They have no DJs, no rapping and Amy Lee never Screams at the top of her lungs...no...I don't see the resemblance. I do give you that the musical arrangements are the most complicated things in the world but they are definately not bad. One night last week I got home from work and caught "Not Another Teen Movie" on Cinamax, so I started watching it since I haven't seen it since it came out in 2001. Anyway, what band do I see playing the prom in the movie? Why, it's Good Charlotte! No punk attitude. No black make-up. Just 4/5 clean cut kids covering pop songs like "I want candy" and "Put your head on my shoulder." I know it was a movie and they were paid to be that way (or were they always "punk?") but I thought it was funny seeing MTV's favorite little rebellious punk rockers doing those songs. If you watch any of the videos off of their first album, they're all clean cut little kids. The one who acts really hardcore, with all the piercings and everything, just has black, spiky hair with a pink streak in it. That's as punk as they got. Have you ever seen them live? I watched their MTV Rock 'n Roll Museum thing and her voice does not hold up all in concert. You can tell that there's a lot of studio magic going on there. "Fire Water Burn" is still a fantastic track. Jimmy Pop, for all of his "5th grade lyrics" is a pretty decent songwriter with a great sense of humour. I've seen them perform live 4 times, including that one you are talking about, and her voice was still good at the MTV R&R musem thing. It wasn't BAD. She sounded GREAT on that WB(?) concert series they had...yes I watched it....SHUT UP...Jessica Beal was wearing nearly nothing and Gabrielle Union had on the tightest pants ever. I have a excuse.
