Back off, that's my kool-aid. I'd imagine being a party (school dance, bah mitzvah, wedding) DJ nowadays would be extremely easy thanks to filesharing programs. You don't even have to bring CDs anymore, just a laptop connected to good speakers. Sorry Corey, but this would be my side gig, unless I got a permanent spot doing it somewhere (my cousin does own a club, but caters more towards the hip/hop and R&B crowd. While I'm down with a lot of that music, I can't handle being a strict R&B DJ.). In a perfect world, I'd have a nice supply of dance, freestyle, hip/hop, R&B, the requisite 80's-90's crowd anthems, and what not. A perfect blend for pretty much everyone. As for using burnt CD's or whatever, I wouldn't do that. I'd go out and get the actual CD/vinyl that I'd need. I have one friend whose cousin DJ's, and he's a member of something called (I think) DJ World or DJ Club and he pays a certain fee, and gets copies of all hot club tracks/top 40 songs and mixes once a month. That way he's up to date on what all the kidz wanna hear.

I caught Even Stevens during my vacation (gee, who would have thought that The Disney Channel would play at Disney resorts?) and I've gotta say, she's quite do-able, and is at least a Disney girl of age, so that we don't have another Hilary Duff fiasco on our hands.

I can hook you up with a mix soon enough, Piss-man. Just gotta grab a new stash of CD's, since I used them up making CD's to take on my trip. They're more or less compilation mixes right now. I'm not too in tune with various effects (something I'm wanting to learn, obviously).

I've been thinking about it for a while, given my affinity for making various mixes, and being into all sorts of music. As Dames could tell you, I do a pretty good job on my mixes (well, I always thought so, but he can vouch for me, lol), and I'm considering looking into DJing not necessarily as a career, but maybe a way to earn some money on the side. I just figured I'd check around here to see if anyone has done DJ work before, or is also interested, and what they think of it. Maybe someone could point me in the right direction, so any advice/criticism/etc. is appreciated.

Yep, the Florida vacation has (sadly) ended, and I'm back home. The trip went quite well, with a high point getting a standing ovation in 8-Trax (a Pleasure Island club) for proving once again that I have no shame and busting out the Vanilla Ice dancesteps while "Ice, Ice Baby" played on the video wall. How I wish I had the video camera on me that night. The times were good, the ladies were hot, and it was tough to leave, but I'm thinking of heading back down at the end of the year. Anyhow, I'm back, and I know that you missed me... ::is handed envelope full of money from Dames:: ...as much as I missed you! Now, what's been going on around here?

Worst show on TV, or ever? Fuck that noise, this show rocks. It's proven time and time again it's not just a "teen show", and has great depth and substance. I'm back from Florida, and just watched the tape of this past week's ep. I need to say right now that I FUCKING HATE Oliver, so I guess the actor that plays him is doing a good job. Happy go lucky Luke had me in stitches. The previews for next week look good, with Oliver snapping. I'm so waiting for Ryan to knock him on his ass.
