Papacita 0 Report post Posted September 6, 2003 I just stole this from 411 (who stole it from MTV)...I didn't see any threads and thought somebody might find this interesting: Rapper N.O.R.E. was arrested for marijuana possession Wednesday in New York. Police found a joint and a bag of pot in the rapper's SUV. Police caught up with N.O.R.E. after they received reports that the rapper was waving a gun before stepping into his SUV. Three other men, one being rapper Tragedy Khadafi, were also arrested and charged with misdemeanor possession. No gun was found in the SUV. N.O.R.E. is now set to appear in court on October 9th. Noreaga (N.O.R.E.) was also arrested for drug possession in 1999. He also spent time in prison for attempted murder in the early 1990s. In 1999 he was found guilty of assualting a 16 year old fan. Credit: MTV Murder Inc. rapper D.O. Cannon was shot and killed on Thursday night in Queens, NY. Cannon usually performed alongside Young Merc. Cannon was last featured on the Murder Inc. release Irv Gotti Presents: The Inc. and Irv Gotti Presents: The Remixes. This is the latest in a series of problems that Murder Inc. has ran into, one being the current investigation into the possible drug dealing and murder ties of label head Irv Gotti. I heard about the N.O.R.E. thing the other day, it was something really bizarre like the cops saying he had a machine gun or something like that. Sigel, a 29-year-old South Philadelphia native, has a pending drug and gun case in federal court and two pending cases in state court, including an attempted murder charge. The bail question was to return to federal court later Friday for a hearing before U.S. District Judge R. Barclay Surrick, who a day earlier had approved Sigel's request to undergo treatment. Terrance Speller, who was allegedly shot by Sigel, and his girlfriend testified Friday morning that they had received daily threats about the case. None came directly from Sigel, they said. Common Pleas Judge Carolyn E. Temin revoked bail at Robinson's request, but refused her request to preserve the couple's testimony in case they are unavailable to testify at trial. Sigel, who was born Dwight Grant, had hoped to go home after the four-week drug treatment program to finish up work on a third solo album, "The B-Coming," which had been scheduled for release this month, as well as on film and cartoon projects. Sigel allegedly shot Speller outside a West Philadelphia strip club on July 1, when he was out on bail for allegedly punching a man outside a Chinese restaurant, breaking his left eye socket. Sigel's two solo albums have sold more than 1 million copies. He has missed most of a summer "Roc the Mic" tour with Jay-Z, Memphis Bleek and other Roc-A-Fella label stars after he was taken into federal custody on July 14. Just because he was associated with the Inc (wasn't a member) he gets killed, and the cops point at Aftermath. Cops are just reaching for shit. As for N.O.R.E, I don't know why rappers aren't careful and not being aware on what they're doing, cops in NY are going open season on they asses.
