Well one thing that can't be denied whether you support Obama or not, We are all a part of American History. This is not going to go down as just any other election. This is a story for our grandkids. Something to feel proud of, that OUR generation made this happen. Congrats America, we finally did it!!!

Not as bad as the Cowboys secondary....

It's hard to say. I think the race would definately be neck and neck, because Hillary was a more polarizing figure from the get-go. The right wing had to TURN Obama into a polarizing figure by calling him a terrorist-buddy and a socialist, but Hillary already had the right-wing hatred going into the election.

Well now it's time for me to focus on some local props like 8....hoping it goes down in defeat.

I found it hilarious that the minute Obama was announced the winner, CNN goes to a shot of some random hall of a bunch of partying african americans....lol. Damn I have never seen this many members of the board reading a Current Events topic......Welcome guys, feel free to post your reactions, don't just lurk. One of the CNN Anchors broke down as he was explaining how Obama got his start in politics in St. Louis, where a race riot happened. The camera wasn't on him but you could hear it in his voice.

CNN has Obama at 220...so it is pretty much OVER, since California is going to serve him up 55 EC votes.

Over at the Pit it's a combo of Leena thanking Palin for "inspiring" her, and MikeSC ranting about how the evil most biased ever networks are going to cook the numbers to make it look like a bigger margin of victory for Obama then it really is.......

I don't think enough people are hardcore MMA fans enough to be buying WEC ppvs. Besides Uriah Faber they have no name recognition. Maybe they could do a version TUF for WEC because I think that really brought in a new crowd for UFC.

Also, isn't there some type of rule against a defender lifting the QB off of his feet and driving him to the ground? Kind of like a suplex? Jason Campbell got Belly-to-Back suplexed last night. Redskins get some much needed rest this week with the bye. Springs & Jason Taylor will be back and finally healthy when they host the Cowboys.

Currently I don't see anyone else in the NFC East keeping up with the Giants unless the Giants just go and lose some unexpected games. I mean it isn't unfathomable to see them lose to Philly or Washington on the road, but it isn't very likely because they matchup well. I think the fact of the matter is the Cowboys/Redskins/Eagles all might be a little overrated. They are all good teams, but none seem to be the complete team the Giants are right now. The Cowboys probably have as much if not more talent then the Giants, but they definately aren't a better team, not even close. Of course we are only midway through the season, so things could change. The problem is the Giants would have to slip up combined with one of the other three teams getting so hot that they just blow through the rest of the season without more than one loss. The Redskins bye week comes at a perfect time though, and when they comeback in two weeks to host Dallas, Shawn Springs & Jason Taylor will be back and 100% which is good because having Springs & Rogers lining up at cornerback simultaneously changes the way the Redskins can use their linebackers on blitz packages. Also it will be nice to finally see what a healthy Jason Taylor can do for the D-line. Add to that all the other guys that are banged up and bruised from playing fourteen straight games without a break (5 preseason games, 9 regular season games).

I just voted in under two minutes as well. Of course being unemployed probably helped the process since I was able to go vote during the middle of the day which is the least busy time. My polling place was at an apartment complex.

I have a bone to pick with Redskins D-coordinator Greg Blache. Up until Big Ben gets hurt, the Skins are playing man-to-man, press coverage, and it is working pretty damn well. Besides the big PI penalty, their secondary is playing pretty lights out. Then all of the sudden Leftwhich comes in and "it's time for SOFT ZONE D" He backs up the corners off the line and suddenly Pittsburghs WRs are running all over the field getting open in any place they want to, and don't even get me started on the 3rd & goal play where Rogers is actually IN THE ENDZONE prior to the snap of the ball.....Seriously WTF. Soft Zone has it's place in football. When it is 3rd and very long, to keep from a WR getting behind you for a big gain, and when you don't have a secondary capable of playing man-to-man. This doesn't apply to the Redskins Defense, and I am very confused as to why having so much success playing man, equals them always switching to zone later in games. The Skins defense didn't have a bad game overall, as the Steelers only had 225 total yards offense, but they had a couple big plays when they needed them. The blocked punt was HUGE. The Redskins offense. Ummm......WTF? Their O-line played pitiful. I guess Santana Moss got hurt or something cause he was on the sideline most of the game. Cooley was neutralized by the fact that he had to help on the line all night and block. I am really thinking in order for this offense to really work on all cylinders, their WR draft picks need to get their act together and do what it takes to get into the games, because they are big targets who are desperately needed on third downs and red zone situations. One is injured which really isn't his fault, the other one came to camp not in football shape and is having a tough time "adjusting" whatever the hell that means. Again, this is post-game ranting so I probably sound more angry then I should be. The Skins are way ahead of where anyone thought they would be and this is their first year under a timing-based offense, so if everything goes according to plan, they should get better with time. It just frustrates me cause over the past 10-15 years I have heard that an awful lot.

To lighten the political mood up a tad bit....here is a little snippet from my home state California regarding Prop 8 which would ban gay marriage via constitutional amendement... http://movies.yahoo.com/mv/news/ap/2008110...2572494000.html Sacha Baron Cohen crashes LA rally as 'Bruno' Monday November 3 7:09 AM ET Here's hoping video of this surfaces..... EDIT: Well here's the only raw footage I could find, I am sure something better will surface in short time;

I wonder why they chose a dog though. I mean a werewolf I would understand since the mythology of vampires and werewolves have intersected a bunch through the years, but a dog? The show is getting better every week. Through the first few episodes I didn't think it was that great but it did just enough to keep me watching, but after last night's episode, daaaamn.

One year I went to this movie festival at a local indy theater called the Trash Film Orgy on Halloween, and some guy was dressed up as "Big Ern" from Kingpin. He even went so far as to get his hair done exactly like Bill Murray's in the movie....the comb-over was hilarious.

I wasn't aware the media was attacking her first amendment rights? As far as my observation goes, the media never said she wasn't allowed to use any form attacks she felt like doing rather they were making an observation that it was negative campaigning, which is pretty much an opinion and it is up to the people whether they choose to agree or not. Mrs. Palin is doing a little too much stretching with claiming her "first amendment rights are being attacked"

Lets go Faber!!! Yeah I'm excited.

Lyoto Machida? A returning Tito Ortiz? Maybe see if any of Elite XC's former roster is game? Joey Villasenor? Robbie Lawler? Come on Dana, make something happen.....

Iraq wants guaranteed US departure after 2011 http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081030/ap_on_re_mi_ea/ml_iraq So hey, if Iraq tells us to get out, and we comply....I guess we can sort of, in some way claim "victory" ?

That ad is honest, simple and effective.....so why is it just coming out 4 days before the election?

Yeah, but he's not as washed up as THESE fuckers... Oh yeah and there's the other big contradiction. "Celebs need to STFU".....unless their conservative.

Bruce Smith, Rod Woodson, & Shannon Sharpe are going in. I still don't really understand how NONE of "The Hogs" are in the HOF yet. If anything Russ Grimm and Joe Jacoby should be pretty automatic and some of the others like Jim Lachey should be considered. With that said, Art Monk & Darrell Green BOTH went in last year, The Skins fans took over Canton and the coverage of the event seemed very Redskins-dominated, it was a very cool moment for a Skins fan to experience, so I am pretty much content with a few years going by before a Redskins player gets in. I just don't want them to be forgotten because there were other great O-lines that came after the "Hogs" and the HOF Commission seems to have a habit of comparing performance & stats against future players and not their own peers which seems like bullshit to me.

What would be wrong with the Skins in the SB? They are a pretty historic and storied franchise, although not of late.

It's funny how now after the last eight years the Republicans are suddenly concerned about the Constitution. They basically laughed it off when Bush said "The Constitution is just a piece of paper" and the liberals at the time even said that they might be caring a lot more when a Democrat comes into office, but noooo, they were perfectly fine with giving more power to the Executive branch. Now Obama is probably going to win, and they are running around with their arms flailing all around screaming about "What about the consitution?" I call major BULLSHIT on their false outrage. At least some of of the more traditional conservatives were showing some concern at the time, but pretty much all of the mainstream of the republican party was fine with it all.

Chris Samuels is getting surgery at the end of the season. Portis & Santana Moss are fine. Springs & Taylor our OUT. This is a very hard game to predict. This could be the game where the Skins lack of Pass Rush finally haunts them, especially with Springs being out. The Redskins secondary when healthy seems to perform well even when there is a lack of pass rush but with Springs out, I dunno. Portis vs. Pittsburgh Run D is also an interesting matchup. The Redskins have a bye week after this game so they should be willing to go out there and play the most physical game of football they have played all season. I think Cooley has a big game and a late TD and the Skins win a close one, although I won't be suprised if Steelers win either. The big factor in this game I think will be turnovers. The games against the Rams & Lions were the first time the Skins started getting sloppy with the ball. 3 Turnovers against the Rams and one against Detroit led to oppurtunities for both of those clubs. They still one the game against the Lions, but probably won't be able to overcome turnovers against a solid Steelers team. Of course for all the talk of them having "let downs" and "playing down" to their competition, it makes me excited to see them face a team that they will have to "play up" to. Cause so far that has had them playing their best football. Redskins 20 Steelers 17
