"I Was There" meaning you were in the arena or you saw something with your own two eyes, etc. So...what you were "there" for? "I was there" for: 9/11 The Blackout of 2003 The Blizzard of 1996 Michael Jordan's comeback to MSG where he dropped 55 Reggie Miller's comeback in the final seconds of the Knicks/Pacers playoff, 8 points in a few seconds. Rock vs. Hogan (Wrestlemania 18) Kurt Angle's 1st WWF Title win (No Mercy 2000) The Austin-Beer Truck incident. The Grand Opening of WWF NY The 1st Ring of Honor show. Cartman 0 Report post Posted October 16, 2003 Game 3 of the ALDS in Fenway Park. I sat up in the Green Monster seats because my girl won a lottery to get them. Saw Trot Nixon pinch hit in the 12th inning and hit a game winning Home Run. I was at the Dunkin' Donuts Center(Providence, RI. When Degeneration X re-formed and caused a semi-riot. I was there for a Curt Henning match agains Tatanka, and I was there for the first WWE PPV in Australia in 20 in years. I was also there for two Telstra Dome record crowds of 50 thousand and then 55. Alyn McCauley scores twice as Leafs win 2-1, Ottawa fans throw debris on the ice after tying goal with less than 5 seconds left is disallowed (puck never even went in the net) EDIT: I don't know why I said it was game 2, it was game 4. sfaJack 0 Report post Posted October 16, 2003 I was there for: - Tropical storm Allison flooding Houston in 2001 - The "Corporate Rumble" where Chyna became the 30th man in the Royal Rumble (1999 - only live WWF event I've been to) - Houston Astros setting a team record for runs in an inning (9) vs. the Reds this last July - Emmitt Smith's return to Dallas earlier this month As you can see, my list is pretty pathetic. Biggest thing that I can credit to my name of being there was I got to see and touch Lord Stanley (1990) as it was being shown off around my Aunt's work. Got a bunch of pictures, got Craig Simpson to sign the back of my jersey I was wearing (#20 wooo~!, no that was MY number, not his). Hogan vs Slaughter, aka WM7 89 Bay Area earthquake, though not at the game or anything. Although I did have sex 90 minutes before. 1991 Oakland Hills fires. While not in the fire zone, the whole East Bay was dark due to the smoke. 1999 Tracy, Ca tire fire. I live a mile away. 230,000 pounds of BENZENE put into valley air from 7,000,000 tires on fire. Anyway, my list: Non-Wrestling: -The MOVE bombing and slaughter by Philadelphia Police that made headlines back in 85...barely remember it but it all happened right around the corner from my house. -The Sixers/Miami Heat game in April of 95...which was only notable because before the game, my middle school basketball team was involved in a tournament and we actually got to play on the Spectrum floor. -Blizzard/Ice Storm of 96. -Iverson's gun incident from the summer of 2002...again, happened right around the corner from me, and I happened to be around there when all of the news stations were interviewing his crazy ass family members. Wrestling: -Slamboree 94 -The single greatest wrestling PPV in history, KOTR 95!!!!!!!!!!! -Mind Games...HBK and Foley's MOTYC, and I met Heyman, Sandman and co. -The Raw in 97 where HHH and HBK teamed for the first time. -That Raw in 98 where Taker and Kane revealed their alliance. Kane faught Mankind in a Hell in a Cell match, the Nation humiliated Chyna and HBK came out for the save. -Unforgiven 2000...which, depending on who you ask, was the beginning of the WWF's downward spiral. -Jeff Hardy's I-C Title win over HHH. -The return of the Rock in 2001 and Booker T's 5th WCW Title win. One of the Steelers several shut-outs against Buffalo on MNF (this was was in '93, and I think it was 24-0. It was also the night Barry Foster hurt his ankle and didn't come back that season) I think I was there for Jack Lambert's last game, but I was too young to know better.
