TV DVD Box Sets

Recommended Posts

How is it that with all the TV series being released on season split box sets that shows such as The Cosby Show and Married...With Children aren't on it? I would think those would have been 2 of the first ones released. Any other notable shows that haven't been released?

No, there isn't, and MTV has decreed that since there isn't enough support for one, based on the sales of the two DVD's that they released. I hate MTV.

Some I'm waiting for are Fresh Prince and Roseanne. I'd also like to see Hang-Time get some releases but they get no love.

Heading to reality tv...full shows of Big Brother 4 and American Idol 2(I already have the whole season on vhs but ya know..) on dvd are a demand.

Night Court (I've heard they're going to make box sets out of this show, though..)

Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In. Slowly but surely, this series will eventually be released, either through Rhino or Guthy-Renker's ongoing co-promotion. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like every single episode will be released...which isn't really a bad thing, since the show really went downhill in the last season or two.

The ultimate pipe dream for DVD box sets are the complete MST3K, but that'll never happen. If it was possible, it would be expensive as hell, and would probably cost millions (to purchase the rights to use certain films) just to compile...

While it would be expensive, to be sure, I don't think it'd be a good idea anyway, as not every episode was a great gem, either due to extremely bad movie, not-very-good jokes, or a combination thereof

Though I would very much mark out for complete season 3 (the strongest Joel season IMO) and the complete first Sci-Fi season (Mike's strongest IMO)

Edit: Though it'd be very unlikely to happen, I'd like to see a single DVD release of Phase IV, which was the only good MST episode from when it was a local Minneapolis show

Me.

Don't get me wrong, if I'm ever bored and it's on, I'll watch it and have a good laugh. But I'd never buy a DVD.

I'll buy all 14 seasons if only to find that episode with my cousin on it...

The lesbian one? (Yes I actually found that thread)

But that series is in the works for being put out in box set form.

I'll refrain from the obvious Seinfeld statement, since materials are being prepped for a DVD set sometime in the near future.
