Kaertos 0 Report post Posted October 13, 2003 Boromir in "The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring" This chokes me up everytime. "I would have followed you until the end my brother... my captain... my king." Darth Vader (Anakin Skywalker) in "Return of the Jedi" Great scene that ties up so many little things about the father / son relationship. "Just for once, let me look on you with my own eyes." Mufasa in "The Lion King" One of the saddest moments I have ever seen in any movie, let alone an animated movie. "C'mon Dad, get up. We gotta go." William Wallace in "Braveheart" Another one that gets me all choked up every time I see it. "Freeeeedommmmm!" Lt. Coffee in "The Abyss" That horrified, scared look on his face as he sinks away from Bud and Linsey's sub is great. Skeld (?) in "The 13th Warrior" This is a movie full of good death scenes and this is a subtle and good one. "There'll be no more running for me. Today was a good day." Buliwyf in "The 13th Warrior" One of the best fight to the death scenes ever. "Lo , there do I see my father . Lo , there do I see my mother and my sisters and my brothers . Lo, do I see the line of my people back to begining . Lo , do they call to me . They bid me take my place among them in the halls of Valhala ...Where the brave..shall live......Forever ." "Bruce" the shark in "Jaws" Great ending to one of my favorite movies ever. "Smile you son of a ..." BOOM!! Captain Vasily Borodin in "The Hunt for Red October" Very sad, and I totally didn't see it coming the first time I saw the movie. "I always wanted to see Montana." D'Artagnan in "The Man in the Iron Mask Great fight to the finish before this with an awesome payoff. "He was the best of us all." Count Rugen in "The Princess Bride" How could you not love this? "I want my father back you son of bitch." Khan in "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan "From Hell's Heart I stab at thee. For hate's sake, I spit my last breath at thee." Spock in "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan "I have been and always shall be your friend. Live long and prosper."

Movie scenes don't leave me speechless that one did. Assault on Precinct 13 And I don't remember ever being as shcoekd at a movie death. It was just in such cold blood and in movies little kids odn't die like that, it's like a rule. Kick ass movie though.

DangerousDamon 0 Report post Posted October 13, 2003 First off, Isaac Hayes DOES NOT die in I'm Gonna Git You Sucka. Bernie Casey clearly states later than the bullets missed every vital organ and he would be ok. I've seen that movie about 1000 times. To me, death scenes begin and end with Cagney: --The legendary "top of the world!" ending to White Heat. --His chilling phony coward act as he goes to the chair in Angels With Dirty Faces. --Dying on the church steps at the end of the Roaring Twenties. --Not exactly ONE scene but I like how he shoots everyone in the Public Enemy and comes out riddled with bullets..."I ain't so tough...." then falls down in the gutter. Next scene they deliver his dead body to his front door and his brother opens it. oops.............. you're right dude, i apologize for being an asshole. kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted October 13, 2003 when Indiana Jones shoots the sword Weilding maniac. It's classic. I always found this story to be amusing regarding that death... <<<The scene in Cairo in which Indy just shoots a sword-wielding man was intended to be a long, choreographed fight scene featuring Indy's whip versus the Arab man's saber. 'Harrison Ford' , suffering from dysentery after three months of filming in Tunisia, couldn't face the three additional days of filming and suggested that this much shorter version should be tried instead. Some sources attribute the idea to Steven Spielberg rather than to Ford.>>>
BlackFlagg 0 Report post Posted October 14, 2003 the torture/death scene at the end of Braveheart is really powerful. Another funny one, the guy that gets cut in half by the wire in Die Hard with a Vengence. "Get his legs." then they drag him off...side by side, heh.
the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted October 14, 2003 I'll throw in a vote for Braveheart as well, because it provided one of my favorite movie experiences ever. Watching the movie with a girl, when he drops the cloth she says "Well, at least they didn't hurt him." WTF?!? Everyone yelled at her, and a good time was had by all. Except her. Also, the next week, same girl watches American History X. The scene after the jail rape, where Norton is walking funny, she timidly asks, "Did they cut him?" Another girl just yells "No, they fucked him in the ass, moron." Makes me wish you needed to get a license or permit to watch movies.

Guest Eric the Eagle Report post Posted October 18, 2003 Let's see... Right up until the terribly silly explosion, the main bad guy from "The Breed". Just for the look on his face when he realises what the hero (whose name I forget) is stuffing a hand grenade down the hole in his stomach... The vampire who taks forever to die In the Buffy movie. Especially when he pops back up to die some more during the credits. The mad handyman in "Christina's House". OUCH! Even better, actually, is how said handyman casually kills Christina's boyfriend. Oh, and yes, Boromir's death scene is indeed excellent. Only one to really come close to Buliwyf's at the end of the 13th Warrior.
