Random thoughts:

Who is this Scott Ian character?

Everything he says is negative, he's very unfunny.

Zolta... err... Hal Sparks > you.

Also, The Donger is not a geek, he is still cool.

His comments about Doc Martian boots was entertaining.

Too much Hal Sparks on the show.

Gedde Wantabe and Gilbert Godfrey are the true stars of the show.

I actually like this one better than the original. It's like, they got all the REALLY obvious stuff out of the way in the first run, so now they're free to play with slightly more obscure topics. All I know is I had Chris Jericho on my television, babbling semi-coherently about Donkey Kong. You can't pay for that kind of entertainment.

Agreed.

Godfrey's "What The F***" moments are somewhat entertaining.

Who is this Loni Love ? She's entertaining at times.

Scott Ian is best known as the lead singer of Anthrax.

His comments were accurate and he wasn't trying to do stand up. Several of his comments were humerous due to being true, besides why should he be positive about stuff he didn't like?

He's not the lead singer, he's the guitarist.

Joey Belladano and John Bush were/are the singers for Anthrax

doh!

I guess him being the guy most people think of when you mention Anthrax made me forget that.

I think Ian Black is funny.

That chick from the daily show (Rachel Harris) fucking owns.

"Oh my god they're fucking naked, uggh she's about to have an orgasm!" on About Last Night

" Barbara Streisand and Amy Irving had a great lesbian scene" talking about Yentl

"C. Thomas Howell on outsiders is hot, C. Thomas Howell in Soul Man not hot."

I like this and all but does VH1 understand the idea of OVERKILL?

Showing all 10 eps back to back for like three weeks is just fucking old.

Ian Black is funny but got overpushed with Mo Rocca.

When he comes on I just know I'm going to hate the next minute. He tries to make a joke every time he opens his mouth...and it's usually not funny.

Plus he doesn't know dick about what he's talking about. I'm sure if they did an I love the 1800s he'd go on about how 6 shooters were all the craze (like he was there...like all though I love the 70s)

I just got back from a live show with Mo Rocca here at OU a couple hrs. ago... He talked a bit about the "I Love the ..." series...

Basically, he thought Hal Sparks was absolutely hilarious and was disturbed by the incredible amount of worthless 80s stuff he has memorized (no scripts/clips needed for Sparks... He just started firing away with stuff, word for word).

Rocca said that VH-1 tends to go into overkill with series, first with the all pop-up videos, now all lists shows. He also noted that they'll be doing an I Love the 90s series soon and that the "I Love the..." series will 'probably' be going on for a long time.

Mo also got off a GREAT riff on "Murder She Wrote" that apparently got cut from the show, talking about the ridiculous crime rate in the BFE town in New England where Angela Lansbury lived on the show (I can't remember it word for word and to try to quote it wouldn't do it justice).

Also, Rich Eisen was here back in January. While the "I Love the 80s" hadn't come out yet when he was here, I can definitely tell you that he's every bit as funny live, if not more. He went for 2 solid hours on stage, mostly just answering questions from the crowd (I was really impressed with his improv skills).

Rocca and Eisen both ruled it here on campus and I like them both on the I Love the 80s shows.

Also, being a huge Ed mark, I'm a fan of Michael Ian Black too. One thing I didn't understand was MIB's chyron acknowledged he was from Ed, but Leslie Boone (aka "Molly Hudson" on Ed) was just listed as "actress." Huh?

Yeah, I thought they were jumping the gun with that too... Then again, who am I to talk? My roommate and I threw an "I Love the 90s" party here a couple weeks ago, complete with 90s music, poster with our own cheesy "I Love the 90s" logo and signs with Uncle Joey from Full House and Parker Lewis telling you not to drink if you are under 21.

yeah i mean i love the 90's needs to be held off until what 2008. I love the 80's was good because most of that stuff is at least 15 years old but i mean i love 1999 would just be stupid it would be like "o i remember that it was 5 years ago". To put the time span in perspective, I started high school in 1999, and I'm now a freshman in college so thats what four years

Personally I think Michael Ian Black is a bit overpushed but is funny about 70-75% of the time and about 10% the stuff he says is hillarious. I think they should get rid of Michael Ian Black and Hal Sparks and everyone's who's too young to remember the 60's and do I Love the 60's. They'll need a mostly new cast but it'll be just as funny as 70's and 80's. I Love the 90's is way too soon, wait at least another two years. Hell I'd except another I Love the 70's and hell a third I Love the 80's over I Love the 90's at this point.

They do 70's Strike back, then I Love The 60's, then Return of I Love The 80's, then Return of I Love The 70's, then maybe 60's strike back, and finally I Love The 90's. If they go that route it could be two years.

I don't know if they can squeeze out enough material for Three I Love the 80's and 70's. I'm just mad that I Love the 80's hasn't done Ghostbusters. That was one of the three or four biggest movies of the whole decade.

I think they did that on the first I Love The 80's.
