BlackFlagg Posted October 19, 2003 Report Posted October 19, 2003 I just watched Becoming Part 2 again and how stupid is it that Spike knocked Drusilla out with a Sleeper Hold!? She's a vampire how would a sleeper hold work on her?? Why is it in Fool for Love, that in the 1880 flashback when Angelus holds Spike's throat, he sounds like he has trouble breathing? It's just whacky Joss physics. We also see their breath in some episodes. Unacceptable! And in Prophecy Girl, Angel can't give Buffy CPR...no breath...yet vamps can smoke Never mind the smoking... if vampires "have no breath", how can they speak? How do their vocal chords vibrate? No, I'd fault the "I have no breath line, ratehr than all the thigns that contradict it. Just because they don't NEED to breathe doesn't mean they don't go through the motions of it.
Guest Eric the Eagle Posted October 19, 2003 Report Posted October 19, 2003 Yes, but Angel specifically says he can't give Buffy CPR, because he "has no breath". Which just gets rather silly.
Mole Posted October 20, 2003 Report Posted October 20, 2003 There are too many little things from Buffy that they messed up on. Give Joss a break! He isn't THAT much of a genious.
Ravenbomb Posted October 20, 2003 Report Posted October 20, 2003 he couldn't have just said he didn't know CPR? I don't know how to do CPR. Beyond pushing on some spot on the chest and blowing into their mouth, I got nothing. As for the vampire sex thing, how do they get hard if there's no blood flowing? If they died with one and it stayed hard like in Clerks I could understand, but if not... and what Joss' stuff lacks in continuity type things, it makes up for in other things...or something...
Mole Posted October 20, 2003 Report Posted October 20, 2003 If these rules were true, then vampires wouldn't be true anyway. They couldn't live, even though they are dead.
LaParkaYourCar Posted October 20, 2003 Report Posted October 20, 2003 he couldn't have just said he didn't know CPR? I don't know how to do CPR. Man I've been wondering about the erection thing for awhile, but didn't really want to ask about it. Technically the would never be able to get hard unless they were always hard or something.
RavishingRickRudo Posted October 20, 2003 Report Posted October 20, 2003 It would be been better off had they be given breath, but since they can't die, they can't drowned or be poisoned though an airborn virus.
BlackFlagg Posted October 20, 2003 Report Posted October 20, 2003 hmmm....how about they can breathe and there lungs can fill but because they don't really work it doesn't filter it like normally? *shrug*
Youth N Asia Posted October 20, 2003 Report Posted October 20, 2003 Yeah, and last season the ubervamp was dunking Spike in water and he was gasping for air.
BorneAgain Posted October 20, 2003 Report Posted October 20, 2003 They need to establish if vampires are cold or are room temperature, cause if its the former, well that makes the events in Surprise and season 6... kinda icky.
Mole Posted October 20, 2003 Report Posted October 20, 2003 Yeah, and last season the ubervamp was dunking Spike in water and he was gasping for air. Maybe he had to get the water out of his body....
Cavi Posted October 20, 2003 Report Posted October 20, 2003 They need to establish if vampires are cold or are room temperature, cause if its the former, well that makes the events in Surprise and season 6... kinda icky. In "The Initiative" from Season Four, when Riley, Graham, and Forrest are looking for Spike and using that temperature sensor, Spike clocks in at room temp.
Guest EQ Posted October 20, 2003 Report Posted October 20, 2003 There have been other times when Vampires have been described as cold on the show (I think)
Mole Posted October 21, 2003 Report Posted October 21, 2003 Yeah, they always talk about how vampires are cold. I remember how Buffy told Angel or Spike how they are cold.
BlackFlagg Posted October 21, 2003 Report Posted October 21, 2003 Finished watching Raiders of the Lost ark and flipped to FX just in time to Spoiler (Highlight to Read): see Tara get shot
HarleyQuinn Posted October 21, 2003 Report Posted October 21, 2003 That and Spoiler (Highlight to Read): Joyce's death are like the most heart wrenching moments I've EVER seen on any television show
Mole Posted October 21, 2003 Report Posted October 21, 2003 For those of you who haven't seen season 7, it starts on FX on Friday at 4.
Tawren Posted October 21, 2003 Report Posted October 21, 2003 That and Spoiler (Highlight to Read): Joyce's death are like the most heart wrenching moments I've EVER seen on any television show The ep. with Spoiler (Highlight to Read): Joyce's death is excellent storytelling. I was shocked when I first re-watched it and noticed that there is no music in the entire episode.
HarleyQuinn Posted October 21, 2003 Report Posted October 21, 2003 Yeah, I love that too cuz it makes the episode more tense and dramatic
Jingus Posted October 21, 2003 Report Posted October 21, 2003 On a kinda related note, I just ran across My Stepmother Is An Alien on cable last night. This movie was made, what, fifteen years ago? It really drives home just how old Alyson Hannigan really is, cause she could've passed for a high school aged kid here. And the weirdest part: at one point, she went out on a date, and I realized that the boy was none other than a really young and dorky-looking Seth Green. Small world.

Small world. heh, yep, couldn't believe how old she is when I first found out. Can't believe she turns 30 next year. Also another interesting note on Seth<who also turns 30 next year one month before Alyson, heh>, he played young Richie in IT.
LaParkaYourCar Posted October 22, 2003 Report Posted October 22, 2003 Her being 30 isn't as unbelievable as James Marsters being 40.
Mole Posted October 22, 2003 Report Posted October 22, 2003 One of my friends told me something interesting. Well I think it is. My friends, Ken, saw a Buffy poster in my room the other week. He was like, you know Warren? I was like, Adam Busch, with a C. He has done some artwork for Adam's band, though the name of the band slips my mind. He was friends with Adam for a while, but they just lost touch with eachother. I guess Adam has a big ego now because he was on Buffy and was a Big Bad.
HollywoodSpikeJenkins Posted October 22, 2003 Report Posted October 22, 2003 Wait.... I missed all of Season 6 and everything in Season 7 except the last two or three episodes. But THAT is how Tara get's killed? Warren shoots her by accident? What happened after Glory boggles her mind or whatever? I've missed a lot of Buffy.
Youth N Asia Posted October 22, 2003 Report Posted October 22, 2003 Tara went back to normal after Glory died...they didn't explain it...but that's just how it seems to happen.
LaParkaYourCar Posted October 22, 2003 Report Posted October 22, 2003 Tara went back to normal after Glory died...they didn't explain it...but that's just how it seems to happen. No remember Willow did a spell on Glory that restored Tara's mental state when they began the attack on Glory at the end of "The Gift"
Youth N Asia Posted October 22, 2003 Report Posted October 22, 2003 hmm...I don't remember Tara playing any role in the fight
