tpww7 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2003 NWA-TNA has come to terms with Hulk Hogan, who will be working what will no doubt be the promotion's biggest pay-per-view ever on 11/30. The three-hour broadcast will be headlined by Hogan vs. Jeff Jarrett. More details will be forthcoming. Credit-1wrestling.

Nevermortal 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2003 Ugh. So how long until AJ drops the belt? I'm giving him until the end of the month. Fucken TNA....
tpww7 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2003 End of the month he is booked against JJ.... Damnit.
Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted October 5, 2003 Doesn't necessarily mean JJ's getting the belt or jobbing it to Hogan. But this will be a huge shot in the arm for TNA even if Hogan only does a few appearances.

Silence 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2003 I guess this spells the end for TNA. It could have been WWE's biggest competitor starting in 2002, but Russo, Gilberti, Jarrett politics, and the hiring of old stars like Dusty Rhodes and WWE rejects like Ekmo/Jamal have sealed this promotion's fate, and with Hogan about to appear on TNA shows, TNA's future now seems more bleak than ever. Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted October 5, 2003 How so? Actually getting big name talent for the promotion so more WWF fans will want to watch? Someone who could easily shoot them up to a higher consistent buyrate. Someone who's name alone could get them a tv deal. Mantel and Hogan probably mean Russo's going bye bye or seeing a greatly diminished role. You guys bitch and bitch about Jarrett but you never mention the fact that Styles has had the belt for a long time. At least Jarrett didn't take the belt right back like some other folks would. Hell you don't even know if he's going to get it back. And Ekmo isn't the end of the world. He hasn't been that bad. There are worse wrestlers out there. Guest Dave O'Neill, Journalist Report post Posted October 5, 2003 But, Hey, it was fun while it lasted Actually, it wasnt, the promotion died when they refused to put the belt on Raven
Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted October 5, 2003 Geez you sound like every other person that's predicted the death of the promotion every week for the last 16 months. Get a clue. No one gave it more than a few months originally.
cynicalprofit 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2003 WOW, once again Hogan comes back for a job he thinks he is owed. (Ok, Jarrett did lay down and all, but you just know Hogan wanted to pin him 1-2-3, dead in the center of the ring.) I'll give muuch props to Jarreet for beig a true professional by being willing to work with Hogan again, considering how Hogan thought Jarrett wa beneath him and all. Shoot on him Jeff, Shoot. Become my hero and put the old man directly in his place.
Guest Dave O'Neill, Journalist Report post Posted October 5, 2003 Um...hello, they have the most over person in the entire promotion feuding with a manager...theyre going to die
Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2003 A few things... This means the obvious double turn (Styles to a face, Jarrett to a heel) will happen during their title match. JJ and Russo will *finally* align. Hogan's name attatched to the promotion will mean more mainstream appeal and attention. You people act like Hogan is coming in, winning the belt, putting the tag straps on Duggan and Beefcake, and then going off to make another movie. I don't think TNA is that stupid. Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2003 Um...hello, they have the most over person in the entire promotion feuding with a manager...theyre going to die And that feud has gotten the most heat and been incredibly well-booked. He's not feuding with the manager IN THE RING, he's feuding with people being brought in to take him out. Hell half the people here HATE Shane Douglas (not me, I'm a mark) but all agree that the matches with Raven have been well booked and fun.

Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted October 5, 2003 Yeah and when has Panda interfered since they've owned them.......... Oh that's right they haven't.
Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2003 Yes but the Panda Marks are, and If Higan says Jump, they will Panda invests money, they don't book the shows. I'm pretty sure that Jerry Jarrett of all people will know what's going to sink or swim his company.

(Ok, Jarrett did lay down and all, but you just know Hogan wanted to pin him 1-2-3, dead in the center of the ring.) Considering Hogan hasn't got one job back in his WWF/E tenure- what makes you think he cares about Jeff Jarrett? I'll give muuch props to Jarreet for beig a true professional by being willing to work with Hogan again, considering how Hogan thought Jarrett wa beneath him and all. The truth hurts Jeff. You ARE beneat him. Shoot on him Jeff, Shoot. Become my hero and put the old man directly in his place. You make no sense. Jarrett is BENEATH Hogan.
Guest Dave O'Neill, Journalist Report post Posted October 5, 2003 So Mad Dog, are you Jeff Jarrett's personal fog horn or something...because anytime anyone makes a legit point about this joke a promotion, your right there to defend them???

What was the legit point? Has Panda pandered to ANYONE in the promotion thus far? They're INVESTORS. They aren't a bunch of marks who started a company and run the day to day operation. And they deal with Jeff and Daddy, who tell them (and the fans, unfortuneatly, what they want them to hear, like bringing in Hogan will be good for business, and not what they need to hear, like that the scruff from Jersey is the best thing in the promotion, and they should give him a payrise. Guest Dave O'Neill, Journalist Report post Posted October 5, 2003 And yes, Im a huge Raven mark, and its probably clouding my judgement
Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted October 5, 2003 I'm defending against irrational reasons. You just spout of accusations with no evidence at all. I've never heard of one instance where Panda has made the Jarrett's do anything other than ask to be educated on the wrestling buisness. And your acting like a compnay that admits it knows nothing about wrestling is pulling all the strings of the promotion. EDIT: I have a lot of problems with the promotion but I understand from a business standpoint that they need mainstream names to bring people in so they can become familar with the AJ Styles and AMW's of the promotion. Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2003 And yes, Im a huge Raven mark, and its probably clouding my judgement I can't see how being a Raven mark is clouding your judgement, when his feud has been one of the most consistent and thought out. He's fighting hired goons, guys with name recognition, that are being sent after him by a manager. The way you say "he's feuding with a manager" makes it sound like when Ultimate Warrior fought Bobby Heenan in "weasel suit matches". Mitchell hasn't been involved in any of the in-ring action, the heat has been great, and guys like Julio, Punk, Slash et al are getting more over by the feud as well. Onto the JJ/Hogan thing, I'm pretty damn sure Jarrett of all people will not cater to Hogan's ego, so why worry? Yeah sure Jarrett is gonna get the belt again, honestly I think just so they can do Raven/JJ II and get the belt on Raven finally. If Hogan EVER got the belt, I think it'd be more or less a transition move to give the title some cred, and then put over someone more worthwhile.

Styles 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2003 Haters be damned, this is awesome news. First of all, Vince Mcmahon has to be freaking. He doesn't want Hogan making anyone else money, and was probably confident he would get him back for WMXX (which he still will gobble him up for). Second of all, I see no problem with Hogan coming in for one heavily hyped appearence to attract new viewers, ala Sting. Third, as mentioned he's not going to be there permenantly, he's heading straight back to WWE, especially when Vince realizes Hogan wasn't joking about helping the competition, and this appearence might just be what TNA needs to get a cable outlet. Hogan still attracts the TV execs. Great move, TNA.
Guest Dave O'Neill, Journalist Report post Posted October 5, 2003 Panda asked them to cut down on the swearing, and the chicks wrestling and stuff. And to be fair, Panda is pulling the strings, they see something they dont like, and theyll disapearr with the cash, and if that happens, all the decent workers will go, and Jeff will be like, "DADDY, I'm keeping the belt because there's no-one except Cheex and Monty Brown to defend it against"

Had he stuck around, I think he'd be a fairly over midcarder.
