WWE to release a "CLASSIC SERIES" on DVD/VHS

Recommended Posts

If you haven't heard already, Linda McMahon announced at the last press conference that WWE intends to release a "classic series" featuring footage, matches, and PPV's from NWA/WCW, ECW, and the AWA.

Awesome!!!!

Yeah this has been in the works for a while - Vince commissioned a $2m video consolidation project sometime last year. The project was to get all teh new footage they owned into the same format as all the WWF/E footage ready to be compiled in the future.

This could be a massive earner if they released a career DVD set every half year or so.

Well in his latest DVD, they have already used some of his WCW footage.

I think they will do an Elderbiker DVD to coincide with his retirement at wrestlemania XX

Who says he's retiring?

:firedevil:

And hopefully this means more older matches on the Flair DVD.

:headbang: That really IS awesome! The possibilities are endless. Let's hope they do justice to the other organizations in the process.

I wonder what the chances are of them reissuing any of the Coliseum videos. I tried to get Rowdy Roddy Piper's Greatest Hits off eBay and the guy kept my twenty bucks and gave my friend that bid on it for me some excuse about how he'd already sold it. That was the only time I've ever tried to get anything using eBay, and it doesn't exactly make me want to go that route again. A DVD reish of that would be gold, at least for me...unless there's someone on this board that would want to dub it for me. The first Hulkamania video was also pretty cool, from what I can remember. It's been at least 15 years since I've seen it, but Hogan's bloody match against Dr. D on that video still sticks out in my memory to this day.

Seriously, that post made my fucking day...

The Best of Bret Hart

The Best of Ted DiBiase (one of the best heels ever)

The Best of Steve Austin

The Best of Ric Flair

All of these would be really cool DVDs. I threw the DiBiase in there because if they're going to have both old WWF and AWA tape usage, then they could show DiBiase in his golden years as a huge heel.

We will get the HHH / Terra Ryzin box set with edited footage to make the WCW trips look good.

Knowing their previous showing of 'classic' HHH footage ie the wedding from the HHH dvd- HHH will still come out to Motorhead even in his Terra Ryzing jobber WCW days and his Greenwich Blueblood gimmick....

Maybe we can get a Best of Greg Gagne DVD, with a bunch of easter eggs with Big Bossman matches on them.

I'm banking they do a so-so series...

They ought to have routine

Every three months release a

Superstar DVD (Austin, Taker, Flair etc)

Recent PPVs

WWE From the Vault (which would be a Comp. of WCW, ECW, WWE, AWA)

Flashback PPV (release a Old PPV for 14.99)
