Aero 0 Report post Posted November 11, 2003 Kurt Angle has once again started to feel pain in his surgically repaired neck. Angle had an MRI done and WWE is now waiting for the results. He worked the house shows over the weekend in a protected role as part of Survivor Series style matches. Angle is still set to work the Survivor Series PPV this Sunday but anything involving pain in the neck is an obvious concern for WWE. Angle had surgery on his neck earlier this year and returned very quickly to the ring. At the time of the initial surgery plans, many thought Angle would be forced to retire. Jack_Bauer 0 Report post Posted November 11, 2003 OK, I am a big time Angle fan, but I think Angle should either take a REALLY long break or he should just retire, because he's gonna end up messed up big time.
tpww7 0 Report post Posted November 11, 2003 Thats a good reason why Angle did all of 3 moves at the show last night.

Agreed. At this point, Angle has nothing to prove. It's not worth him getting injured in the condition he's in now.
Aero 0 Report post Posted November 11, 2003 I'm going to Smackdown later tonight... Here's hoping I can actually see him in decent live match. When I went to the Trenton house show on 10/6 this year, I was jipped with a 3-minute triple threat between Brock, Angle, & Cena. I agree that Angle should just take an absense soon... maybe right after Survivor Series.
Guest Mulatto Heat Report post Posted November 11, 2003 Saw this one coming. Same. I saw this over an hour ago but didn't want to be the one to post it here. I think it should be re-considered if Dr. Jho's surgery is really the 'miracle cure'.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted November 11, 2003 It's not worth it anymore Kurt. Just retire. I'm sure the mega important Albert feud they have lined up for you after Survivor Series can be scrapped.

Spaceman Spiff 0 Report post Posted November 11, 2003 Saw this one coming. Same. I saw this over an hour ago but didn't want to be the one to post it here. I think it should be re-considered if Dr. Jho's surgery is really the 'miracle cure'. Scott Hall's neck turned out fine. How long after the surgery did Angle come back? It's supposedly taking Nash 6-8 weeks after his surgery, did Angle come back quicker than that? Isn't Austin considering the same surgery?
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted November 11, 2003 In all honesty, what Kurt should do first is see what they have lined up for him after Survivor Series. If it's actually a top level program with someone, he should at least go through with that, just to be fair to the company so they're not running around like chickens with their head cut off. Don't even really wrestle in it, build it all up on (good, not comedy based) skits and give the WWE time to build a plan B for the blow off. If it's a US title feud or a feud with a non-Brock member of Team Hoss, walk away now.
Guest Mulatto Heat Report post Posted November 11, 2003 Scott Hall is not an active wrestler anymore, nor was he as active as Angle when he did wrestle. The surgery has to be intended for someone who takes bumps several times a week.
tpww7 0 Report post Posted November 11, 2003 It should work perfectly for Nash then, he doesent do any of that.
the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted November 11, 2003 Looks like Edge won't get too screwed by getting the real surgery. I am going to echo AS's sentiments. If he has a big paycheck coming soon, go ahead and ride it out. But if they just have him doing nothing, retire and go home to a normal life.
OldSchoolWrestling 0 Report post Posted November 11, 2003 The big paycheck is WM20. Anyone injured is either going to try to make it until then before going out, or if they are out, will be rushing to get back.
the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted November 11, 2003 I don't know if Angle's WMXX paycheck is going to be that big, well big enough to risk this. Right now there is no idea where he is going to be on the card, plus being in MSG they aren't going to get the 65000 attendance to rack up the gate.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted November 11, 2003 Looks like Edge won't get too screwed by getting the real surgery. I am going to echo AS's sentiments. If he has a big paycheck coming soon, go ahead and ride it out. For the paycheck, of course, but for the sake of the company as well. If, for arguments sake, they have him pencilled in to start the Undertaker-esque 50 minutes a show McMahon feud, and he drops out, they have totally lost the only thing that they planned on actually building up. the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted November 11, 2003 I am not taking that leap of faith, AS. Brock looks like he is going to be busy with Cena or Benoit and fuck any angle that they plan around the McMahons. I hope the talent bails out on those angles. Eclipse 0 Report post Posted November 11, 2003 Well, here comes the pain! I had a feeling since he returned that he was going to have injuries there again....
Guest ligerbomb03 Report post Posted November 11, 2003 I also think Kurt needs to take an extended break from WWE in order to heal up his neck/body or whatever has to be done.

Brock looks like he is going to be busy with Cena or Benoit and fuck any angle that they plan around the McMahons. I hope the talent bails out on those angles. Oh, I agree. The highest level feud he can get is Big Show, and as soon as they say "US title feud" he should fall to the ground clutching his neck.

Guest Quik Report post Posted November 11, 2003 Ugh. Wouldn't it be hilarious if he's been smashing his neck just to have an excuse to retire? I don't blame him at this point. After all, McMahonamania is runnin' wild on both fucking shows.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted November 11, 2003 When did they have a cage match? Last March. HHH manhandled him, Stephie baby ran in, beat up HHH and physically dragged Kurt out of the cage.
Guest Ray Report post Posted November 11, 2003 I'll try to say this in the least offensive way... Maybe he wouldn't be injured if he wasn't such a suplex spotfest! Maybe if they'd WRESTLE instead of murdering each other with 1000 suplexes in every match, there wouldn't be so many injuries. Wonder why Bret Hart had such a long career without an injury like this...
Guest nikowwf Report post Posted November 11, 2003 Um, Bret Hart has trouble MOVING at this point. 90% of wrestlers put themselves in situations like this where they can get hurt. No Bret didn't do 97,000 suplexes, but he allowed himself to get hit in the head repeatedly when he had a concussion already. niko
