and add to the generic dough, go right ahead. Discuss. I'd use generic pizza sauce, but add lots of garlic salt and a couple squirts of BBQ sauce before I added my cheese. Depending on my mood, maybe some Frank's and cayenne. LOTS of sauce on a thin, thin, thin crust. Shredded very finely, a medium layer of asiago, mozza, cheddar and Monterrey Jack cheeses. Lots of pepperoni, ham, bacon pieces (never strips), Italian sausage and ground beef crumbled. Topped with salt, chiles, Bleu cheese. The thin crust/lots of sauce is what makes or breaks it for me.

The shame I feel for asking this: What exactly is digital TV/Cable? Is it really that much different from HD? From what I've deduced, it's television that uses a set-top box and RCA cables? If this is so, then what precisely does an integrated digital tuner do? I know it picks up ATSC and NTSC signals, but, if my first question was right, shouldn't the set-top box, in theory, be unnecessary?
  24. I know this doesn't quite count as a "saying" per se; But Bret's entrance wouldn't have been nearly as memorable without the Fink. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrettttttt HITMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN HAAAAAAAAAAAAART!
