Bored 0 Report post Posted November 5, 2003 From 1bob: Dark Matches: Orlando Jordan d. Bobby Rude Orlando came out to a decent pop in the beginning, but there wasn't much crowd reaction during the match. Bobby Rude received a "we don't know you" chant. Jordan won with his finisher, which I don't know the name of. Rhyno and Horshu d. Tyson Dux and Jason ??? Rhyno came out to a pop as well, and there were plenty of "Gore!" chants. Horshu is a solid big man, and showed off his strength. Tyson Dux is a hell of a dancer. Match ended when Rhyno gored Tyson. Velocity: TWGTT d. Billy Kidman and Funaki Kidman landed a sweet drop kick, and the crowd cheered for Funaki, but TWGTT got the win after Shelton landed the super kick on Funaki, rolling Haas on top for the pin. Shawn O'Haire d. Showtime Eric Young Not great but not awful either. I was just happy to see O'Haire in the ring. Spanky and Paul London d. Moore and Kanyon Spanky had Kanyon in what looked like a face first Russian leg sweep position when London hit the enziguiri on Kanyon. I'm not doing the move justice, but it was nice! Other than that, it was 3 cruiserweights and Kanyon, all being effectively wasted... Rikishi, with Scotty 2 Hotty, d. Chuck Palumbo, with Johnny the Bull End comes after a Banzai drop from Rikishi. Scotty does the worm after the match. Thankfully no Stinkface. Smackdown! Rue comes out to sing America the Beautiful, and that girl has pipes. John Cena d. Rey Mysterio. John comes down to the ring to a great pop and was cheered throughout the match. During his rap he calls Rey the "Mexican Gary Coleman". He then got down to start the match on his knees. Funny stuff. At one point Cena had Rey up in a long hanging vertical suplex. Rey hit a 619 later in the match, but when he went for the West Coast Pop Cena crotched him in mid air, and hit the FU for the win. After the match, Paul Heyman and Team Lesnar came down to the ring, and Heyman tells Cena he has been appointed to Team Lesnar. Cena not quite politely declines, stating he wouldn't fit in on a team of sasquatches. A-Train attacks him from behind, then the rest of Team Lesnar hits the ring for the beatdown on Cena. Brock tags Cena in the dome with a steal chair and lays him out. Cena would be helped to the back by 2 refs. A Train backstage is added to Team Lesnar. Eddie and Chavo are talking backstage. Chavo tells Eddie that he has to win this match for the familia, for the raza, for himself, and most importantly, for Chavo. He throws some guilt Eddie’s way, reminding him that he's the one who was pinned in the match, and the Chavo was the only one who stood by him while he was wrestling his personal demons. Big Show d. Bradshaw Show wins with the chokeslam. Some boring chants, not much to say about this match. Paul with Torrie Wilson backstage, tells her she has 3 minutes to get something done. Plug for SCSA's book. Kurt Angle is on the phone in the locker room when Chris Benoit comes in. Ron Simmons’s doctor has just told Kurt that he will not be competing at Survivor Series. Benoit is trying to calm him down when Torrie comes in to deliver a message from Paul Heyman: Benoit and Angle will face Team Lesnar (minus the Big Show) in the main event. Next was an Undertaker video interview where he states that the time has come for VKM to atone for his sins, invoking the name of Bret Hart, among others. Eddie Guerrero d. The Basham Brothers, with Shaniqua Eddie got great chants all night long and the crowd was solidly behind him. One of the Bashams did get in a nice pumphandle facebuster on Eddie. The end was a bit complicated, but funny. Eddie gets one of the Bashams down and goes up for the frog splash. Shaniqua jumps up on the apron, and tries to interfere with Eddie, who thumbs her in the eye. While the ref is distracted, the Bashams switch places. Eddie looks like he's going for the splash when he seems to notice the switch. He jumps down and snatches the cat o'nine tails from Shaniqua who is still arguing with the ref. After smacking the Basham with it, he then spanks the ref, and tosses it to the Basham boy who is just getting to his feet. While the Basham is trying to explain that he did not spank the ref, Eddie rolls him up for the pin. Latino Heat’s facial expressions are priceless. VKM came out for a promo that was much shorter than I feared it would be. Then again, I was expecting a 20-minute monologue. Ultimo Dragon and Jamie Noble d. Tajiri and Nunzio Not a bad match, but I dream about what these guys could do in the X-division over at TNA. Noble got the pin on Tajiri, and a Survivor Series title match is born. Main Event Benoit and Angle d. Team Lesnar by DQ Angle and Nathan Jones started out in the ring. Brock joined Cole and Tazz on commentary. Benoit took a lot of damage before making the hot tag to Angle. This included a long bear hug from A-Train, which prompted my boyfriend to say that A-Train obviously just wanted to cuddle. Benoit made the hot tag to Angle, who cleaned house. This is when Show came down to interfere. Bradshaw hit the ring after Show. The crowd was chanting for Cena, and he ran down to the ring for the chair. Carnage ensued, and not in a good way. Cena tagged Jones and Morgan with the chair before Show punched it back in to his face. Lesnar worked all three faces over with the chair before Team Lesnar departed, hands in the air, posing for the crowd.

Michrome 0 Report post Posted November 5, 2003 Looks like the Cena face turn went over well. Babyfaces: Eddie, Cena, Angle, Benoit, Undertaker Heels: Lesnar, Albert, Big Show, Matt Morgan, Jones. Anyone else notice a disparity? Turn Angle heel already, he's so much better as one.
Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted November 5, 2003 Yes it was. The WWE Champ is now 0-3 since the PPV.
Michrome 0 Report post Posted November 5, 2003 Addendum: The reason they invoke the name of Bret against Vince is because fans still hate him for it. Bret vs. Vince is the only money match involving a Mcmahon that they have left.
Bored 0 Report post Posted November 5, 2003 Looks like they've dumped the WGTT face turn after cutting out the match last week with the FBI. I'm wondering why they didn't have Jimmy Yang tag with Tajiri?

Guest Mulatto Heat Report post Posted November 5, 2003 From Rajah, a less positive spoiler report (hey, it's a fair warning): John Cena v Rey Mysterio Cena called Mysterio the mexican Gary Coleman continued with a pretty funny freestyle. Standard Mysterio match. Lots of Cena chants. Rey hit the 619. Cena won with his DVD. Paul Heyman comes out with Lesnar, Morgan, Jones and Big Show. Heyman offers Cena, who is still in the ring, the opportunity to join Team Lesnar. Cena takes offense to Heyman's tone and is attacked from behind by A-Train. Morgan and Jones then begin a beatdown on Cena. Show chokeslams him. Jones and Morgan hold Cena up while Lesnar gives him a decent crack in the head with a chair. Big Show v Bradshaw Incredibly boring, incredibly bad. Small but vocal boring chants through the whole match. Big Show wins with a weak chokeslam. Team Lesnar welcomes A-Train aboard their team backstage. Recaps of last week. Heyman is backstage taunting Torri and insinuating she's going to give him fellatio. "I want you to do it with a big smile on your face, and I want you to do it in three minutes" Backstage Kurt is on the phone with Simmons doctor, who says Ron won't be able to wrestle at Survivor Series. Kurt bitches to Benoit and then Torri runs in, telling them that Paul Heyman wants her to tell them that tonights it's Benoit and Angle v Lesnar and A-Train. Benoit looks happy until Torri mentions that Morgan and Jones will also be on Lesnar's team, making it 2 on 4. Chavo tells Eddie that he is banned from ringside and that Uncle Eddie has to win for him. So far, about 20 minutes of backstage stuff, incredibly boring and killing the crowd completely. Undertaker cuts a damn good promo backstage on his upcoming Buried Alive match. More Survivor Series promos - crowd is DEAD. Eddie v Basham Bros. Eddie hits all his signature spots. While he's climbing the rope to give a prone Danny the five-star, Doug switches with his brother. The crowd yells at Eddie what happened, so Eddie just jumps down from the rope and avoids the trap. He then smacks Shaniqua, who's on the apron, and grabs her tassle whip. While Shaniqua is arguing with the ref, Eddie smacks the ref in the ass with the whip and then tosses it to Doug. Ref turns around yelling at Doug until Eddie rolls him up from behind for the win. Decent match, but crowd was already dead from over a half hour of absolutely nothing. Vince McMahon came out and ran his mouth. Said he was going to apologize. Suddenly all the lights went out and a spotlight shown down on him from the ceiling. He got down on one knee, looked up to the heavens and started some funny shit, I couldn't stop laughing. He said he was the chosen one, the one to crush the infidels, destory the meek, etc etc and that he was the chosen one to bury the Undertaker at Survivor Series. The camera then zoomed out on him in one funny ass moment. Noble and Ultimo Dragon v Nunzio and Tajari. I'm so depressed watching this match as I just watched an old ECW PPV the other day and know that I'm going from watching kick-ass Guido and Tajari to their subdued WWE-clones. Decent match nevertheless. Some sound technical wrestling mixed in with some ridiculous somersaults and flips. Dragon finally hit his Asai Moonsault on Nunzio. In the move of the night, Noble arm-dragged Tajari right into a UFC front chokeout which Nunzio broke up with a low dropkick to Noble's face. Forgot the finish, but Noble and Dragon won. Main Event. Lesnar, Morgan, Jones, A-Train v Angle and Benoit Lesnar goes to sit at commentary making it 3 on 1. Angle and Benoit both take a beating during the opening minutes. They get in a few shots, but are destroyed otherwise. Benoit is tossed out of the ring near Lesnar and Brock starts beating him down. Angle scares Brock off to his corner where Lesnar joins the match. Finally, Angle and Benoit start hitting the Germans on the opponents as the Buffalo crowd is actually given something to chair about. Everyone went ape-shit during the last few minutes as Angle busted out his slam and put someone in the ankle lock. Benoit was able to then lock the cross-face on Morgan until Lesnar ended the fun and garnered the DQ by hitting both men with a chair. Brawl ensued. Then, in one of those vaunted cluster-fuck of moves wrestling sequences, everyone began busting out their finishes. Bradshaw rushed ring and joined in. Eventually all the faces were losing until Cena came running out and dished out some punishment. That is, until he got beat down. The massive four then stood victorious in the ring as the show went off the air. Hot finish to a pour show. After cameras stopped rolling the faces collected themselves and walked off. Cena was almost gone until A-Train ran out and jumped him again. A-Train beat him down to the ring, went for the boot, Cena ducked A-Train and hit the DVD to a huge crowd pop. The end. Not worth the ticket price - Biggest Pops 1)Cena 2)Benoit 3)Chuck Palumbo (Not really, but if it were a just world...) Biggest Heat 1) Vince 2) No one. The crowd was luke-warm to most everyone and didn't seem to care. Then again, their really is no one to care about anymore.
Guest OSIcon Report post Posted November 5, 2003 Poor Benoit... Poor, Poor Benoit. Well, there goes that. There goes what? Benoit's push? All he did was play face in peril and then get beat down along with the other top faces to give the heels the edge for the week. I would hardly take that as a sign that they aren't pushing Benoit for real this time or anything. I'm not sure where (if anywhere) they are going with the Benoit push, but I don't think what happens on Smackdown puts a halt to any push he was getting. Smackdown looks about normal. Honestly, these days I just check the spoilers to see what London and Spanly are doing. I've wathced Velocity the last two weeks for the first time in a god knows how long because of them. They've had two pretty fun matches so far and since they get to wrestle actual guys on the roster this time, this week shouldn't be any different.

ISportsFan 0 Report post Posted November 5, 2003 The notion of Benoit bumping for Jones and Morgan sickens me. It sickens me too, but if Jones and Morgan don't look like monsters until Survivor Series the match will have no heat, and whoever takes them down won't get any rub. Would I prefer a better bunch of workers? Yeah, but they're doing a good job with the hole they've dug themselves into. Jason
the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted November 5, 2003 I doubt anyone is going to get a rub from beating Jones, who everyone (mark, smark, adult, child) already knows sucks, or Morgan, who will have about two appearances before his first PPV match. And does anyone else think it is absurd that they will have Cena make the big save, with the face turn, and then get beaten down within 30 seconds.
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted November 5, 2003 I just don't get the mentality here... "Let's build-up Benoit a little bit and then let's break him down right away!" And does anyone else think it is absurd that they will have Cena make the big save, with the face turn, and then get beaten down within 30 seconds. Of course. If it's his big face turn, he needs to look strong. If only they would've been patient, they could have had Cena not run out and see if the crowd would chant for him or not. Then they could capitalize next week by having him make a successful save. It's Wrestling 101 - keep holding something off until the fans are literally begging for it, and it'll mean more when it happens.
the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted November 5, 2003 Yeah, I would have much rather seen them hold off on the face turn. They could have just had, once A-Train jumped Cena and got the spot on Lesnar's team, Angle come up and offer Cena a shot to get revenge on Train. Cena is in the match, but doesn't give a shit about Angle's side. He just wants Train. Then develop from there. Ooh, that was fucking hard. But whenever the face turn happened, this show, he had to be standing tall and it didn't happen.

RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted November 5, 2003 The Cena thing is fine, cause it's more like Cena getting revenge than Cena saving the faces. Next week they will have to do something with Cena, Angle and Benoit - where Benoit and Angle are forced closer together by default because of Cena... Like.. *Benoit and Angle are talking strategy, they have a little dispute - nothing heated, but it shows that they still aren't on the same path* *Cena walks in* Cena: Yo, you wanted to see me. Angle: Yeah Cena: Well you can't see me, remember that! I didn't forget about No Mercy Kurt and.. Angle: I know, I know, thuganomics I know, but we've got to put that behind us now... Me and Chris don't like eachother either, right Chris *both look at Benoit* Benoit: Oh, yeah, that's right. Angle: Exactly, but we're facin some pretty bad dudes who just kicked our ass last week.. Cena: They ain't kick my ass dog, I just had somethin in my eye that's all. *Angle and Benoit look at each other* Cena: Yo, why you two lookin at eachother... you ain't... why the hell did you call me in here anyways???! Angle: We have to go over strategy.. Cean: Strategy, well ok *talks in uberwhite voice* let's see here, we have the big show and he's 500 pounds, and Nathan Jones he was in prison for a while, probably likes it up the ***, and *back to regular thug voice* and I'll beat them all down with my bare hands, they ain't got nothin on John Cena! Angle: That's fine John, but you have to think about your teammates here - you can't just be all wild and crazy cause that will put all of us in harms way.. Cena: I don't have to listen to you, fact is YOU NEED ME, I'm the.. *Benoit cuts in* Benoit: Listen up Cena, you're going to listen or I'll make you listen - those guys you were making fun of - Lesnar, Big Show, Jones, Morgan, Albert... they kicked our ass last week... and I want revenge... I want to make each one of them suffer, and if you stand in my way of doing that then I will take that pain out on you. *Angle steps in between them* Angle: Easy there Chris... settle down...we're all on the same team here... *Bradshaw walks in with a cooler and a cowboy hat on* Bradshaw: Who's ready for some beer!?!
