Guest Coffey Report post Posted August 31, 2003 Well, I have heard a lot of speculation that the reason for the angle was to get Kane back into a mask. I'm not a big fan of that idea, but I guess it makes sense. The problem I have with that it that Shane getting the better of Kane will be remembered for as long as he wears the new mask. If it happens that is. Even if Kane demolishes Shane at the next PPV, it won't matter in the long run. What will probably happen is that Kane will come out and JR will say some shit like "Bah Gawd!@ He should be dead!@ I watched him burn in hell last week!@ Kane is a monster!@" Then Shane will come out and beat his ass again. But unmasking him has led to him being over for the first time in quite awhile and actually led to some good ratings. Putting the mask back on him would just be stupid now. Ric Flair distracted the ref and Triple H pulled up his blindfold to find D'lo. Then he ran over and hit him with a Pedigree to get the pinfall. I was laughing at that "heel tactic" two days later.
