House Show results for 11.7.03

The crowd wasn’t too big tonight- I was able to move up 14 rows. A lot of sections were tarped off.

Evolution came out first. Ric Flair cut a promo saying that Goldberg was at home and there was no one there to beat so they were going home. This brought out Goldberg and Booker T and we segued into….

Randy Orton/Batista v. Booker T/Goldberg

Booker T played the face-in-peril and made the hot tag to Goldberg who cleaned house. Goldberg jackhammered Orton for the win. Goldberg was limping the whole time.

After the match Booker T did a spinarooni.

Tommy Dreamer v. Kevin Fertig (w/Travis Tomko)

The unknowns are OVW guys and they’re hosses. Tomko distracted the ref after Dreamer hit the DDT. Dreamer went after him and quickly fell prey to Fertig’s move (I forgot) for the win.

Val Venis/Lance Storm v. Jindrak/Cade

The match started out face v. face but then Cade blew out his knee. They did the whole routine and it took forever- I guess they wanted to really convince people Cade was hurt. Of course Cade kicked Venis in the face as he was being carried out. The match was a really good tag match and was given some time. Storm looked very good. Storm and Venis won after a superkick and a Money Shot.

After the match they made each section cheer to determine who got the towel. They ended up giving to a woman.

Hurricane v. Rene Dupree

This was a comedy match at first. Hurricane mocked Rene’s FRENCH HOP OF DEATH and Rene kept riling up the crowd. Hurricane even did a plancha to the outside. Dupree won by holding the tights.

Maven v. Travis Tomko (w/Fertig)

This was bad. No one knew who Tomko was and he didn’t do anything more then a chinlock. The crowd chanted boring and just booed everything the two guys. Dreamer came out and nailed Fertig with a Singapore cane and Maven ended up getting the win.

Trish Stratus/Lita v. Gail Kim/Molly Holly

Stacy Kiebler was the special guest ring announcer and Victoria was the ref. Trish got the big hometown pop.

Victoria clotheslined Lita as she went for Poetry in Motion. Molly then hit the Molly Go Round on Trish but Stacy pulled Victoria out at 2. The faces then cleaned house and Trish hit Molly with the Stratusfaction for the win. After the match Victoria ran in with a chair but the faces moved and it bounced off the ropes and hit her in the face. Trish then draped the Canadian flag over Molly.

RVD/Dudley Boyz v. Chris Jericho/Christian/Mark Henry (w/Teddy Long)

Howard Finkel said that Steve Austin had decided to let the fans pick the match. The fans were already chanted for tables before he read the choices.

The choices were 1) No-DQ 2) Falls Count Anywhere or 3) Tables match.

The tables match was the unanimous choice.

Teddy Long and Chris Jericho both did some mic work. Jericho said: If you fans are stupid enough to think I’m going through a table then you’re stupid enough to think the Leafs are going to win the Stanley Cup!

The match was the longest and best match of the night. They did a bunch of comedy spots mixed in with tag team formula until the match broke down into a pier-6 brawl. Jericho was left alone with the Dudleyz and he got 3Ded for the Dudleyz win.

After the match the Dudleyz and RVD stayed out there for a while having fun with the crowd. They brought in a little boy and gave him a piece of the table and posed for a photo with him. They signed autographs and slapped hands with everyone in reach.

D-Von pointed to the sky while he was heading to the back.

Intermission time.

Kane v. Shane McMahon in a steel cage match

This was real short and real bad. Shane hit a DDT on a chair and then went to climb out. Kane did the zombie situp and tried to pull him back in but he only got a piece of Shane’s jersey and Shane escaped for the win.

It was a fun show even though the wrestling wasn’t all that great. A lot of the wrestlers made sure to slap hands with the fans after their match- it’s good to see them trying to interact more. What the Dudleyz and RVD did was a really cool thing to do and made them the biggest faces of the night.

Return date is February 9th.

Goldberg was limping the whole time.

WTF?

You mean he actually sold the injury that Batista dished out to him or that he was actually hurt?

That's just unreal if you mean the former.

...

You say that like slapping hands is something they have to go out of their way to do.

I'm the biggest Goldber mark here, and even I am shocked. I have to say that I'm rather proud of the big guy.

I'd be proud of him to. A man who has made this his job for five years finally decides to sell.

His generosity out there makes me tear up.

Well at other WWE shows I've never seen them doing it.

And this show they walked around the ring slapping hands, hugging and signing autographs for the fans.

I've never seen that before

That's going out of your way.

Now I understand. High fiving people isn't exactly a chore, but walking around on what should be your time to sign is mighty big.

Wait....Tommy is losing to OVW wrestlers on house shows now?

At least Dreamer is still getting a paycheck but what in the world man? I'd rather see Dreamer than more hosses from OVW.

When The Dudleys fought Conway and Dupree here a few weeks ago at a house show, they took a kid into the ring to take a picture and gave him a piece of the table too. Then they high fived, but no one signed autographs. Seems to be a way to send people out happy.

I can't believe that they haven't just fired Dreamer. He's losing to jobbers now and has no place on Raw thanks to the death of the hardcore division. He was actually getting over and now he's just some guy with a kendo stick.

Bob, is February 9th a house show?

Because I'm not going to crappy house shows after having been to SmackDown tapings and RAW shows the past few months.

They did it at our house show too, back on October 5th. Seems like they've been doing that all over North America for months now.

Oh, and how much were tickets bob?

Why would they fire him? He is their number one glorified jobber. They know he is a good company man, I am sure he will become an agent and have a good job for years to come.

February 9th is a live RAW.

Tickets were $28 but I was able to easily move down into the more expensive seats.

And Dreamer jobbing pissed me off as well. It's a house show- just put the face over

Vintage Jericho. :headbang:

Though I think his best heel promo in was during WCW's first Nitro in Toronto.

But it's a house show LOTC- it's pointless to bring a sign.

Not really. If Wrestler X sees your sign supporting him, he'll probably point you out. RVD did it, so did the Dudleyz at the one I went to. Hell, there was a sign that said "Rick Flair is HHH's bitch" and HHH pointed it out to Flair with him doing his classic "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" gesture. Just seeing his reaction to the sign was damn hilarious.

I think the Dudleyz always bring in a kid at house shows because they also did it at mine.

Oh yeah and how could I forget Jericho's promo that night...

Chris Jericho: Are all you New Mexico people this ugly?

*gets hella booed, sees a sign saying "Y2J is where brain cells go to die! and reads it to us"

Chris Jericho: HAHAHA! No, no, no! ALBUQUERQUE is where brain cells go to die!

*gets booed some more with a big grin on his face (like this: :D)

Goldberg has been seeling like a motherfucker since Backlash. I don't know what everyone else is seeing.
