RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted November 12, 2003 Fun little match with Haas making Ultimo DRagon tap to the "Haas of PAin" SWEET! Can't wait until they make Dragon look like a bitch!
LooseCannon25 0 Report post Posted November 12, 2003 The puzzling thing is that with the booking the way they did it and with Eddie never returning on Smackdown tonight, it bsically means that Eddie is left off the PPV as well as Chavo and the Bashams. PRetty crazy to leave one of your best guys off the card completely.
Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted November 12, 2003 I thought the match was going to be held on the PPV instead unless I read the spoilers wrong...
LooseCannon25 0 Report post Posted November 12, 2003 I thought the match was going to be held on the PPV instead unless I read the spoilers wrong... No, Heyman first DID say he would postpone the match until Survivor Series......but then the Bashams walked in on it and taunted Chavo until he accepted the match tonight, which was handicap match for the Titles. The Survivor Series match went out the door when he and Heyman accepted the Bashams challenge for tonight.
Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted November 12, 2003 So RAW has more matches on the PPV then? I'm not surprised, not the first time that's happened.

Golgo 13 0 Report post Posted November 12, 2003 She was let back in. Details are in Hardcore Discussion (the former NHB). Anyway, yeah, it looks like Eddie may be out of a match. I still envision an in-ring promo for SurSer though, where Chavo turns on him.

Guest Goodear Report post Posted November 12, 2003 God some of you are such whiners. Yes, Benoit took a FU at the end of his match... why you ask? Because its an angle where OMG CAN THEY TRUST CENA? It's nice, simple, and logical booking. So Benoit took a bump... so what? And Ultimo losing to WGTT is fine since they're great wrestlers and have heat too. Them losing to Ultimo and Funaki would be total bull shit.
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted November 12, 2003 So Benoit took a bump... so what? He's a patsy. He totally got punked by Cena. Why not Kurt Angle or Bradshaw?? He still has an issue with Angle, and Bradshaw doesn't need to be protected. Cena is a guy who has lost to Lesnar, Taker, Guerrero, Angle - and he gets the best of Benoit?? Fuck that. They could have done it in other ways without hurting Benoit. Ultimo *tapped* to Haas. He was teaming with *Funaki*. This basically says "Dragon is at level or worse than Funaki". Guest Goodear Report post Posted November 12, 2003 Because Bradshaw has no heat and John would probably get a pop for attacking him and Kurt is the one that brought Cena into the fold. Holly just got back and has the same problems that Bradshaw would. Benoit as surley guy with heat was the perfect person to get over that they might not be able to trust Cena. It's not like Cena beat him or something clean in the middle ... he just suckered him in despite Benoit trying to show him some respect. Which by the characters of the two men is totally appropriate. As far as Ultimo is concerned, tapping to the Haas of Pain is not like tapping to a headlock so that's no big deal to me. The fact that he took the loss instead of Funaki is fine as well if they have him carrying most of the action in the match and WGTT just worked him over. That totally depends on the story that the match tells and neither one of us has an idea of what that is.

There are still OTHER WAYS TO ESTABLISH THAT! I don't see why someone had to lose that much for someone else to gain very little. Benoit looks like a total schmuck. They finished the show with the image of Benoit on the ground and Cena over him - that's worse than being pinned (which they've already done to Benoit with Cena during push #1). As far as Ultimo is concerned, tapping to the Haas of Pain is not like tapping to a headlock so that's no big deal to me. That totally depends on the story that the match tells and neither one of us has an idea of what that is. On paper alone, Ultimo teaming with Funaki is bad. They might as well have him wear a "Jobber" sign. Then he is seen as the weaker link by tapping - Does Dragon need to pay dues now? Is Funaki getting a big push sometime soon?? Unless the story of the match was Funaki getting injured at the beginning of the match and Ultimo having to fight Team Angle all by himself then him tapping is fucking bullshit. He's going to be jobbed out sometimes and be "punked" out and he's not going anywhere anytime soon as reported by the Torch. Talk backstage is that John Cena's first feud as a babyface will be with Brock, which some people question since it'll leave Cena with nowhere to go but down once it's over. Other people say they think Cena may start off "smaller" with Big Show, then move to Brock while Brock feuds with Benoit in the meantime. Brock/Benoit was the plan going out of Survivor Series, but the people talking about Brock/Cena say it's been changed to that.

Austin3164life 0 Report post Posted November 12, 2003 RRR is right. A nonsensical way to establish Cena as a wild-card member of the face team, while sacrificing Benoit's momentum. I knew that the WWE would screw up Cena's pseudo-face turn, but I hope they don't sacrifice Benoit's push in the process.
Guest Mulatto Heat Report post Posted November 12, 2003 I didn't think anyone could rationalize Dragon being made to look worse than f'n FUNAKI but then again I underestimate some of these forum members when it comes to that.
haVoc 0 Report post Posted November 12, 2003 Benoit has momentum? Benoit is getting a push? He seems like he been kept "steady" over the last two months. A-train being jobbed out clean to Bradshaw is more of a joke then Benoit taking an F-U from Cena.

Aero 0 Report post Posted November 12, 2003 So RAW has more matches on the PPV then? I'm not surprised, not the first time that's happened. Eddie better have a match though. Its in his home fucking state for crying out loud! Actually, the card is even at four matches each. RAW has HHH-Goldberg, Team Austin-Team Bischoff, Kane-Shane, & Molly-Lita. Smackdown has Undertaker-Vince, Team Angle-Team Lesnar, Noble-Tajiri, & Bashams-Guerreros I was also at Smackdown last night, and they made it pretty clear that the Bashams vs. Guerreros match will happen at Survivor Series. A few other notes... The jobber who Horshu fought looked a lot like Bret Hart, except for the crew cut. He had nearly the exact same tights as Bret wore. In my section, the crowd kept yelling stuff like, "Go for the Sharpshooter!" The crowd really was into Holly... but it might just be because of his return. Nevertheless, I'd say he got second biggest pop and reaction of the night when he nailed Jones & Morgan with a chair. First biggest pop was definitely Cena. The Vince-Sable promo is backstage, for anyone who cares. I was really pissed that Eddie Guerrero wasn't there, other than his backstage promo with Chavo and the officer. Almost every commercial I saw on TV advertising this event featured Eddie. I'm really hoping the Brock promo after the tag main event airs on TV, because if so, I'll be on TV. While he was talking, me and my friend were holding up our signs. Mine said, "Ankle Lock + Crossface =" and his said "Team Lesnar tapping out". We were shown on the Titantron, but I figure the show goes off the air just as Brock is getting up after Cena & Benoit leave. And I highly doubt that it got on the air, but my other sign said, "Where's Steve Blackman?"

I knew that the WWE would screw up Cena's pseudo-face turn, but I hope they don't sacrifice Benoit's push in the process. Okay how does... "Chris Benoit, who respects people once they earn it, offers a handshake to John Cena but gets hit with a surprise finisher because John has never shown respect for anyone since he's a loudmouthed punk ass." ... not make sense? That is what their characters would and should do! Cena taking that handshake and being a lovey dovey "Oh NOW I'm a good guy because I don't like the other team" is awful mid-80's horse plop. A-train being jobbed out clean to Bradshaw is more of a joke then Benoit taking an F-U from Cena. A-Train's a hoss. Who CARES about HIM? Seriously, they seem to have invested alot in the A-Train push, and finally after he begins to get over, they stall it and use him as fodder for a Bradshaw push. Bradshaw is over, but when they try to push him as a main event player (2002 anyone) he falls flat on his face.
haVoc 0 Report post Posted November 12, 2003 I agree. I'll be the first to admit I hated A-Train but the big hairy bastard has grown on me much like Big Show. He's carried himself well in the ring. He always looks like he's working hard and he isn't really that bad for a guy his size. I get they were going for the heel team losing streak going into Survivor Series and I'm not saying they need to push A-Train to the moon and put a title on him, but he shouldn't be jobbed out to Bradshaw clean.
Guest Goodear Report post Posted November 12, 2003 Seriously, they seem to have invested alot in the A-Train push. See right there is the problem... they've invested nothing into the A-Train push. He hasn't had a big win in forever and is just used as fodder for the upper-mid card. WWE doesn't expect Train to get super huge over... they expect him to make their stars look good in defeat and he does that for the most part pretty well.
