Nighthawk 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2003 Arby's snuck in after years of having a dog food reputation to because pretty class. But for fast food, best: Carl's Jr. I've only seen em in CA, but they're damn fine worst: Jack in the Box
treble 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2003 Fast food is Wendy's, except for their fries, which are pretty hit or miss but usually don't taste all that well.

Guest The Old Me Report post Posted November 4, 2003 Grottos pizza is pretty good. Outback is the bomb, along with Texas Roadhouse. I'm feelin the Arby's love too.
kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2003 Got a Texas Roadhouse near where I live. I'm VERY impressed with them. I can't comment on fast food, because it really depends on the location of the store. Suburb fast food > Urban fast food For buffets, my fav. is Golden Corral. Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted November 4, 2003 Carl's Jr. is known as Hardee's in other portions of the nation, like the midwest. Lately, I've been calling it Dr. Meat. 1/2-2/3 of a pound of Black Angus does the trick. Arby's is completely and utterly vile. If it doesn't come out of the fry vat, especially requested to be cooked fresh, it's sick. ESPECIALLY considering their prices..good lord. That "slow roasted" beef is indeed slow roasted..unless they get hit with a rush, then the partially slow roasted beef gets speed-nuked until it's a brownish color, which is slopped out to the waiting swine. Guest drdrainoscott Report post Posted November 4, 2003 Normal Restaurant: The Olive Garden Fast Food: Taco Bell Olive Garden may be my least favorite resteraunt of all time. I will never go back there. But to each his own I guess. The Big Bowl is my favorite resteraunt. The Spicy Garlic Cheszuan (sp?) Chicken Noodles is one of the best dishes I've ever had. Was there some kind of buyout of the other company of has it always been like this? I remember seeing Hardee's in Florida but never seen a Carl's Jr. until I went to Oklahoma. It hasn't always been that way, I don't think. I remember when Hardee's adopted the Carl's Jr star logo. I did know they were under the same corporate umbrella, but the menus are slightly different. Hardee's, for example, doesn't have the western burgers (onion rings and bbq sauce), and Carl's Jr doesn't have roast beef I believe, and least that's how it is at the ones I've been to. NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2003 Black Angus is big out here, but I happen to think it is highly overrated. I just went to Olive Garden for the first time in several years and it was a lot better then I remember it being. Romano's Macaroni Grill is great, especially for the affordable prices and takeout service. I'd say the worst is TGIF(Friday's).......that place is such a jip. Worst case of overpricing......especially for a chain. My favorite steakhouse out here is The Hungry Hunter.

sfaJack 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2003 I'd say the worst is TGIF(Friday's).......that place is such a jip. Worst case of overpricing......especially for a chain. TGI Friday's is awful. I've only been there once, but was extremely dissatisfied and will probably never go back. Olive Garden isn't too offensive. The breadsticks are fabulous, and it's a great place to take a date. Every chick I've ever known just loves Olive Garden. My personal favorite restaurant is Pappasito's; it's a Mexican place, but I think it may only be a Houston thing. I don't recall seeing one elsewhere. Best fast food place is Wendy's, no doubt. I love that spicy chicken sandwich. Worst "normal" restaurant is Red Lobster. I'm biased when I say this because I HATE seafood, but this place is overpriced and every fucker I've ever had wait on me there has been a rude, impatient asshole. Worst fast food: Sonic. I've never had a decent meal there, although the cherry limeades almost make up for it the shitty food.
starvenger 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2003 My personal favorite restaurant is Pappasito's; it's a Mexican place, but I think it may only be a Houston thing. I don't recall seeing one elsewhere. I think you're right. Houston is littered with Pappas and Landry's chain restaurants. I'd take El Tiempo over Pappasito's though. Best margaritas I've ever had... Favourite restaurant, period: A Japanese/Korean restaurant called Momoyama in Toronto. Favourite family restaurant: Woody's Outhouse in Windsor, ON. They have the best non-Missouri-style ribs I've ever tasted. Favourite fast food/casual: Chipotle. Least favourite family restaurant: Red Lobster. If you want cheap seafood, you're better off going to Long John Silvers or any random fish and chips place. If you want GOOD seafood, pay the extra money to go to a more upscale restaurant. Least favourite fast food/casual: Boston Market, which has this fascinating ability to consistently undercook their chicken. I've given up on them, and now just buy the whole roasted chickens at Randalls or Kroger.
Guest BobBacklundRules Report post Posted November 5, 2003 The one time I ate at Red Lobster I was served sour milk, literally. I've also ate at Popeyes only once, since I'm from Minnesota. The chicken was alright, but the Mardi Gras Cheescake was the most delicious thing to ever touch the tastebuds of my tounge.

Guest stardust Report post Posted November 5, 2003 I think I have seen several Pappasito's in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Popeyes has the best chicken Golden Chick is in the middle Churches has the worst Yeah, there are a few Pappacito's up here, along with Pappadeux. It's been years since I've eaten at Pappadeux, though (and I'm so spelling that wrong, aren't I?). We also have a ton of Joe's Crab Shack's around here, too (which most everybody agrees that the appeal of Joe's is the atmosphere moreso than the food). Golden Chick is alright, but they're nothing compared to Bush's, which is a similar type of chain in the Waco area. They have the best sweet tea ever. I agree with everyone who said TGIF(Friday's) sucks. Although they make some damned good mud slides. And Johnny Carino's > Olive Garden, IMO.

Guest Nacho Nixon Report post Posted November 5, 2003 Mandarin. Bon-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-g. The worst? Well, Coffee Time sucks. Usually filthy, useless staff, and really, really bad coffee. Someone near me actually managed to lose a franchise, and I always get a laugh out of the sign, which still has the "Coffee" half of the logo, with a cheaply made "4YOU" sign in similar colors stuck up in the outline of the absent "Time" half. Gino's Pizza is pretty weak, too. There was one in North Bay a while back that was really good, but every one I've been to since then has sucked. And it takes effort to make pizza suck. Guest El Satanico Report post Posted November 5, 2003 McDonalds>Hardees They only way McDonalds is better than Hardees is price related. In term of the food McDonalds can't touch Hardees/Carl Jr. Hardees uses thick real meat patties, while McDonalds uses thin processed meat patties. It's not even a contest, unless you're looking for cheap fast food and not $4 restaurant burgers.
Gert T 0 Report post Posted November 5, 2003 Yeah, I'm gonna jump on the TGI Fridays's hate as I have vowed not to do anything but drink beer after beer on Monday nights (at least they have a deal on that) I'd like to give a special mention to Kewpee's in Lima, as you KNOW every time you eat a cheeseburger you will ingest 2 gallons of grease. The naked baby logo is also "interesting".

The chicken was alright, but the Mardi Gras Cheescake was the most delicious thing to ever touch the tastebuds of my tounge. Popeye's spicy chicken sandwich OWNS you. My favorite restaraunt might be Heroes & Legends in Joliet, Illinois. You can't go wrong with a place whose standard burgers are ONE FUCKING POUND. Plus, they serve Guinness. NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted November 5, 2003 Does anyone remember a few years back when there were all these rumors that Olive Garden cooked their food from frozen packages or something. Like the resteraunt ordered them pre-frozen and just heated them up......
