Guest rawmvp Posted August 28, 2003 Report Posted August 28, 2003 If you haven't heard already, Linda McMahon announced at the last press conference that WWE intends to release a "classic series" featuring footage, matches, and PPV's from NWA/WCW, ECW, and the AWA. Awesome!!!!
Placebo Effect Posted August 28, 2003 Report Posted August 28, 2003 She also said that she didn't want to oversaturate the market, so I can only hope we don't get one kick ass DVD... every six months.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted August 28, 2003 Report Posted August 28, 2003 and that one DVD will probably be the best of Kevin Nash, the WCW years or something. Relive the magic of Oz, Vinnie Vegas, Big Sexy Kevin Nash of the nWo/Wolfpac and more in this 3 Disc Collectors edition DVD set!
Ultra Violence Posted August 28, 2003 Report Posted August 28, 2003 maybe they will do a "best of benoit"
Ultra Violence Posted August 28, 2003 Report Posted August 28, 2003 Keep dreaming Mada. We will get the HHH / Terra Ryzin box set with edited footage to make the WCW trips look good.
Use Your Illusion Posted August 28, 2003 Report Posted August 28, 2003 Triple H: A tale of torn quads and dick jokes. Ah, the legacy lives on.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted August 28, 2003 Report Posted August 28, 2003 I think they have to do an Austin set, which means we can have Stunning Steve stuff, and ECW stuff on the disc too. Along those same lines there should be a Mick Foley DVD too. Oh, and a Dudley Boys DVD with ECW footage.
Guest webmasterofwrestlegame Posted August 28, 2003 Report Posted August 28, 2003 Yeah this has been in the works for a while - Vince commissioned a $2m video consolidation project sometime last year. The project was to get all teh new footage they owned into the same format as all the WWF/E footage ready to be compiled in the future. This could be a massive earner if they released a career DVD set every half year or so.
Ultra Violence Posted August 28, 2003 Report Posted August 28, 2003 I think they will do an Elderbiker DVD to coincide with his retirement at wrestlemania XX
MarvinisaLunatic Posted August 28, 2003 Report Posted August 28, 2003 I think they will do an Elderbiker DVD to coincide with his retirement at wrestlemania XX But, thats not utilizing the new WCW/NWA/AWA/ECW footage..
Guest webmasterofwrestlegame Posted August 28, 2003 Report Posted August 28, 2003 Well in his latest DVD, they have already used some of his WCW footage.
Mystery Eskimo Posted August 28, 2003 Report Posted August 28, 2003 Keep dreaming Mada. We will get the HHH / Terra Ryzin box set with edited footage to make the WCW trips look good. He WAS good in WCW, for a rookie.
Use Your Illusion Posted August 28, 2003 Report Posted August 28, 2003 Triple H was never ever that bad until he returned from his injury. I shudder at the good they could bring with an Austin DVD set. The extras they could load into that baby are almost countless. UYI
King Kamala Posted August 28, 2003 Report Posted August 28, 2003 It's doubtful that it'll ever happen but a Ric Flair box set would be phenomenal.
Anakin Flair Posted August 28, 2003 Report Posted August 28, 2003 I think they will do an Elderbiker DVD to coincide with his retirement at wrestlemania XX Who says he's retiring? And hopefully this means more older matches on the Flair DVD.
CanadianChris Posted August 28, 2003 Report Posted August 28, 2003 I think they will do an Elderbiker DVD to coincide with his retirement at wrestlemania XX I think you left off an X there.
Ultra Violence Posted August 28, 2003 Report Posted August 28, 2003 I think they will do an Elderbiker DVD to coincide with his retirement at wrestlemania XX I think you left off an X there. When he jobs to HHH?
Guest Plushy Al Logan Posted August 28, 2003 Report Posted August 28, 2003 I hope the greatest story of all time (In wrestling at least): The Dungeon of Doom.
CanadianChris Posted August 28, 2003 Report Posted August 28, 2003 I'm predicting a big Fred Ottman retrospective.
Guest Super Leather Posted August 28, 2003 Report Posted August 28, 2003 That really IS awesome! The possibilities are endless. Let's hope they do justice to the other organizations in the process. I wonder what the chances are of them reissuing any of the Coliseum videos. I tried to get Rowdy Roddy Piper's Greatest Hits off eBay and the guy kept my twenty bucks and gave my friend that bid on it for me some excuse about how he'd already sold it. That was the only time I've ever tried to get anything using eBay, and it doesn't exactly make me want to go that route again. A DVD reish of that would be gold, at least for me...unless there's someone on this board that would want to dub it for me. The first Hulkamania video was also pretty cool, from what I can remember. It's been at least 15 years since I've seen it, but Hogan's bloody match against Dr. D on that video still sticks out in my memory to this day. Seriously, that post made my fucking day...
Guest Ecto Cooler Posted August 28, 2003 Report Posted August 28, 2003 I'm hoping next year after Mania XX we get a Wrestlemania Box Set.
Guest wwF1587 Posted August 28, 2003 Report Posted August 28, 2003 i refuse to get excitted as i know they will FUCK this up
Nevermortal Posted August 28, 2003 Report Posted August 28, 2003 Knowing Vince, we'll get a "Worst of WCW" DVD.
JN News Posted August 28, 2003 Report Posted August 28, 2003 I'm hoping for a "Best of Bret Hart" DVD, myself.
Steviekick Posted August 28, 2003 Report Posted August 28, 2003 Knowing Vince, we'll get a "Worst of WCW" DVD. When that goes on sale, it's mine.
Austin3164life Posted August 28, 2003 Report Posted August 28, 2003 The Best of Bret Hart The Best of Ted DiBiase (one of the best heels ever) The Best of Steve Austin The Best of Ric Flair All of these would be really cool DVDs. I threw the DiBiase in there because if they're going to have both old WWF and AWA tape usage, then they could show DiBiase in his golden years as a huge heel.
Guest jm29195 Posted August 28, 2003 Report Posted August 28, 2003 We will get the HHH / Terra Ryzin box set with edited footage to make the WCW trips look good. Knowing their previous showing of 'classic' HHH footage ie the wedding from the HHH dvd- HHH will still come out to Motorhead even in his Terra Ryzing jobber WCW days and his Greenwich Blueblood gimmick....
Tawren Posted August 28, 2003 Report Posted August 28, 2003 Maybe we can get a Best of Greg Gagne DVD, with a bunch of easter eggs with Big Bossman matches on them.
Guest Choken One Posted August 28, 2003 Report Posted August 28, 2003 I'm banking they do a so-so series... They ought to have routine Every three months release a Superstar DVD (Austin, Taker, Flair etc) Recent PPVs WWE From the Vault (which would be a Comp. of WCW, ECW, WWE, AWA) Flashback PPV (release a Old PPV for 14.99)
