Well now that we know the ECW/WWE cross brand interpromotion stuff is not ending anytime soon, it may be plausible that RVD keeps the belt. I mean lets face it, with Triple H in the RAW ME scene without the belt, doing his DX thing, I am sure he would be happy as hell that the title holder is not even featured on RAW making the belt seem less important then a DX rehash. In a triple threat match there are so many different possible endings without making guys look weak, that I actually could possibly see RVD keeping the title so they have stronger storylines for the ECW show for awhile.

Wow, we have a real ECW fan here, I count that two replies in two seperate ECW threads adding little to nothing to the conversation.

What is this, Smackdown? Do we really want "jealousy among feuding tag partners" to be the basis for ECW's first big main event feud? I much prefer the idea of initially building to a face/face match based on respect, and then have Angle turn heel in the match by accepting help from someone who was initially his sworn enemy, yet who he has natural reason to join storyline wise. Also, if Angle turns heel in the match and cheats to get the belt, it builds to a natural rematch at the next big show where Sandman can neutralize Punk by squashing him in the undercard, and then we can finally see what RVD and Angle can do against each other one on one. The promo you wrote out is pretty good, and I can see Angle using that later when talking about how Van Dam isn't a "real wrestler" and how he just accepted help from Punk to "level the playing field" for the way RVD blatantly uses weapons, but I think that if ECW's going to be "revolutionary", they should try to go with fresh storylines instead of the same cliche heel turns we've seen dozens of times in the WWE. Well I wasn't really meaning that they were tag partners for anything other then the proposed match. As far as the "respect" storyline, well ECW has done that before too with RVD/SABU and turning RVD heel, but I feel either your or my scenario could work.

I think you could brew a feud between RVD and Angle with their conflicting wrestling styles. Since the ECW fans are already all over RVD's nuts you can basically be the ECW Champ for awhile, as Kurt Angle is going through the ECW roster one by one, not necessarily squashes, but he wins his matches. So this goes on well into 2007, RVD is getting the glory, while Kurt Angle is quietly ripping through the roster. You build RVD and Angle as the #1 and #2 faces of the company. Then comes a Tag Team match RVD teaming up with Angle against whoever the big heels are at the time. The match is going on, with the heels getting the upper hand, RVD is positioned to get the Hot tag, The crowd is chanting for RVD....however.....Kurt Angle refuses to tag out, instead taking more punishment while trying to turn the match around himself. Eventually the heel executes a move into the corner of RVD, and RVD slaps Angles shoulder to tag himself in and take the match upon himself. From here, you can either have RVD win the match from the hot tag OR you can do the classic angle where RVD gets to the point where he needs to tag out and Angle abandons him. That weeks episode ends..... The next week Styles is in the ring, demanding an explanation from Angle, he comes out and talks about his olympic training, his wrestling skills, blah blah, and says how he is sick and tired of how RVD an inferior "spot monkey" is what the fans want to see over himself. He says he came to ECW to "CHANGE THE FACE OF ECW" and until RVD is beaten for the belt, the change will not be complete....etc etc So now the feud is basically setup as Kurt Angle turns heel and starts a program with RVD for the ECW World Title. Thoughts?

Honestly, I am willing to take a ratings drop if the show is to feature a more authentic "ECW" feel. Lets face it, for the "ECW" brand to be a success and continue in the long run, it is going to HAVE TO BE a success without WWE Main Eventers constantly featured on the show. What this means is you have to take risks to get the rewards. If Making the show more true to ECW means that initially some WWE fans tune out, then that is ok, because lets face it, until the new ECW establishes it's new stars, gets a bunch of it's OWN feuds started and gets the fans emotionally involved, there really isn't a big reason for people other then smart marks to tune in on a weekly basis. Nobody can honestly expect ECW to just skyrocket from the first day. It's not like the original ECW died yesterday, or even a year ago, it has been over five years so a lot of the emotion and nostalgia is gone and it will be up to Heyman and the ECW roster to find a way to bring people back to the product and bring new people to it. This won't be done over night, or even in a month's time. This is literally going to be like building a new promotion from ground up, except the only difference is that ECW will have the funding necessary, unlike the original ECW. I said it before and I will say it again, the December ECW PPV is going to be the big make it or break it show for ECW(Or if not that, at least it will be the first big indicator in the direction of ECW) because that is going to be where the ECW angles and storylines will climax for the first time. This isn't going to be a ONS PPV featuring Nostalgia and WWE wrestlers.(well actually we don't really know if WWE workers will be excluded) This is going to be the show to determine whether the masses will buy a PPV for Sabu, RVD, Sandman, Kurt Angle, CM Punk, CW Anderson, *shudder* Test, etc etc etc

I really think that once the WWE crossover stops on ECW TV, that is when we will begin to see more actual feuds emerge. Also, ECW has to show off more of it's roster. It really is hard with only a one-hour timeslot, but it also helps that ECW in their 2nd week concentrated on WRESTLING MATCHES for the most part, instead of long, drawn out promos. Once more of the roster is shown off, I am willing to be Kurt Angle is a prime contender to turn heel.

Good Ratings News. The NBA Finals COULD be a reason for a small ratings decline. Also glad to see the audience climbed as the show went on.

The Main Event rocked, it just sucks that the crowd was crap, of course it is hard for 100-200 ECW fans amongst a Smackdown Crowd to get the rest of the arena pumped up, although we did get some minor "ECW" type chants going. Considering this show was 10x better then last week, I have to say I am very excited about the potential for next week when WWE involvement should be over with.
-
Well so far Week 2 is a major improvement...SO FAR.
-
Considering ECW has had exactly ONE bad show thus far, it would take about three years worth of bad shows to catch up to Smackdown.

Team Canada being disbaned is the best thing I read out of the entire two weeks worth of tapings. I still don't see why Jarret is Champ again, and the non-finish at the PPV is really unjustified now that Cornette just handed the belt right back to him on the show.

From Da Meltz~! Update on ECW show I wonder why!?!

Cell Phone Update: Well the fucker dried out about 90% of the water from it, and it turns on and works. Haha. The screen is a little flaky, with a lot of the color being too dark, but at least now I can retrieve all the numbers out when the new phone arrives. The bad part is, I just spent $50.00 that I didn't really need to, but the good news is, it is probably for a phone that WOULD HAVE cost about $150 or more.

Everyone knows that when Vince McMahon is in control, the way things are done are going to change weekly, if not daily. Hell, even with Heyman running the original ECW, plans were changed or not even made up until five minutes before the event, sounds like ECW to me. At least it looks like this week might have actual wrestling as the driving point, with Cena's run-in directly related to Sabu, and not just randomly showing up to throw a few punches. I am still curious as to see the follow up to The Zombie, as bad as that was, and what this week's version will be, I think it was sooo bad that now my curiosity is aroused just to see how they follow that up.
-
That is what I am hoping for. Since I have had this phone for over 2 years, it is almost guaranteed they won't have my model available, and they never send people a WORSE model, so I am hoping to get a better one. I just hope it isn't a refurbished piece of shit that will break in 2 weeks. Also, my phone is drying out as we speak. I am aware that SOME STUFF will work again once completely dry, so I am holding out hope for that too, but if I do get a better phone in the mail, then I will just transfer the numbers and send my old phone in anyway.

Weeelll excuuuuuuse me. LOL. I was aware that there was a LITERAL difference between the two, however in WWE where so many liberties are taken with EVERYTHING, I am unsure why a guy like Lawler feels it is so necessary to reiterate that "Wah Wah Taz never beat me because a choke is illegal, whah whah. I refuse to put people over"
-
Since when were chokes illegal in wrestling? Is a choke and a sleeper-hold two different things? I am confused here. Plenty of wrestlers have used Sleeper Holds as finishers, which is basically a fucking CHOKE HOLD.
-
Well we have one match confirmed, and a Cena invasion all BUT confirmed. So it looks like ECW will be light on the "ECW" for a second straight week.
-
I hope you are joking Dr. House! It's not the Male Ass that bothers me.....well yes it is, but moreso the fact that it is just a rehash of 1997. You'd think after 9 years go by, you'd have a new joke or two to add to the routine.

The Sabu spot from Raw is already up on www.ecw.com along with some other new stuff to read/watch. Weird that ECW was more over on RAW then on Smackdown where ECW fans showed up for a taping. Of course, that Sabu encounter was probably better then anything actually featured on ECW last tuesday.
-
ECW should be better then Raw this week for the mere fact that they are having a wrestling match.

My biggest problem with the DX reunion thing is that, originally they were heels, but slowly got over with the crowd for actually being witty and funny, but like everything else, once the face turn happened, everything got watered down to cater to the pops of the fans. Thus far, and I really have no idea if this is long term anyway, but thus far it really seems as if they have just looked at some tapes from 97 and decided to redo the same things and hope the crowd eats it up. Unfortunately the fans are falling for it, hook line, and sinker.

I thought Lawler was a heel announcer, why is he cheering for DX?
-
So how will the "Steph is in labor" thing turn into another DX prank?
