Guest Evolution Report post Posted October 21, 2004 About the Hall of Fame: The game has automatically inducted Shimetarou Naoki and Shiro Suzuki so far. I actually would like to follow the MLB rules for induction and have some kind of election, but I'd probably need to enlist the help of folks on the OOTP forum to help decide who would go into the Hall of Fame. I would make a ballot, complete with full stats for every retired player of a certain caliber (not every retired player who qualifies), since the first Hall of Fame class should probably be very exclusive. Then I would combine the Hall of Fame votes of people from the players themselves and others who have made an opinion based on the stats at the OOTP forum. I'm still working out the kinks, and it'd be best if all 31 of our players would be available to vote for the Hall of Fame, but asking for that would be a lot to ask for and it would likely take a good long time. So, bottom line: Officially in the game, Shimetarou Naoki and Shiro Suzuki were inducted, but if we follow the MLB rules of induction, no one can be inducted until the end of the 25th SFBL season. Awards/SFBL Players In The News: Monday, April 2nd, 2020: Huge blow for Vancouver's Hermann (non-TSM player), career over VANCOUVER - It was one of the saddest days in Vasectomy franchise history. Vancouver's southpaw Jayme Hermann fell victim to a career ending injury in a game against New Jersey on Monday. He complained about pain after throwing a pitch to Eli Huerta, then suddenly collapsed. Doctors examined him after the game and diagnosed him with a torn ligament in his left elbow which will require surgery. His career featured a record of 178-101 with an ERA of 3.36. It is just good to no longer have to be in AAA or among the bottom each year like Shiro was, and it looks like Chevalier has moved up in the batting order, and the Crunk Machine is leading the wildcard race. Me thinks a most horrible mistake was made...I know Rolf is the closer for Phoenix, but Tiny's player page lists him as a starter, and that is not correct. They were fortunate enough to only drop two games back in the standings and end up in third place behind the Memphis Eels, but this team is quickly looking like a fluke champion at 24-30 through the first two months of the season. Awards/SFBL Players In The News: Wednesday, May 2nd, 2020: Abel Ortiz (non-TSM player) ropes 500th career homerun DENVER - Las Vegas' leftfielder Abel Ortiz was in a good mood after the game against Denver, and he had every reason as he made baseball history while collecting his 500th career homerun. Guest Evolution Report post Posted October 25, 2004 THE SFBL POSTSEASON TOURNAMENT Starting with the 2020 SFBL season, there will be two different postseason events held. The first is the regular postseason to decide a champion for the SFBL, and the other is a special tournament held with the other 16 teams that did not make it into the regular postseason. This tournament is held under triple-elimination rules, and there is a small (yet substantial nonetheless) cash prize waiting for the winner. Teams will be seeded for this tournament by their final win-loss records. There is no discrimination between leagues as in the other postseason bracket; East-West and North-South teams may be facing each other as early as the first round. In the event of a tie in win-loss records, the following tiebreaker system will be used: 1) The team from the league that won the All-Star Game. 2) If both teams are from the same league, the team with the best head-to-head record. 3) If the record is even, the team with the biggest run differential (a formula found by subtracting runs scored from runs allowed) 4) If the run differential is even, then it will be my discretion of who will get the higher seed. The hope is that we don’t get to this point. The results of this tournament will affect nothing more than the cash balance of the top three teams. Draft order will still be determined upon the final win-loss record of this tournament. Prize breakdowns: 1st Place - $1,000,000 2nd Place - $500,000 3rd Place - $250,000 I don’t have an image of what the bracket would look like, but the pairings have been worked on all the way up to the final game that will be held. The plan is to start this tournament right at the beginning of the divisional round of the playoffs, and the plan is for it to end around the same time as the Conference Championships. Off-days will be taken on the same days that the regular postseason takes days off, including between rounds of the playoffs. Angel_Grace_Blue 0 Report post Posted October 25, 2004 I was thinking about waiting it out and everything, but I think I'd like to get Tiny traded to a team that will use him as a closer, or make the changes if that'll get him to be a closer. Though having a 3-4 record with a crappy duration rating isn't bad, especially with Phoenix. Oh, and a Nelson Muntz-esque "ha-ha!" to Jacksonville for being at the bottom of the south division.
