Smackdown Spoilers Thread

The wrestling itself doesn't look too bad. But the booking just goes completely against everything that has ever made sense in wrestling.

It clears up a bunch of my problems.

1. Vince fucks Sable - Vince says he is going to hell, so fuck it all. *of course, this still doesn't stop Vince from being on TV or me from caring, but it's a nice lil character twist that I hope they follow up on - by that I mean, if McMahon has to be on TV, at least have him making himself go to hell in a handbasket and therefore giving the Buried Alive match an added layer.

2. Benoit took the chair from Albert and hit Angle. Angle tried to hit Benoit but he missed. Benoit had Angle in the Crossface, Angle couldn't get the anklelock on Benoit.. advantage, Benoit.

3. Eddie being too beat up storyline is not bad, cause it allows the crowd to sympathize with him. Eddie is too tired to cheat, hopefully they will play this up with Chavo out-cheating his uncle, and Eddie being worked-to-death.

4. Taker vs. Brock/Show doesn't seem like the total disaster it appeared to be on paper. Still could have been done better and didn't have to involved the 2 champions losing to 1 guy.

5. The Yakuza move has me interested.

You know, somehow, I knew that they were gonna fuck up Heyman's return, as well as Smackdown. I'd like to know who booked this week's Smackdown show. Steph? Vince? HHH? I mean, come on, this weeks RAW is looking much better than SD, IMO.

Next Weeks Smackdown:

*Voice over*

It's been over a decade in the making

Gene Oakerland: For the longest time, wrestling fans have wanted to see Vince McMahon against the Undertaker.

Heenan: I remember the first time seeing this guy come out, he's HUGE. *Footage of SS90* He completely destroys everyone. From that moment on, all I could ever think about was "how can Vince McMahon contain such a monster".

Bruce Prichard: I was the one who helped introduce the Undertaker to the World of Sports Entertainment. Never in my wildest dreams have I ever thought that his name would be synonymous with "Wrestlemania" and "Survivor Series" and the WWE in general. The guy is a legend, an absolute legend.

Gene Oakerland: I've seen em all. Hogan, Savage, The Rock, Bruno Sammartino, Buddy Rogers, Vern Gagne, Lou Thesz... and I can tell you this right now, I have seen no one like the Undertaker.

Vince McMahon vs. The Undertaker

Pat Patterson: Some people say that Vince Mcmahon created the Undertaker...

Gerry Brisco (sitting right beside Pat, inturrupting) ... and some people say that the fans made the Undertaker.

Patterson: I say he made himself.

Brisco: Maybe, Maybe.

Heenan: In one corner you'll have the Undertaker - over a decade of destruction - the deadman - the phenom - the man. And in the other corner you'll have Vince McMahon - the genius - the legend - the boss. You don't, You don't get better than that.

Buried Alive

Steve Austin: Without a doubt, this is the most dangerous match in WWE history. To win you must actually bury your opponent in the ground - alive.

Foley: I've actually been in a buried alive match. I've been in a buried alive match with the Undertaker. My life has never been the same since. That took off more years to my career than anything else... bar none. These two mens lives, it won't be the same either. One of them will be buried 6 feet under, psychologically, that's gotta mess with ya a bit...

Shane McMahon: My Dad, my dad is crazy. He's been that way his whole life. He'll do anything to win, and he has, but I think he might actually has biten off more than he can chew with the Undertaker. This match, this match could cost him his life.

Kane: The Undertaker is my brother, I've fought him in the ring, outside of the ring, all over. He's a tough sonofabitch. But I've also fought McMahons, and they don't give up. They will take you down with them, and if push comes to shove, I think Vince McMahon will take the Undertaker down into the grave with him rather than lose the match.

Heenan: Never, never in my life have I seen something like this, this is huge. HUGE.

Oakerland: I will be watching this for sure, but I might have my hands over my eyes for parts of it. It will be a historic moment, that's for sure.

Bob Costas: Vince McMahon vs. the Undermaker is something that reminds me about watching wrestling on the radio, it's just magical... what? Oh, the Undertaker... Whatever *throws script up in the air*

Arnold: Thees is ab-so-LUTely mag-i-cal, Vince McMayon is the guy, he is the guy. But theee Undatayka is the man too. So he-ah we have two men, and it's mag-i-cal. It's like me and Grey Davis, a small kid from AUSTRIA who is a movie stah against thees guy who has turned Cal-i-fornya into a disasta arweea, you know, it's exactly like that. Only in the WWE, only in the WWE can you see thees happun.

The Undertaker...

Vince McMahon...

Survivor Series...

BURIED ALIVE...

Just to let you know RRR if the WWE does a video package just like the one you just wrote you are SO going to be hunted down like a dog and shot.

Vince announces the new Smackdown General Manager who is currently unemployed - Paul Heyman!

For once, Vince does something right.

-GOD'S TEAM!!! (Kurt Angle & Chris Benoit) vs. John Cena & A-Train

Heh, the MA guys team up.

Haas and Benjamin come out for their match.. against Rikishi and SCOTTY 2 HOTTY!

I called it!

After the match Josh Matthews came out to the ramp to interview the Bashams after their title win. The Bashams said that they told everyone that they could do it.

This is AWESOME! I'm a HUGE Bashams fan. Yeah, congrats Doug and Danny!

Tajiri vs. Zach Gowen for the Cruiserweight Title was next.

So Zach gets title shots now...

*groans

A pre-taped vignette was aired with Hardcore Holly calling out Brock Lesnar and saying that Lesnar broke his neck, but when Holly comes back he's coming for Lesnar

I hope Bob gets his ass kicked again! :D

Vince McMahon vs. Undertaker Buried Alive at Survivor Series!

Wow, haven't seen a Buried Alive match since 1999.

SD sounds awesome this week.

Second set of spoilers from 1bob:

Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin were in the back getting ready for their title match when Heyman came in and changed the match because he never received any "get well" wishes from Haas or Benjamin when he was out. Instead, Heyman books them in a match against Rikishi and Scotty 2 Hotty...Good to see Scotty back!! The match was a total squash though, as Rikishi got the pin after sitting on Benjamin, who couldn't reverse a sunset flip.

::shakes head::

Sigh...

Glad I saved my money.

Eddie lost both titles in one week. This better lead to something bigger then a feud with Chavo.

Are the Bashams over live?

I don't know what to say about WGTT being jobbed out to those clowns.

Taker gets his win back over the World Champion and now we get a "good" month of Vince/Taker build for Survivor Series. YaY.

Brock goes onto where now? One rumor was Eddie but that doesn't look to be happening. Another rumor was Benoit. Benoit and Angle look to be feuding again. I could deal with a 3 way between these guys at Survivor Series. If they do go here then you know WWE will stink it up be making it a 4 way with Big Show.

Good to see Heyman back. But, if he stays heel then you know he's going to become Vince's personal lacky/bitch.

When I was in El Paso, they got booed when they came out. Some reaction is better than none.

Most of it makes sense booking wise except for the WGTT and Taker/Brock/TBS match....ok, lots of it doesn't make sense.

At first I thought maybe they sell the injury of Shelton as ring rust. Then you realize fat ass and spike haired freak just signed new deals so the WWE is going to want the "new investments" to get a much deserved push (if I could roll my eyes on here I would)

So I guess it'll be Doug and Danny Bondage vs Too Contracts that shouldn't have happened for the World titles at SS? Already I shutter in horror.

Eddie went from US champion to feuding with his brother Chavo? Why does this not work as the Owen/Hitman feud once did....cause Owen was jealous of his brother's success. What does Chavo have to be jealous of? That his poor hurt brother can't win matches? Yeah, this feud will help both guys so much. Eddie should have kept the damn US title, but been so beat up he couldn't hold onto the Tag titles and THEN the jealous angle still works! WHAT IS THE POINT OF BIG SHOW WITH THE BELT!?!?!

Oh I see....we have to make Taker look good for his match with old Vince. Great! Good to see the US title went towards something useful.

And let me get this straight. Gowen is on SD but you DON'T have Matt Hardy ANYWHERE to be seen?

So what? Man beats Sensei then after getting his ass kicked becomes student of Sensei? Did the WWE NOT watch the Karate Kid growing up?

I have nothing more at the moment but this thing has holes all over. None of these angles are starting well, except for Vince/Taker because that is the most important feud in the company right now.

My 2 cents:

Bashams getting the titles changes the division a bit. It means that they'll have title matches against the A.P.A., 2 Cool and hopefully London/Spanky. Also, it looks like they're building up the Yakuza and F.B.I so the division will have a fair few teams, if not neccisarily good ones. Also, this might lead to the WGTT being out of the title hunt for a bit and being part of a bigger storyline, possibly as McMahon stooges. Or they might get burried. Meh.

Eddie getting pinned twice in a week to lose both titles, including Chavo's, sells his injuries and gives the perfect reason for Chavo's heel turn. It might not be a M.E. feud, but it'll be over with the fans, give a few good matches and put both of them over.

Benoit should beat Angle for a title shot at SS. It's the best way to build up a title match when Lesnar is tied up as McMahons stooge for the next moth or so.

Booking = 1 thumb up.

Something tells me it'll be Angle / Benoit next week for the # 1 title shot spot.

This is building to Benoit/Lesnar and the Angle/Cena rematch. Their issue wasn't resolved at No Mercy. Next week, Cena will cost Angle his #1 contendership shot, so Angle will ask for the blowoff match at Survivor Series.
