Guest NitroJMS Posted October 14, 2003 Report Posted October 14, 2003 Just got home from seeing RAW live at the Mellon Arena in Pittsburgh. First of all, let me say that RVD is a great guy. After the show, I took my 12-year-old cousing to wait by the security gate where the wrestlers typically have their cars parked. Everytime we've done this in the past, the guys have always just hopped in the cars and left. Well tonight, RVD came over and gave my cousin his wrist bands/tape from the night (she was holding an RVD sign), then signed an autograph for a girl in a wheelchair who was next to us. The crowd then proceded to chant "thanks" and "RVD." He really made our night. Also, I don't know if anyone's ever noticed this at a live event before, but during the tables match, JR was oddly rocking back and forth very quickly. It looked like he was having some sort of attack. His head was going down almost to the desk and then he'd bob half way back up and kept repeating this over and over. Maybe he was just checking his monitor? Has anyone seen this happen before? Biggest Pops: Booker T RVD Shawn Michaels Shane McMahon (first appearance) Most Heat: La Resistance/Jericho/Christian Evolution
Guest Fook Posted October 14, 2003 Report Posted October 14, 2003 (edited) Wow, the match was so boring even the announcer was nodding off. Edited October 14, 2003 by Fook_Hing_Ho
Youth N Asia Posted October 14, 2003 Report Posted October 14, 2003 Out of the wrestler I've met the ones who come from ECW are far and away the most fan friendly
Damaramu Posted October 14, 2003 Report Posted October 14, 2003 That's because they've always had to be close to the fans...they weren't exactly giant stars that could be whisked away to there jet where they could smooze with other celebrities...
RavishingRickRudo Posted October 14, 2003 Report Posted October 14, 2003 JR kept fucking up during the 6 man, so there may be something to that.. or JR is just a fucking moron.. I'll take that JR is a fucking moron option.
Bruiser Chong Posted October 14, 2003 Report Posted October 14, 2003 Watching some old WCW PPV's, I've noticed that JR does tend to rock back and forth quite a bit at times, but for reasons I'm not sure of.
cabbageboy Posted October 14, 2003 Report Posted October 14, 2003 Yeah from what I noticed at the now notorious Louisville house show this past week was that the ECW guys (RVD, Dudleys) are easily the best at working a crowd and getting the audience into a match.
Guest Mindless_Aggression Posted October 14, 2003 Report Posted October 14, 2003 I bet JR had to take a REALLY bad crap and just knew he had to hold it for another hour.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted October 14, 2003 Report Posted October 14, 2003 Im surprised no ones said the obvious on the JR thing.
RavishingRickRudo Posted October 14, 2003 Report Posted October 14, 2003 That Test was sucking him off from under the table? ... too obvious.
Damaramu Posted October 14, 2003 Report Posted October 14, 2003 What? That he's jacking off to Austin and Shane?
Guest PowerPB13 Posted October 14, 2003 Report Posted October 14, 2003 (edited) Maybe the Bell's Palsy has frozen his brain now. -Patrick P.S. No disrespect meant to anyone with Bell's Palsy, other than the one that makes an ass of himself on national TV on a weekly basis. Edited October 14, 2003 by PowerPB13
Guest renegade v.1 Posted October 14, 2003 Report Posted October 14, 2003 I bet JR had to take a REALLY bad crap and just knew he had to hold it for another hour. lmao or he could really need to hang a piss and has to squirm around in a chair to hold it in!
Guest Dynamite Kido Posted October 14, 2003 Report Posted October 14, 2003 JR kept fucking up during the 6 man, so there may be something to that.. or JR is just a fucking moron.. I'll take that JR is a fucking moron option. Kudos to you my friend.....
humongous2002 Posted October 14, 2003 Report Posted October 14, 2003 Just get J.R. some depends, an adult diaper.
notJames Posted October 14, 2003 Report Posted October 14, 2003 Two words: "Rene Goulet" JR needs to be put to pasture immediately.
BifEverchad Posted October 14, 2003 Report Posted October 14, 2003 His time has come, where he has to realize that he is no longer NEEDED on WWE TV. He should continue his career in the office, where he will later finish it. But who should replace JR is the question? This all reminds me of when Johnny decided to retire from the Tonight Show, and everyone was wondering who was gonna stand up to the challenge. Who was gonna be good enough to replace a legend. Not saying that JR is actually a 'legend', but he was great at one time. But that time is over.
humongous2002 Posted October 14, 2003 Report Posted October 14, 2003 Joey Styles could do it, if they pay him what he wants.
Insane Bump Machine Posted October 14, 2003 Report Posted October 14, 2003 Joey Styles could do it, if they pay him what he wants. He's even more annoying than Ross. At first they should try to establish a replacement for Lawler and see if JR improves again if he has an actual color guy next to him. If that doesn't work they can worry about a new PBP. The problem, of course, is the fact that WWE doesn't seem to think that their commentating has problems.
RavishingRickRudo Posted October 14, 2003 Report Posted October 14, 2003 Stephen Quadros has applied to be a WWE announcer. Of course, Vince has no idea who Stephen "Best announcer in the world today" Quadros is...
haVoc Posted October 14, 2003 Report Posted October 14, 2003 JR is rumored to be a chain smoker. So going two hours on Raw and three hours on PPV's without nicotine is a bitch. Probably the reason he twitches, fumbles his words and is always acting crazy like he's losing his train of thought. Withdrawl will do that to you.
OldSchoolWrestling Posted October 14, 2003 Report Posted October 14, 2003 Do the man's lips even move when he talks? Does he even have lips? I swear when they show JR talking I feel like I am watching an old Kung-Fu movie.
RavishingRickRudo Posted October 14, 2003 Report Posted October 14, 2003 I feel like I'm watching a muppet. A poorly made, sooner-lovin, muppet.
Guest ManKinnd Posted October 14, 2003 Report Posted October 14, 2003 Stephen Quadros has applied to be a WWE announcer. Of course, Vince has no idea who Stephen "Best announcer in the world today" Quadros is... Best announcer in the world?! Bwahahahahahha. Quadros is terrible, and has never brought any insight to any Pride match I've seen. Instead he rambles off irrelevant dribble to poor Bas, that's if he can ever finish his thought. There's no defending of Quadros.
RavishingRickRudo Posted October 14, 2003 Report Posted October 14, 2003 Well what Pride's have you seen? His Pride 25 announcing was the best announcing I have ever heard in anything. Doesn't bring insight? Poor Mankinnd.
buffybeast Posted October 14, 2003 Report Posted October 14, 2003 I thought they were preparing Coach to take over for JR.
OldSchoolWrestling Posted October 14, 2003 Report Posted October 14, 2003 Coach was nothing more than a pawn to get the hoss announcer over.
RavishingRickRudo Posted October 14, 2003 Report Posted October 14, 2003 They were testing the waters with Coach. Given that they pulled JR back before he was scheduled means that Coach didn't get a positive review; but given that Coach is still working for the company, they probably think "he'll grow into it", as if the last 3 years haven't been enough time.
Mecha Mummy Posted October 14, 2003 Report Posted October 14, 2003 Well, it worked for Michael Cole...
Guest Mindless_Aggression Posted October 14, 2003 Report Posted October 14, 2003 Honestly, when Lawler isn't there and JR ends up doing the commentary by himself (like say in the last TLC match that was on RAW a while back) he's quite good still. Anytime he tries to elaborate though, the King always says something insanely pointless. Although I did enjoy JR's mini rant on the thong the other night. "I'd probably put it on backards!" with "backards" being his version of "backwards" of course.
