Downhome Posted August 19, 2003 Report Posted August 19, 2003 Here are some simple questions to discuss. I'll dive into this in a few minutes or so, I just wanted to go ahead and get it started before I run off to take care of a few things tonight. 1) First off, what in the hell does it all mean? 2) Is this the begining of the return of WCW...yet again? 3) Am I the only one here who felt a bit uncomfortable with it looking like Bishoff was about to RAPE Linda? 4) If this is them bringing back WCW, how in the world can WWE pull it off succesfully? 5) Are any of you against WCW, if that is what this will lead to? ...as we all know, there is a WCW show scheduled for a Thursday night in Ga. in Jan. some time, if I remember correctly, the time slot of Smackdown. Anyway, let's really get into this, and have some fun. Sincerely, ...Downhome...
Youth N Asia Posted August 19, 2003 Report Posted August 19, 2003 *thinks the angle over...ties a noose, and hangs himself* Sorry, I just don't wish to put ANY thought into this crapper.
bob_barron Posted August 19, 2003 Report Posted August 19, 2003 That WCW thing was a screwup. There is no WCW coming back
Guest undisputedjericho Posted August 19, 2003 Report Posted August 19, 2003 Didn't they clear up that WCW show thingy shortly after it appeared?
AndrewTS Posted August 19, 2003 Report Posted August 19, 2003 WWE would never plan that far in advance, let alone allow a spoiler like that happen.
Guest Coffey Posted August 19, 2003 Report Posted August 19, 2003 It never crossed my mind, when watching Raw tonight, that WCW was coming back. I thought they were just trying to add a little bit of a backstory to the Shane McMahon Vs. Eric Bischoff feud. Shane is pissed because Eric hit on his mom. Eric is pissed because Shane bought WCW. It makes sense to me.
Guest Showstoppa Icon Posted August 19, 2003 Report Posted August 19, 2003 i know alot of people dont like the idea of another WCW angle, but to be honest im so indiffrent to the product now, itd be one fo the only things that would keep me interested.
Guest Space_Cowboy Posted August 19, 2003 Report Posted August 19, 2003 The whole things just an excuse to get the McMahons on TV.
jester Posted August 19, 2003 Report Posted August 19, 2003 I remember a rumor from not too far back that Vince has no interesting in resurrecting anything WCW related. I think the writers just threw that in there. PLEASE nobody start another "Raw will be renamed to Nitro" discussion.
Guest wrestlingbs Posted August 19, 2003 Report Posted August 19, 2003 To answer Downhome: 1) First off, what in the hell does it all mean? Another month of Mcmahons on TV. 2) Is this the begining of the return of WCW...yet again? Nope. Vince would rather hire AJ Styles than bring back WCW. 3) Am I the only one here who felt a bit uncomfortable with it looking like Bishoff was about to RAPE Linda? Don't worry. According to the WWE, they don't do rape. Of course they also said they don't do murder, drugs, violence against women... 4) If this is them bringing back WCW, how in the world can WWE pull it off succesfully? With Eric at the helm, it could work. But 99% of the WCW roster is now viewed as WWE talent. 5) Are any of you against WCW, if that is what this will lead to? No, but to be honest I don't want another invasion angle.
Guest Super Pissed Smark Posted August 19, 2003 Report Posted August 19, 2003 It's not going anywhere and it's going to suck like hell while taking its sweet time not getting there. Am I the only one here who felt a bit uncomfortable with it looking like Bishoff was about to RAPE Linda? Yeah, the thought of poor Eric having to get his freak on with that aging McMahon meat is pretty discomforting. And even with Sting and Luger (yikes!) coming in there's really no WCW left, not enough WCW wrestlers left who haven't already been buried a dozen times, not that I can see.
Guest Fook Posted August 19, 2003 Report Posted August 19, 2003 I'm just surprised Vince would allow an angle where Eric Bischoff of all people makes out with his wife.
boobshaw Posted August 19, 2003 Report Posted August 19, 2003 Actually, I can only assume it was Linda's idea. In his career, Vince has had an "affair" with about 33408 different women on-camera. Linda just wants her affair, and Bischoff was, for some reason, her choice.
Guest Steel_Fury Posted August 19, 2003 Report Posted August 19, 2003 I am just guessing this play out like this on the PPV. Linda is at ringside while the match is on. Shane eventually beats down Eric and invites Linda to the ring for some retribution. Linda clocks Shane with a foreign object. Eric pins Shane and makes out with her some more on camera. They could however just play it straight and let Shane/Linda get their revenge on Eric, but I am guessing that they will not let this story die that easily. We will have to suffer with it for a while is my guess.
Jobber of the Week Posted August 19, 2003 Report Posted August 19, 2003 They mentioned WCW to pop a buy from that one guy who buys a PPV anytime WCW is mentioned or teased.

Linda just wants her affair, and Bischoff was, for some reason, her choice. She's doing it that way to get back at Vince both "in character," and in real life. How better to get back at your cheating husband than to mack it with his former biggest business rival?
Hogan Made Wrestling Posted August 19, 2003 Report Posted August 19, 2003 The way Bischoff said "I want to pleasure you" was the creepiest thing I've heard in a while.
Guest KJ Brackish Posted August 19, 2003 Report Posted August 19, 2003 My two cents are that it DID in fact sound like the return of WCW, which I wouldn't mind. It would destroy the split brand, so to speak. We'll have WWE and WCW. w00t w00t is all I have to say. DFA
Jobber of the Week Posted August 19, 2003 Report Posted August 19, 2003 We'll have WWE and WCW. w00t w00t is all I have to say. DFA Well, I'll have to store that post in the lockbox for future use. The thing everyone seems to forget about WCW is there's almost nobody watching these days who would care about a future WCW product. The only people who did were fucked over a year ago when they got calls from their friends who still watched that Eric Bischoff would appear after the commercial. Then came The Hug, and you could practically HEAR the bags of money burning into smoke backstage. That was the final nail in the coffin, AFAIK.
notJames Posted August 19, 2003 Report Posted August 19, 2003 Regarding the creepy exchange between Bisch and Linda: I have no doubt Vince had more than a hand in scripting this. Considering his strange sexual tastes and perversions both on and off-screen (need I remind you of his sneak-a-peek at his daughter's McGuffins), it wouldn't surprise me to learn that he had the two of them rehearse their scene over and over again in his presence. Sick freak.

Guest KJ Brackish Posted August 19, 2003 Report Posted August 19, 2003 I'm thinking that WWE will *try* to get ratings by forcing the WCW down our throats by featuring what it had in it's prime years. I'd hope that Bret Hart would return, but it is very doubtful. Last that I heard was that he still needed more rehabilitation in order to step back into the ring. Only time and spoilers will tell in the future. DFA
OldSchoolWrestling Posted August 19, 2003 Report Posted August 19, 2003 Isn' t Linda his boss? Why didn't she just fire him? Was little Stephy asleep in her room down the hall? Was the cameraman blocking the door? If she was going to call security, wouldn't they have already known he was on the grounds? Does ringing the doorbell over and over secretly open the door?

Guest JericholicEdgeHead Posted August 19, 2003 Report Posted August 19, 2003 At a time when PPV buyrates are way down, arena attendance is dropping by the week, and general interest in their product is low, why on earth do they do soap opera crap featuring 2 middle aged people, when they should be focusing on finding the next big WRESTLING star...the next Hulk Hogan or Steve Austin?? This sports entertainment sh#t is killing this company and my interest.

This sports entertainment sh#t is killing this company and my interest. I would have to agree with you. Before it was like, they put on good wrestling so that the storylines were tolerable. Now, the fact that they constantly put over the storylines, they are now killing the wrestling. This is starting to really kill the product for me though.

More to the point why didn't the camera man help Linda? or does Bischoff now have his "F-View" cameras in the McMahon's mansion now?
