WWE Banning Even More Moves

Recommended Posts

The agents had another meeting with the wrestlers this week once again stressed the company’s concern with injuries. They stressed that they want the workers to protect their necks and reiterated that the company is concerned about the number of injuries that the talent has suffered, especially to their necks. They once again told the talent to stop doing certain moves, I believe one of which was the belly-to-belly suplex.

What?

So now their banning simple transition moves that no one ever gets hurt doing? How long till we're left with punches, kicks and the spinebuster as all people can do?

Well I guess they'd never make Trips stop doing the Pedigree.

Do that many workers get injured by simple moves? It's funny because when most moves that are banned were allowed, you didn't see too many injuries, but now, with the bland WWE style, more workers get hurt.

It isn't a specific move that's injuring people...it's the principle of flexability vs. muscle mass.

HHH is oft injured...and has 0 flexability and a ton of muscle.

RVD is never injured...and has a ton of flexability and 0 muscle mass.

Which one takes the harder bumps night in and night out?

That's what Vince seems to not understand with wanting his guys to look like roided up freaks. If he wasn't constantly pushing for guys to add muscle mass there would be fewer injuries. Guys like Batista will always get hurt easily compared to Matt Hardy.

One would have thought that the onset of FREAKING TELEVISION would have made the need for everyone to BE larger than life go away and replaced by the ability to APPEAR larger than life.

They aren't running stadium shows with no big screen monitors anymore for Pete's sake.

I'm telling you.

It's all about the body.

a guy shaped like Steiner, Brock or Trips are far more likely to gte injured on a basic move than a guy like Jericho, RVD or Hurricane are on harder moves.

Who's getting hurt w/ belly-to-belly suplexes? Sure, Benoit landed wrong last week, but has anybody else gotten hurt from taking one lately?

A better idea would be cutting down on chair shots and people going through tables.

[Mark Mode]If they really want to prevent injury, then damnit to hell, they should ban the firey pits and the insane transfers from being at the arenas.[/Mark Mode]

Alot of it has to do with the sheer amount of bumps they take - wrestling 4 days a week all year is something only WWE wrestlers do.

When you have high muscle mass and look like Trips, Steiner, Batista you lose a lot of flexibility. Also when you get to a certain point it's a strain on your body.

If you ever watch one of those contests where the guys are just ripped. Know that if you see them out of contest season and your going to see someone fairly chubby and not so ripped. Also note guys in strong man contests where flexibility and stuff is needed that they are not ripped what so ever.

Well first off half the Japaneese Wrestlers are crippled ten years later and are shells of what they used to be.

Secondly, the touring schedule of the WWE grinds everyone down to freaking powder eventually and if they were to let up on that the number of injuries would shrink dramatically.

Thirdly I think its hysterical that guys like John Tenta and Ray Traylor were never hurt. It makes me chuckle.

Doesn't necessarily mean they were never hurt.

Just not bad enough to miss time.

If this is true then it's because of the impact it has on the spine. They go over and land flat which makes your spine shoot up or down. There is a reason why when a guy jumps off the second rope to hit an elbow drop they turn their body to come down sideways instead of straight. It takes the pressure off.

Now, we need to find out who complained?

Wouldn't banning the belly to belly leading next to the spine buster?

This should be a thread of it's own.........like a word association thread.......start with a move to be banned and then the next person name a similar move which would be banned next.

Again, take a look at who reported this. I don't trust 1wrestling.com with any WWE stories. A certain fat, bald headed guy that works for another is half owner of the site. All they do is make things seem like they're as negative as possible for WWE. There's often times similar types of issues with these other promotiona and they're never reported. I mean just look at the post talking about Edge's recent WWE.com column. He wasn't actually trying to say what they are implying.
