Guest Mindless_Aggression Report post Posted November 22, 2003 Good Lord. Orlando is insanely bad and their squad isn't THAT horrible overall IMO, I'd say the Knicks suck a lot more on paper at least. When did Brad Miller (one of my draft picks in the Smartmarks fantasy league btw ) become a triple double machine?! He almost had 2 his last couple of games and got one tonight. Guest Mindless_Aggression Report post Posted November 22, 2003 Because he is JOHNNY DAVIS god dammit. So yes, basically, I have no idea.

alfdogg 0 Report post Posted November 24, 2003 Pat Garrity is having knee surgery and could miss the entire rest of the season. The Chicago Sun Times has reported that it is "almost inevitable" Cartwright is done as soon as Friday. Paxson has an assistant ready to take over for the rest of the season, and will apparently go after Doc Rivers at the end of the season. Isiah Thomas is a long shot for the job. The Kings will retire #2, worn by Mitch Richmond, during halftime of the Minn/Sac game on Dec. 5.
alfdogg 0 Report post Posted November 24, 2003 ...Or as soon as today. He's out, on of their assistants was promoted.
ant_7000 0 Report post Posted November 24, 2003 Cartwright is fired, He did the best he could do, they wouldn't play defense for shit, But I think he lost the team after a while. I think should go ahead and trade Rose thats what hurts this team.
alfdogg 0 Report post Posted November 25, 2003 Pete Myers. That's who it was. He was a good hustle-type player in his day, maybe he can instill some of that in Da Bulls.
Ripper 0 Report post Posted November 26, 2003 Since I haven't been here I must instill my thoughts on the early season. 1: The Lakers still need shooters and they play embarassing D. They have had a fortunate schedule so far and will probably win the Pacific(depending on how well Sac plays without Webber). I still don't see them dominating in the playoffs, but they are getting by in those squeakers due to all the vets. BTW, Kobe is gone next year. 2: I know I was the one that said that the Wizards would suck and wouldn't make the playoffs on the back of the overrated Gilbert Arenas. I was wrong. Not about the part that they suck, but I had NO idea the entire east would be so bad(Except the Pacers who are kicking ass) At this pace, a team can win 34 games and get the 8th spot. The Wizards can pull that off. And remember me hypeing Jarvis Hayes...there is the most underhyped rookie, but is putting up great numbers. 3: My suns....sigh. Okay...lets get this straight. So far this year, the Rookie center Zarko Carbaka(or what ever his name is) has scored 14 points in 14 minutes, 11 points in 10 minutes and 9 points in 2 minutes. He is getting around 10 minutes a game. Penny Hardaway is shooting a great percentage, is jumping like he doesn't know his knees are shit, and bringing stability to the court when he gets in the game. Yet JAKE FUCKING VOSKEL AND JOE FUCKING JOHNSON are get 40+ FUCKING MINUTES A GAME AND DOING JACK SHIT WITH IT. Joe Johnson is shooting a whooping 35% from the field...33% from 3...does basically NOTING on the court in the whole game, Jake, while he does hustle, gives them NOTHING on the offensive end...the end where they are struggling. FIRE FRANK JOHNSON AND WE ARE 6 SEED!!! 4: Utah...well...hmph....Jerry Sloan is the man.

Ripper 0 Report post Posted November 26, 2003 Yes, he was the monumental ball of suck that replaced Mike...he couldn't hit a shot outside of 10 feet, and was a average defender but Scottie made everyone on that team look better than they were.

Shanghai Kid 0 Report post Posted November 26, 2003 BTW, Wiz have a better overall team than Boston and Orlando, two teams who were picked to be in the playoffs.

Ripper 0 Report post Posted November 29, 2003 Ripper, what exactly is overrated about Gilbert Arenas? When you have annoucers, sport writers and everyone else under the moon calling him one of the best point guards in the league when he is barely cracking the yop 20 points in the league he is overrated. As seen by his shoot first, second, third, forth, then maybe pass game, to call him a point is a diss on every real point that plays the game. Its good to see Larry Hughes actually running the point there as he should be which is why they aren't as horrible as say...the Magic right now. Remember, I never said he wasn't GOOD, I just said overrated...like I call Jordan SLIGHTLY overrated since everyone pretends that he is the greatest player ever. Guest Redhawk Report post Posted November 29, 2003 I don't remember everyone saying Gilbert Arenas was one of the best PGs in the League; they were saying he *could be* one of the best, which is why he was so sought-after in the offseason. That was all about potential, not about what he'd done so far. So if anything he's just overhyped, not necessarily overrated. And shoot-first PGs are the rule now, not the exception, so you have to stop differentiating between who are the best PGs and who are the best "pure" PGs, because they're most likely one and the same. On a non-related note, where does Danny Fortson's foul on Zarko rank on the "Dirtiest Plays" list?
alfdogg 0 Report post Posted November 29, 2003 Pacers are now 14-2 after last night's win over Philly, in which we held Iverson to a season-low 12 points. We have today off, then we have a BITCH of a back-to-backer as we go to LA against the Lakers and then to Phoenix. Arenas: I agree with Redhawk, he's more overhyped than overrated. He is putting up great numbers, although his turnovers is something to keep an eye on if you're a fantasy guy. But then again, it goes back to what Ripper said when Walker was traded, how the two (Walker and Arenas) had similar stats, but Arenas is praised, while Walker was criticized for his negative points. I'm not necessarily a big fan of his, but Walker, when healthy (he had a couple nagging injuries last season, I believe), is a triple-double machine. But people are quick to point at his attitude and his poor shooting, whereas Arenas can waltz into Washington and guarantee a playoff berth for the Wizards - a team Michael Jordan couldn't take to the playoffs, mind you - without so much as a snicker from anyone in the media. And the Wizards are NOT better than the Celtics. If Stackhouse comes back with his A-game and scores like he did before, than maybe I'll change my tune as far as that's concerned. As far as the Fortson play goes, it's definitely the dirtiest play of this season, but I'd have to get back to you on it's all-time ranking.

EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted November 29, 2003 Bulls trade Jalen Rose, Lonny Baxter, and Donyell Marshall to the Toronto Raptors for Antonio Davis, Jerome Williams, and Chris Jeffries. Good trade for the Raptors. Jalen Rose is vastly overrated, but Donyell Marshall will improve the team. Don't know what the Bulls are thinking here, besides taking the veteran route, which almost never works.

ant_7000 0 Report post Posted December 2, 2003 The Bulls won last night against the Bucks, and finally management realised that Crawford is a 2 Guard and it showed he dropped 30pts 8rebs 8 asst, they need him to score more now because offensively they're not that good. Now they need veteran PG.
Ripper 0 Report post Posted December 2, 2003 They have Scottie. He needs to get off his old ass and play more minutes. And in the "I Hate Joe Johnson" report, Penny Hardaway ONCE AGAIN out played him in 25 to Johnson start and 38 minutes, including a disasterous 4th quarter where the Pacers stole the game. Hardaway is consistantly outplaying the guy night in and night out(although Johnson will blow up for a 20+ night everyonce and a while...not making up for his horrid shooting ever other night) Sit him the FUCK down Frank. razazteca 0 Report post Posted December 2, 2003 Spurs need to hire a Free Throw assistant coach specialist ........yesterday. And shoot more THREE's.
Tony149 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2003 And shoot more THREE's. They'd need to make 'em though. Bowen, who is their 2 pt. specialist, is struggling from the outside. Manu & Parker can make them but when they're cold they're real cold. Horry needs to start shooting it up more as well. I agree with you on the free throws. But we've been saying that for years now. It's kinda funny though, the Spurs are 9-9 but most Spurs fans have don't have a problem with it because of their history of starting off real slow (10-7 last year). Oh, and the Duncan suspension was BS. The ref was totally out of position. What a BS call from the NBA. I wonder how the NBA would of reacted if that happened to one of their "golden boys". The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2003 I'm starting to enjoy following Utah to see how many more games they can win, I mean, they're already at the number of wins they were expected to get for the whole season.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2003 The Spurs is a team full of outside shooters but are not used as much as needed. To me the Spurs depend too much on the inside game, which works with Duncan and Rose but having only 1 of the 3 big guys being effiecent at the Free Throw line is not going to win many games. I would like to see Horry, Turkaglu, Mercer, Ginobili to shoot the 3 at will instead of the 4 passes around the court then to a TRIPLE TEAMED Duncan. Shooting under 40% every game is not going to win many either.

For whatever reason the role players seem to buckle when they're open. That's where Stephen Jackson is missed, but it's his agents fault he isn't here. A win tomorrow over LA would be a big boost to them. By no means is it a must win, but beating a team like LA would do a lot for a team still trying to find themselves.
