  1. It would make a hell of a lot more sense to have Edge in ECW, then Big Show, but knowing our luck if Edge went to ECW, he would immediately get into a feud WITH the big show. LOL.
  2. Back in the day I used highspots, but they were threatened with legal issues so they stopped selling North American stuff. Anyone have any good tape trading sites for this stuff?
  3. The problem with Matt is he doesn't seem to take into account situations that would put him on defense. Remember on the show, he got rocked in practice and it sent him to the hospital. He seems like he is going to be cocky until he is truly tested in the ring by a striker. Sure, because of his superior wrestling ability, it will get him a lot of wins, but when he comes across the wrong opponent, the loss could be devastating as he doesn't seem to be very prepared for having to change a gameplan or take a punch.
  4. Looks like I am heading to Circuit City soon.........
  5. The thing is, Vince wants ECW to be a third leg of WWE, with maybe twice as many chair shots, and table spots. If Vince was smart he would cater the ECW brand to the fans of TNA/ROH/Indy to try and siphon fans away from those companies or at least get them watching ECW as well which would mean fans would have to actually consider not buying a TNA PPV in favor of an ECW PPV. If Vince merely wants a 3rd WWE show, then he sure as hell won't convince fans of other styles of wrestling to watch. Vince comes off looking stupid if all of this is true. He basically has the power to drive TNA out of business within a few months if he wanted to, but instead is too stubborn in favor of his own goddamn vision of Sports Entertainment, that he won't even allow a creative genius like Paul Heyman to go out and grab the attention of an entire seperate audience of prowrestling.
  6. Could mean something, could mean nothing. WWE false advertises a lot, especially nowadays to protect "suprises"
  7. Well one of the matches will be at the top of the 2nd hour, while the other closes the show. I'd say odds are 50/50.
  8. The only other way I can see RVD losing and it being ok, is if someone from ECW actually interfered costing him the match, to set up an actual new FEUD IN ECW, since they are in desperate need to set up their own feueds and not just be stuck with their top guys vs. WWE top guys. Maybe Sabu can interfere costing RVD the match, and his justification is that he wants to get the REAL BELT from RVD which to him is the ECW belt, and until RVD is done messing around in WWE, he will not have the oppurtunity to wrestle for the ECW belt. Of course, all this needs to be communicate somehow to the fans since Sabu doesn't talk *cough*BILL ALPHONSO*cough* I mean seriously, I dunno if it just me, but I have had all I can take of the "entire ECW roster" huddled together chanting "E-C-W" It makes them look more like a stable, then a roster.
  9. Edit: Wrong Thread!!
  10. http://www.fangoria.com/clips/lep_7.mov Discuss.
  11. I agree 100%, Vince thus far doesn't even fucking care that RVD has the belt and is an "ECW" guy. I mean besides the 10 seconds he spent "addressing the state of WWE" He hasn't even acknowledged the title situation. He SHOULD, but he is all wrapped up in the stupid DX bullshit to have time I guess. So why would the WWE Ref even try to screw over RVD......to appease Jerry Lawler!?! I still say that if they want to continue the ECW/WWE cross promotion, then RVD needs to retain the belt. I mean I am sorry but does anyone else think a BIGGER DEAL should be made out of the fact that RVD is holding the WWE Belt AND the ECW Belt? Shouldn't that be a bigger damn storyline then "Look I am mooning guys, ahahahahahahahaha, wow naked male ass hahahahahaha" I can see RVD losing the WWE belt tonight, but it better not be clean.
  12. We should strictly enforce immigration laws, not unpopular, but strange because I am a lefty mcliberal.
  13. The people who feel ECW should be Vince's answer to TNA/ROH/Indies hit the nail on the head. From a business standpoint, Vince doesn't need ECW to be some huge deal, if it merely maintained the ratings it has already acheived and at the same time brought the audience from TNA and ROH to a similar product, then it is a success. There is no reason Vince needed to create a third brand of WWE if it was merely going to be another WWE styled wrestling show.
  14. I can see where some ECW fans are coming from though. It's an ECW Arena show, they aren't using it for TV, so maybe they thought they were going to get something special for the first time back at Viking Hall. On the other hand, they can't be so naive as to think Heyman has the power to just reproduce 1994-1999 all over again when he isn't the man in charge anymore. The fans know damn well Vince is in charge of this re-birth of ECW, so in a way you can saw that the ECW fans giving their opinions vocally is a good thing because it will also help Heyman when he goes back in front of Vince in production meetings, about the expectations of ECW fans, and those expectations should be heard because you really do need the core ECW audience to accept and come out to shows, otherwise you are relying on WWE fans to accept a 3rd brand of WWE, featuring mostly lesser known workers and a different style that they are accustomed to. That is something that people overlook, is that Vince has basically brainwashed wrestling fans into thinking his brand of prowrestling is superior and everything else sucks, so it is going to be hard for him to basically send out the REVERSE message by launching "ECW" and saying,"Oh nevermind, different styles are good, you should watch this other type of wrestling too" To me that is going to be a hard sell, especially right away. The ECW fans will of course come to watch because of all the familiar faces, but beyond that niche, you really are taking on a mission to recondition the fans into thinking it doesn't have to be WWE to be good, which could take awhile. It seemed like Heyman got his point(s) across to the crowd though, and the thing is, the old ECW fans are still going to come out to shows, you can bet on it, as long as guys like Sabu, RVD, Sandman, Stevie Richards, Guido etc...are there, along with new guys being developed such as CM Punk, and any other ROH or TNA guys they eventually sign away, that can put on good matches.
  15. Me too, if it wasn't after ONS & Slammiversary. 2 PPVS in 2 weeks is a stretch, but 3 in 3 weeks is too much for the satellite bill.
  16. Seems like this show was hit or miss from match to match, however it sounds a lot better then what they have been using for the Tuesday Night Tapings.
  17. So yeah I like margaritas frozen style, but at home the closest I can get them to frozen, is slushie form. Now they are still good, but what is the missing ingredient or missing tool/machine. I was at Applebees the other day and I didn't really notice them use anything other then a big blender, but my view was somewhat obscured. Anyone else know a thing or two about making frozen margaritas?
  18. I had this beer in Arizona last year at the Redskins/Cardinals tailgate, you added a slice of orange to your beer, the way you would add lime to Dos Equis. I forgot what it was called, but damn it was good. We had an entire keg of that and MGD, and you can imagine which keg ran out first.
  19. Getting drunk with friends goes over well no matter where you are. So whatever you end up doing, make sure you are with friends.
  20. No Running Game and/or Commitment to the running game. Even when the Eagles COULD run the ball, Andy Reid didn't seem to like to do it very much. The Defense in the NFC East is going to be too tough on one-dimensional offenses. I can only imagine what it will look like when McNabb is forced to call 20 playaction passes in a row, as the defenses stop biting on it after the 3rd attempt.
  21. If ECW ends up being more like Week 2 then Week 1, I would say Smackdown is the C-show.
  22. I am actually kind of interested in seeing this PPV, however I already saw ONS at a friend's house, I had Slammiversary at my house, so I need to find somewhere else to see Vengeance. I wonder if I can find any local sportsbars that show it. I called Hooters, but they said no.
  23. Dallas is ranked too high, but again what ELSE is new? I have no doubt that the addition of Owens will be good for another couple of wins, but it will be the same old story, Dallas will look impressive over weak teams because Owens will abuse crappy corners, but when the schedule gets tough and Bledsoe turns into Bledsoe, the soap opera will begin. NFC East will be the best division in football. Of course my bias has Washington coming in 1st, but that is mainly because by the end of the season they were clearly the best team in the East, kicking the shit out of the cowboys, and beating a respectable Giants team, and I think they had the best offseason out of the three, especially with the addition of Al Saunders to the coaching staff. Mostly, Santana Moss will be able to be triple covered anymore, and Portis showed last year he is elite RB even without the "Denver system"
  24. Well the fact that we are building military bases over there should be a hint that we aren't REALLY leaving anytime soon.
  25. We were wrong to invade, and need the administration to show some actual leadership and set an objective, STICK TO IT, accomplish it, and get the fuck out. I swear the objective keeps changing everytime something else in Iraq goes wrong.
