  1. Don't you read the ENTIRE THREAD at anytime?
  2. The rematch was announced that same night, since Hogan/Taker was the "halfway main event". This Tuesday in Texas was promoted only days before Survivor Series took place (being the Thursday previous). The only confirmed match for TTiT going into the Survivor Series PPV was the Savage/Roberts match. Since Savage was "retired" at this point in time, President Jack Tunney reinstated him into the WWF at Survivor Series.
  3. With the exception of Nash, all three DID main-event right away. But with the exception of Nash, all three were established WCW stars that WWE fans clamored for. (Goldberg and Steiner being the only two that were supposed to get an ME slot by contract) Current workrate aside, I'm sure you can distinguish the difference between a developmental like London or Spanky and past headliners Steiner, Goldberg and Hogan. You capitalize on the drawing power of the established talent, while paving the road for the new crop of stars (Brock, Cena, Batista, Orton, etc.) Paul and Spanky have YEARS ahead of them. It's foolish to say that an established star is REQUIRED to pay dues in a new company; Of course, I'm sure that Goldberg squashing jobbers on HEAT for a few months would've gone over with the crowds, right?
  4. Judging by this report sent in to Meltzer, I would've LOVED to see it... --Speaking of Kimmel, all the reports we got on last night's show with The Lizard said it was a total and complete embarrassment. They bragged about blading as one of the guys had massive forehead scars. Kimmel said the two guys had the combined IQ of a Dalmatian. They used chair shots, a snap suplex on a mouse trap and a German suplex on thumb tacks, as well as a swanton off a ladder through a table (thanks to Sandeep Kumar, Clancy Gilpatrick and many others)

    He hate Me

Damn you, KKK. Now I'm dying to know who holds that team record. On a related note, the fact that they list a 1st down as a "Career Highlight" is absolutely priceless.
  6. You should've put the ©opyright on it, bub.
  7. I hope it's the title change from January of '87 - I haven't seen that match yet.
  8. What are you replying to? The basis of the earlier post was that anything outside of the WWE wasn't relevant for THIS argument - not in general. He's more than a qualified amount of AFRICAN-AMERICAN (look towards his father) - in all honesty, I think that's all that matters. The complaints of "no black champions" by wrestling analysts went out the window when Booker and Rock held the World titles simulatenously in the summer of 2000. And if the Rock isn't considered black, that leaves TWO people in the promotion that would qualify, sadly.
  9. Seinfeld. Newsradio. The Critic. Married...with Children. (season sets).
  10. 44-38 Ohio State. NC State with the ball at the 2...FOURTH DOWN. Turn to ABC NOW.
  11. 38-38 going into the 3rd OT with N.C. State and Ohio State...
  12. Angle took proper care in training despite the neck injury. After advising with Dr. Andrews and the higher ups at WWE, the company asked him to take some time off from the original diagnosis to rest for the title match. On that note, considering it was WRESTLE-FREAKIN-MANIA, Kurt got the PPV payout as well. Red seemed to ignore everyone's advice and kept working a full schedule despite the original injury. Going on an overseas tour after the first diagnosis only worsened the knee, especially with all of the airline travel. No contest here, but this still is a bummer to find out about. EDIT: (referring to post below this) Ahh. Sorry for the misunderstanding, R_E.
  13. So the cover decided whether you'd buy the DVD or not? Not anything like, you know, match quality, or overall entertainment value? Honestly, either you liked the show or you didn't - that up's to you, but that should be your sole motivating factor in buying the DVD (save for the price) On the opposite end of the spectrum, would you buy a DVD just because of a awe-inspiring cover?
  14. But we're not vouching the importance or validity of the worker on the cover - the original poster's argument was that they'll think of Sable when they recall Summerslam 2003. It's foolish to believe the video cover should be the first memory you have of a show.
  15. Since I'm into the habit of changing my signature daily...
  16. You think of the video cover when you recall an event? So, when you think of the 2003 Rumble, you'll going think of HHH first and not Angle/Benoit? When recalling the 1998 KOTR, you're going to think of Sable posing in leather with UT/Foley in a little inset in the corner? Remembering this year's Vengeance for the Undertaker's face? Well, it's not so such "lazy" as it was "forced". WWEHV are releasing PPV DVD's one month after their initial airing, probably due to some order from the head of the production department. Keeping that in mind, I think THAT will explain why they're sticking with the promo posters and not including new artwork based on the show.
  17. Well, there WAS an incident involving Jericho on the 02/04/02 RAW when he teamed up with Taker against Austin/Rock - maybe that's the one you're thinking of. Surprisingly, no one's mentioned this: March of 2000 - HHH tackling the fan walking towards Linda McMahon, who was standing at the top of the ramp. Of course, they DID cut away a few seconds after HHH took the guy down, so they cut to a shot of Linda's face until security could drag the fan away. Linda's non-reaction to the whole incident was priceless.
  18. Anyone watching Bradshaw on Cavuto right now? EDIT: Although I only caught the last two minutes of his appearance, he came up as highly intelligent and charismatic. Good job John.
  19. If anyone has the time - can you match each track to it's wrestler counterpart, if known?
  20. Tell me about it. I used Bailey on All-Pro for more than THREE HOURS before giving up, throwing the controller on the floor, then going to grab a bite to eat. Twenty minutes later, I got the elusive gold. Weird thing is, I got the All-Madden gold (NYG's Allen, right?) a LONG TIME before getting the All-Pro gold.
  21. OK - Compression quality goes down when extras are included on a DVD release. This is USUALLY not a problem with theatrical releases that run 90 minutes in length, but these are WWE PPV's, which ordinarily have a running time of 160-165 minutes. You're sacrificing the time it takes to compress the DVD (w/ extras) to get a quicker release date (in this case, only one month as opposed to two-three months for the U.S. and Canada. EDIT: For an example of correct compression, WWEHV went two discs with Wrestlemania XIX, BUT included all the extras on Disc 2 (which only had Rock v. Austin and Brock v. Angle).
  22. The "Latino Heat...Chavito Heat" lyric has been there since the beginning.
  23. The WWE considering ANYONE "direct competition" is good news for everyone. But anyway, it's simply a good business decision and not one that's motivated by a "threat to the WWE's reign". Since Lawler works at the PPV on 9/21, I'm sure they're going to protect him so that he'll be ready to work the majority of the tag match with Snow at Unforgiven.

  25. An F-5 is a tornado, not a hurricane. Of course, a powerful hurricane could turn into a tornado eventually, so you may have a point. Eh, they're both category 5's anyway.
