Cuban Linx 0 Report post Posted October 20, 2003 I didn't order and i'm not regretting my decision. From what people have been saying it wasn't as bad as i expected, but i didn't read anything to make me think i missed anything great.
Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted October 20, 2003 I'm touch and go on the subject. Looks bad, but turned out good. Still though, I probably wouldn't have gone or seen it.
Use Your Illusion 0 Report post Posted October 20, 2003 Yesterday, there was NO WAY in hell you could've convinced me to watch that show. However now, I'm definetely getting the DVD. If Vince turned THAT card into something watchable, then he really is a genius UYI
SamoaRowe 0 Report post Posted October 20, 2003 I am always glad to save $34.99. However, I cannot wait to add this to my DVD collection.
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted October 20, 2003 There never has and never will be a PPV worth 34.95 of my dollars. So do I regret it? Hell no. Sounded good but that doesn't mean I would have been glad I ordered it. It could have been the greatest PPV known to man and I still would have been kicking myself for spending 34.95 on it. Guest nikowwf Report post Posted October 20, 2003 It was a show that was heading toward being surprisingly good when they decided to bury Eddy Guerrero for no reason except that he's short. That pissed me off, and made me regret watching the damn thing. niko
SamoaRowe 0 Report post Posted October 20, 2003 Don't get upset until we find out what Eddie's place in Survivor Series will be.
clean rob 0 Report post Posted October 20, 2003 Eddy lost one match, after a good title reign, to a man twice his size who has been built up as a monster, covered in wound dressing from a vicious beating he took prior to the match and the commentators put over so as to make him seem less than 100%. He has not, repeat not, been "buried". Edit: Also, what TMER said.
SamoaRowe 0 Report post Posted October 20, 2003 Yeah, Eddie lost to a 2-time WWE Champion, former WCW Champion, and 500 pound man. The Big Show has also beaten Hulk Hogan, Triple H, Brock Lesnar, and many MANY others in the past, not to mention he headlined a WrestleMania. Eddie didn't exactly lose to a jobber. Fökai 0 Report post Posted October 20, 2003 Wight has always had fun reigns while holding a title. I'm looking forward to see how he defends the title, as well as how he'll eventually lose it down the line.
Jack_Bauer 0 Report post Posted October 20, 2003 Thank fuck I dont have to shell out 35 for a PPV. Mind you, I wouldn't have paid for this event I don't think if I had that chance. But the event was WAAAAAAAAAAY better than I expected, and well done to WWE for that one.
Styles 0 Report post Posted October 20, 2003 No regrets. It would have been ordered on the computer for $17.95. Its gotten mixed reviews, it sounds like a decent show but nothing that great to have to see...
Guest hhheld_down Report post Posted October 20, 2003 im kinda glad i didnt order in a way but I would of loved to see the ME and UTs **** match... thats still shocking the day after... I will wait till december for the dvd though
Guest nikowwf Report post Posted October 20, 2003 Eddie lost CLEAN after doing every move he had, and then was buried in the post match promo. That was not a good loss. niko
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted October 20, 2003 Big Show gave him the rub! This was huge for Eddie! *waits till WWE writer lowers the gun from my head*
HollywoodSpikeJenkins 0 Report post Posted October 20, 2003 Eddie lost CLEAN after doing every move he had, and then was buried in the post match promo. That was not a good loss. niko Mind you, he got his foot on the bottom rope for a chokeslam. Not many people have kicked out of one chokeslam. So, yeah, he lost clean, but after TWO Chokeslams. the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted October 20, 2003 I don't regret not ordering it, because I didn't care about any of it going in. By the reviews it seems there was a lot of decent, average wrestling, with a good Angle/Cena match, and a decent-great UT/Brock match depending on the review. That in itself is not worth $35 dollars, and add in the fact I didn't care about any of the feuds, characters, angles going in makes it worth nothing. Guest THE MIGHTY THOR Report post Posted October 20, 2003 I didn't order it but i saw it for free, and i still felt that i wasted my time, if you love the McMahons to death then this ppv is for you.
Fökai 0 Report post Posted October 20, 2003 Brock jobbed to ONE chokeslam.
Guest nikowwf Report post Posted October 20, 2003 Anybody who thinks Eddy got some kind of rub by them showing that he couldn't beat a bigger man, losing his title, and having the person who won rub in the fact that Eddy couldn't beat him cause he's a little guy must love the WWE right now, cause that's about how they are getting over all of their characters. niko
HollywoodSpikeJenkins 0 Report post Posted October 20, 2003 Dude, Cole and Tazz pushed Eddy's back injuries to as far as they possibly could. Eddy put on a good match with who he had to work with, and not did he kick out of ONE Chokeslam, with the back injuries, (and Brock couldn't kick out of One Chokeslam, even with the rib injury), he got pinned with a SECOND Chokeslam. In my book, Eddie and Show both came off looking good last night.
Guest HHH's 'Roid Needle Report post Posted October 20, 2003 Some of you people are psychotic. Reaching in desperate angst for your box of Kleenex's so you can pull prick over how great it is that the most over guy in the company got jobbed out CLEAN to a no-talent lardass who only holds a job because he is taller than Vince McMahon. That loss is not "good" or "acceptable" by any strectch of the imagination. What has become of this place? Cheering on hosses and ensuring that lazy slobs such as Big Slow and the American Fatass remain at the top of every card? Your collective senses and free thought have been slowly eaten away at. You've been brainwashed. You've become one of them. I hate to be the one to wake you all from your Hossified Wet Dreams, but the LazyTaker/Heatless Wonder match was dreadfully dull. Don't get me wrong, as much as I like punches, stalling, and seeing a 43 year old man lay around and catch his breath, that was NOT a good match. Some screwballs are actually throwing around the dreaded FOUR STARS rating. Yeah. Any main event that involves the Velocity Allstars, a shady electrician, and a 62 year old man interfering is called an OVERBOOKED CLUSTERF*CK. I hope Marky Mark's sheets are nice and soppy after that Creative Team blowjob he received last night. You ever gonna give back, Mark? Isn't it bad enough that you have destroyed Lesnar's career? Do you have to keep rubbing his nose in the shit that you layed? Didn't get to see Tajiri/Rey, but outside of Angle/Cena, that was a PUTRID show.
SamoaRowe 0 Report post Posted October 20, 2003 How the hell did Undertaker ruin Lesnar's career? If my memory suits me right, Lesnar was still getting little to no ovation until he beat 'Taker in the HIAC.
Guest HHH's 'Roid Needle Report post Posted October 20, 2003 You don't recall the first American Fatass/Heatless Wonder match? You don't recall Lesnar getting SQUAHSED, and then getting his assed kicked AFTER the match as well? HITC was their 2nd match, my friend.
Jack_Bauer 0 Report post Posted October 20, 2003 Yup that statement stumped me. Undertaker did not kill Lesnar's career, unless letting him beat UT clean in the middle of the ring, in his own kind of match is killing a career. The HIAC helped matters. What happened on Sunday didn't kill the career of Lesnar either.
Guest HHH's 'Roid Needle Report post Posted October 20, 2003 Lesnar getting destoyed in the first match ended whatever Lesnar could have had. Had Marky put him over, CLEAN, in their first match, Lesnar would have been this huge unstoppable monster, which is what the WWE wants him to be. However, UT wouldn't let that happen, so he had to get the first win. Its all about timing people. I absolutely HATE the whole "I'll let you beat me, but only AFTER I beat and humiliate you first."
Jack_Bauer 0 Report post Posted October 20, 2003 The fact remains that it did not kill the career of Lesnar.
Guest HHH's 'Roid Needle Report post Posted October 20, 2003 We could debate this point all afternoon. Here is my concession, then. Did he KILL the career of Lesnar? Well, no. However, did he stump its growth and sabotage it into retardation on the launchpad, yes. If Taker puts him over clean the 1st time, a star is born. He doesn't. Therefore, Lesnar is the Heatless Wonder. He's just another guy with the belt, who gets mediocre crowd reactions. TIMING. Austin/Angle. Ever hear a crowd that loud? Nope. Austin beat him. Angle has NEVER gotten that over since. Jericho/HHH. Ever hear a crowd that loud? Nope. HHH beat him. Jericho has NEVER gotten that over since. Jeff Hardy. Goldberg just a couple months ago. The list goes on and on. Its a long string of not capturing the moment. I believe the correct term is "tit for tat" booking. It keeps one person from getting over another. The belief that they can just redo the match and give the other guy the win to make it that much more special is not true.
Jack_Bauer 0 Report post Posted October 20, 2003 The thing is Kurt Angle and Chris Jericho will ALWAYS be over with the crowd. As for Lesnar, I think a fued with The Big Show didnt help matters before his match with Kurt Angle at Wrestlemania XIX. WWE gave us no reason to care about that match, and then he fucked his big spot. It wasn't just Undertaker, it was retarded booking the rest of the way as well.
