WWE Tries To Resign RVD

Recommended Posts

Raven has gone on record saying many times that he makes more money in TNA and from working indys on weekends then he did in WWE especially from saving travel/road expenses. Dlo has gone on record saying the same thing. Both were virtual jobbers in WWE, that had some name value from before. RVD had at least the same ECW fame, and was considered an upper midcarder in WWE. He might be able to pull in MORE then Raven or Dlo AND get pushed and allowed to work the style he likes AND spend more time with his family off the road. He should sit it out.

Angle and Lesnar can't pop a buyrate.

FIRE THEM!!!

Fire the most overrated wrestler in WWE. No big loss there... :firedevil:

Oh, and while we are on the subject, Goldberg's selling is much better than RVD's.

It's true.

This thread hasn't had anything to do with workrate.

All right...

Goldberg = draw

Van Dam = NOT a draw

Advantage: GOLDBERG~!

Ray the only proof right now Goldberg is a draw would be his crowd reaction, and by that gauge so is RVD.

Goldberg doesn't sell any better his character just makes up for it.

It's like a broken record.

This thread is about RVD's contract situation, the WWE wanting to resign him, whether he should stay or not, what he can make outside of the WWE, the impact on his family and what we'd like to see happen.

But you two pop into every thread with RVD's name, regardless of what the thread is about and post the same thing over and over about shitty workrate and lack of drawing.

There could be a thread about RVD's comic store and HERE COMES RAY AND BIONIC TO EXPLAIN THAT HE CAN'T SELL...COMICS!!!

That's...what's the word when you seek out a thread and take it off topic with the same thing over and over again?

Yeah, then they both suck as workers (although Billy can actually sell a body part) and Goldberg is equally as over, a bigger star and an actual draw at one time.

Goldberg > RVD. You know it, smarks. :headbang:

oh no, it's the dreaded "I'm better than smarks, you dumb smarks" post. I should start setting my watch to those.

So pretty much in other words even if he did suck, all Goldberg has over him is he used to be popular. And he's the champion now. Well, I'm sold. RVD should never ever get the belt and they should probably send him to OVW or something.

RVD has been the most over recently. Goldbergs pops now don't rival RVDs from 6-8 months ago. Goldberg was a draw in the late 90's. He hasn't been a draw now. No one has.

Anyone remember when RVD and Angle fought, and the crowd was torn between chanting "RVD" and "USA"? #1 babyface in the company vs. midcard heel?

RVD has the power to take the crowd into the palm of his hand. If the WWE isn't going to bother using him correctly, he should absolutely go to TNA. If he actually went there, I might be persuaded to purchase a TNA PPV...something that I've never done before. Why? Because we'd see the RVD of old, who is allowed to use his full moveset, who isn't limited to punch, kick, punch, pick, and who would actually be allowed to get over.

TNA=greener pastures. You all know it.

Fuck workrate. The man IS in the second biggest draw on RAW (behind Austin, although Goldberg seems to be getting momentum finally). I enjoy his work, as do others, but you don't. Opinions tend to work that way.

I'm all for RVD in TNA. The prospect of RVD/Daniels or RVD/Styles is appealing, plus he'd be used better (not that it's hard to do). But whatever, it's his decision, & i'll be able to see him either way.

It would be the greatest thing ever if the Raw wrestlers staged a mass walkout right before the show was supposed to start...what the hell would the top brass do then?

I like who entertains me, whether it's through workrate or other factors. I'll leave it at that.

not long after 9-11...and they didn't know to chant USA....if that isn't over, I don't know what is.

RVD should demand higher % points from his merchandise sales and a Main Event PPV title match with him winning the big gold belt and at least 2 defenses on tv one of which will be a PPV.

2 Hours of fake shoot comments by the McMahon family and a Mark Henry vs Randy Orton main event.

Something concerning Vince galloping around the ring with his pants down and a cowboy hat...

*sudders*

I should sue them for burning that image in my head...

To copy another certain star on RAW, RVD should get a world title run clause in his contract if he is to resign. At least, he knows its guaranteed. :D

I could imagine a WCW New Blood type of Raw, except replace Russo with McMahan. And I could imagine Vince saying YOU'RE FIRED in a full rage with veins popping out and have a heart attack on tv. Shane challenging somebody for a revenge gimmick Last Man Standing match, Stephy doing a strip tease with Trish and Stacy.

Whoa! Calm down there man. Do we have an overly sensitive Van Dam fan here?

*ON TOPIC POST*

I hope TNA signs him, because ANYTHING that could hurt Satan, also known as Vince McMahon, is good news to me. I also wouldn't care if he left Raw, as he doesn't entertain me at all.

RVD isn't going anywhere. TNA pay next to nothing in comparison, especially if you include merchandise sales. RVD will sign.

Your basing it on all the wrong thing.

It's not TNA vs. WWE

It's WWE's schedule, headaches and only slightly better pay

vs.

Working anywhere you want pretty much whenever you want.

Have you heard RVD's interviews about the WWE?

People who have already left aren't as angry.

Did you even bother reading my post? Here's the cliff's notes:

-Raven and Dlo Brown are making more money working TNA plus indy dates on the weekend then they did in WWE, since they don't have to pay travel expenses.

-RVD is considered a bigger star then them, therefore would likely make just as much if not more.

RVD will be making more than DLo and Raven did combined in WWE if you factor merchandise sales and PPV bonuses.

If the WWE were doing any kind of good business you'd have a point.

But RVDs shirt and working only half the ppvs a year leads to much less take than it used too.

Plus he's miserable.

It's like...do I want 20 dollars but I have to get kicked in the groin...or 15 dollars and I can not be kicked in the groin?

Seriously, there is a HUGE difference between what RVD is pulling in with WWE than what he could on the indy circuit (and that includes TNA). Granted, he's reportedly miserable which could play a factor in him leaving.

BPS21 has been wonderfully on-point, and accurate - RVD could likely make as much as he does in the WWE by working less dates in the indies and Japan. Thrown in a modest deal in the TNA, which would likely provide a better environment for him to work in, and he could be persuaded to leave when his contract expires.

As for the whole Goldberg vs. RVD debate.....c'mon.

If booked half-way decently, within a month RVD would eclipse Goldberg's drawing power easily. It's arguable that his popularity is already greater than that of Goldie's.
