Guest MrPhil28 Report post Posted September 4, 2003 I wonder how Jesus will think of Christian Boy's antics at the party... You know, maybe...just MAYBE, Shawn isn't going to drink or do anything with a stripper at the party. Maybe he's just going to be there in support of one of his best friends. Why not just let these guys live their lives. Damn. It's kind of funny that Chris Jericho can be a Christian and not get any shit for that, yet Shawn is blasted constantly. Man, internet double standards RULE!!!! .
CanadianChick 0 Report post Posted September 4, 2003 I agree that people should lay off Shawn, but where is the double standard? And when has Jericho ever done anything like that? What does he have to do with this?

Well it doesn't take much to just bend over or get on all fours. I mean we all know Steph likes it from behind. Or you know they could just get really drunk and have a huge lesbian orgy. Man, internet double standards RULE!!!! . Dispite the fact my post was smeared in Scarcasm... I agree but Jericho doesn't throw it in our faces with Jesus Loves You Shirts and Shawn throws it out in every interview and promo. Jericho can be a christian but leave it to his own personal life...Shawn is the christian everyone hates...The one that thinks his being a christian means you should listen to what he says and he goes out and tries to FORCE religion at any time... Guest MrPhil28 Report post Posted September 4, 2003 I agree that people should lay off Shawn, but where is the double standard? And when has Jericho ever done anything like that? What does he have to do with this? I just meant that Shawn is constantly slammed for being an admitted Christian. Chris Jericho, a guy who a large portion of the internet is a mark for, is one as well. Anytime that Shawn does anything, people make reference to his religion. Chris Jericho swears on Raw ever week, and yet no one says stuff like, "I wonder what Jesus thinks of that. What a hypocrite." It's okay for Chris to believe in Jesus, and not Shawn, apparantly. And when does Shawn mention Jesus in his promos? I remember him mentioning God during 2 interviews leading up to his match with Hunter at Summerslam 2002(which lead to Hunter's asinine "I am God" comment). Seriously, if I'm wrong then please correct me, but I can't remember the last time he mentioned God. Let's not fight over these guys' religious beliefs. Let's just all agree that Hunter is the anti-christ and be friends.

Seriously, if I'm wrong then please correct me, but I can't remember the last time he mentioned God. Care to explain the 153 crucifixes on his outfit on Raw? To me, that is ramming religion down our throats, which I do not appreciate. I'm not only of the "I wonder what Jesus thinks about that" types, even though they are only kidding, but I don't need to be reminded that HBK is a "Saved 1". A cross around the neck is cool, but wearing 53 of them and the religious shirts is just overkill.
Adam 0 Report post Posted September 4, 2003 Yeah I thought all the crucifixes were a lil over the line. I mean one on the front of your T-Shirt is cool, but not 67.
King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted September 4, 2003 The funny thing is, whenever Shawn does his old 'stripper dance act', it's supposedly wrong because he's a devout Christian. Which shows how much people know. Being a Christian doesn't mean you have to live a boring, uneventful life. Sure...some stuff goes against 'God's teachings'. But still... And why shouldn't he 'force religion down our throats' as you say. He's a Christian. He's proud of being a Christian. And also...if Vince can make t-shirts that market towards Christians but also show you're a wrestling fan, then of course he'll do it.
MARTYEWR 0 Report post Posted September 4, 2003 I agree that people should lay off Shawn, but where is the double standard? And when has Jericho ever done anything like that? What does he have to do with this? Jericho admitted once in an interview with Metal-Sludge that he did drink too much and threw up at Christian's (the wrestler) bachelor party. Because a lot of people don't like it when something like religion is rammed down their throats. Sure I'm religious (Catholic), but it's not my place to force my religion onto others, especially when they don't even ask for it. Everyone has there own set of beliefs, that should be enough. You're right, being a christian doesn't mean that you lead a boring life just look at Shawn for example, he practices his religion by stealing and plotting against young deserving wrestler backstage. The Clique is a new religious brotherhood.
Jobber of the Week 0 Report post Posted September 4, 2003 Yeah, Jericho's the guy who's high school yearbook says he wants to be in a Christian rock band, but Shawn still gets slagged. In general, I think the people on this board really don't care for a wrestler's religion. However, I think Shawn gets flamed more than the rest or is accused of being hypocritical. It's a mix of: 1) His old life of hardcore parties and shit like the D-X stunts, and his sudden decision to "change" 2) Being a friend of HHH, a lightning rod of negativity here 3) Bret Hart marks These three above elements combine to form more pissant whining about Shawn than is really necessary. EdwardKnoxII 0 Report post Posted September 5, 2003 While I haven't read the whole thread yet but, does anyone thing it will be like the movie Bachelor Party? They'll have a donkey for Sable to fuck and it dies from eating all the drugs. Or they hang Ultimo out the hotel window naked. Or Nash ends up getting a hand job from a transvestite. Guest Dmann2000 Report post Posted September 5, 2003 Something about this whole situation reeks of the mob. Associates being "strongly advised" to attend a function for the boss's (Don's) son in law, and you know only an idiot would dare skip the wedding or give the smallest gift. Scherer's the one who said "strongly advised", that's coming from his own opinion. I mean, is HHH really gonna care if Spanky doesn't show up... For that matter, whatever happens at that party AIN'T gonna have an effect on me.
