  1. Sting's awful lute songs bore me. To see To hear To touch To kiss To DIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
  2. Was the author of that column Dan Shaughnessy? Does he have a new book coming out?
  3. I don't recollect having read a note like this one, but then I also don't recollect having paid a visit to the fine establishment known around these parts as Cracker Barrel. Every time someone posts a story in this forum that isn't about imminent thermonuclear annihilation, douchebags swarm the thread and declare it "fluff." It's really, really annoying, and I wish they would stop. That being said, this is fluff. So in a roundabout way, you're a douchebag.
  4. Hard to compare the two. Cheap Seats is never on anymore. If it weren't for the dvr, I'd never see it.
  5. Probably because the Mets were the best team in the league this season and they're losing to a team that most people had them beating in five games. Neither team stands a chance against the Tigers, so it's all really a moot point.
  6. Shitty service in a highway restaurant when it happens to whites is called "shitty service" The same thing happens to blacks and it's racism. Not sure if it's racism? Rev. Al is there, so there's no doubt been a crime committed against the race. I'm sure that the honky manager just didn't want to serve no negroes...that's why he offered them a free meal.
  7. I have Buffalo winning it all, so split that with my "Bruins will surprise" predictions and i'm batting .500.
  8. Of course he has. Who else would be?
  9. That does sound good right now. Maybe they'll hire that brutal racist Steve Lyons.
  10. You mean WLLHNG.
  11. creed, ryan, oscar, kevin, toby and stanley the manly are missing from that.
  12. I'm sure he cares about his film bombing while he bones Jessica Simpson.
  13. Yeah, if he goes with Carpenter, he's shooting in the dark for game 6 and possibly seven. At least if he throws Weaver, he has a fighting chance of having Carpenter starting an elimination game. Throw Carpenter and lose and you have Jeff Weaver starting an elimination game.
  14. Yeah, I saw that. Just sounds like sour grapes to me. Sounds like 'Roid rage to me. That being said, if Glavine pitches as poorly as he did in game 1 today (or tomorrow depending on rain), the Mets will have that game won. Albert doesn't talk for 5 or 6 years and the first thing he says makes him sound like the bigest ass in baseball next to Bonds. He should just shut his mouth, keep shooting up that HGH and fill the seats. I had minimal respect for this guy yo begin with, and I have lost whatever respect I had left. Huh? Ohhhhhh. Now it makes sense.
  15. No way those small-market Brewers could handle that contract.
  16. Stolen from The Soup: The Grudge 2 Movie Patrons 0
  17. It's acceptable because you're laughing at ESPN, not Lidle. Is he on waivers now? I think the Angels claimed him.
  18. exactly..I would go as far as to say Detroit is baseball town before any other sport If that's the case, they have to change center ice at the Joe. I think Hockeytown, I'm thinking Montreal or Toronto. Not Detroit.
  19. While Loria is bad, Wirtz has completely dismantled the fanbase of a team that was founded in 1926. The Marlins were added to the league in 1993, as Wirtz was doing what he's done. I know that Loria has done this to two franchises now and is someone who many of us wish would fall down an elevator shaft into a pile of cow shit, but what Wirtz has done to a once proud franchise that has had some of the greatest players in the history of the league wearing the indian head is downright sickening.
  20. I like the Phillies having numbers on the left sleeve, as it's unique to them (I can't think of another team with the number there). That said, i preferred the dark red and white to the slightly lighter that they sport today. And I hate pink hats, jerseys, shirts and everything else. The gal has her "baby blue" Blue Jays hat, which I can deal with.
  21. That's very true. Cubs fans (at least the ten or so that I used to work with) thought that Sosa could walk on water when he was in his 3 seasons of 60+ homers. Once he was exposed, traded, etc. they turned on him. I realize that 10 people does not encapsulate an entire fanbase, but they looked at him as if he was the best player, like, ever.
  22. Yeah, because over the last decade people have certainly had the reasoning to be concerned...When should they have been, when they lost 119 games? When their biggest star was Bobby Higgenson? Their ace was Justin Thompson? I'm not supporting bandwagon fans, but certainly nobody can logically argue that a team that loses on average 96 games over a ten year span is going to be at the forefront of a lot of people's minds.
  23. This is hard to say, but it may be time to move the Blackhawks. http://tsn.ca/nhl/scores/boxscore/?id=7173 All the talk about moving the Penguins, those damn southern teams being bad for the NHL and so forth and so on can't be really valid anymore when an Original 6 team can only draw 8000 fans to a game.
  24. (1) would imply that he thinks Ozzie Guillen is one of the two best managers in baseball. So, definitely (2). I've found you can never go wrong by just assuming Hawk is an idiot. YOU CAN PUT IT ON DA BOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAARD...*gunshot*
  25. "Toby killed this bird!" was probably my favorite line. That and Michael holding the meeting up for Pam, who thought that she was getting to skip it to be with Roy.
