Guest drdrainoscott Posted November 23, 2003 Report Posted November 23, 2003 Since I am sitting in my room on a Saturday Night due to my excessive amount of work due for Monday, I figured I would kill time by trying to guess what will be on Mick Foley's upcoming DVD. Since it is a two disc set, I would assume that it will include around 8 matches, and most likely promos and build-ups just like the Flair DVD. So the rules are only pick 8 matches and don't include too many Attitude era matches...we know thats a no-no... Cactus Jack vs. Sting - Falls Count Anywhere from Bash at the Beach 92 Cactus Jack & Kevin Sullivan vs. The Nastys Cactus Jack vs. Van Hamer - Falls Count Anywhere from Clash Mankind vs. Undertaker - Boiler Room Brawl Mankind vs. Shawn - Mind Games Mankind vs. Rock - Mankind wins 1st title Mick Foley vs. Hunter - No Way Out 2000 What do you guys think? I would buy it, though it is not too appealing. I don't know many of Cactus' good WCW matches that's why I chose those, and I don't remember him having that many great ones before the Attitude era. I was tempted to put HIAC on there, but it's already on Undertaker's DVD, and he said that his favorite match ever was Mind Games. I added Boiler Room Brawl just for the hell of it, since it was innovative at the time.
razazteca Posted November 23, 2003 Report Posted November 23, 2003 Must have Cactus Jack vs Vader from Halloween Havoc and the match that had Vader powerbomb Cactus Jack on the floor.
The Amazing Rando Posted November 23, 2003 Report Posted November 23, 2003 I want "Lost In Cleveland" as a bonus feature... that is all.
DMann2003 Posted November 23, 2003 Report Posted November 23, 2003 Mind Games is already on 2 previous releases The Falls Count Anywhere match with Van Hammer
Fökai Posted November 23, 2003 Report Posted November 23, 2003 Cactus Jack vs. Sting - Falls Count Anywhere from Bash at the Beach 92 Cactus Jack & Kevin Sullivan vs. The Nastys Cactus Jack vs. Van Hamer - Falls Count Anywhere from Clash Mankind vs. Undertaker - Boiler Room Brawl Mankind vs. Shawn - Mind Games Mankind vs. Rock - Mankind wins 1st title Mick Foley vs. Hunter - No Way Out 2000 Those last two will be clipped, obviously. Please don't put "Mind Games" on a DVD AGAIN. The first four are great choices. Must have Cactus Jack vs Vader from Halloween Havoc and the match that had Vader powerbomb Cactus Jack on the floor. Good stuff, too. For more "chapter" ideas, let's focus on his first feud with HHH - Canadian Stampede in 1997 and the Summerslam match (ignoring that it's on the Bloodbath DVD). Include the RAW match from MSG to round out the chapter.
razazteca Posted November 23, 2003 Report Posted November 23, 2003 Maybe include some matches when Foley used the Cactus Jack Manson name. But I doubt that they have the video rights.
Guest Askewniverse Posted November 23, 2003 Report Posted November 23, 2003 How about Foley's match where he worked as a jobber against the British Bulldogs? That would be pretty cool as an extra or easter egg.
Aero Posted November 23, 2003 Report Posted November 23, 2003 Well, I haven't even seen half of his WCW or ECW stuff, so I'll just predict WWF matches... - debut after WM XII - Cactus Jack returns (Jan. 2000) - Mick Foley quits WWF (night after Survivor Series 2001) - Boiler Room Brawl: Mankind vs. Taker (Summerslam 1996) - Dude Love (debut) & Austin vs. Bulldog & Owen (RAW, July 1997) - Cactus Jack (debut) vs. HHH (RAW, Sept. 1997) - Hardcore: Mick Foley vs. Terry Funk (RAW, April 1998, I believe) - WWF Title: Dude Love vs. Austin (Over the Edge 1998) - HIAC: Mankind vs. Taker (KOTR 1998) - WWF Title: The Rock vs. Mankind (RAW, Dec. 1998) - I Quit Match: Mankind vs. Rock (Royal Rumble 1999) - HIAC: Cactus Jack vs. HHH (No Way Out 2000)
razazteca Posted November 23, 2003 Report Posted November 23, 2003 Foley vs Funk from Raw and the matches of Chainsaw Charlie days.
Nevermortal Posted November 23, 2003 Report Posted November 23, 2003 Cactus v. Vader on Saturday Night with the Killer Bomb Cactus v. Vader from Havoc Mick Foley v. Terry Funk from Raw Cactus Jack/Raven v. Tommy Dreamer/Terry Funk from November to Remember '95 Mankind v. The Rock from Raw (title win) Cactus Jack v. Sting (Falls Count Anywhere) from Beach Blast Cactus Jack v. The Sandman (Barbed Wire) Those are my wants.

razazteca Posted November 23, 2003 Report Posted November 23, 2003 Cactus Jack vs Funk in ECW when the PE ran in and the mutants threw chairs into the ring.
Guest Fook Posted November 23, 2003 Report Posted November 23, 2003 As far as segments: Vince in the hospital (Mr. Socko's debut) Rock: This is your life Some Commishiner Foley segments with Edge and Christian Foley appreciation ceremony from Raw earlier this year JR's interview with Foley from 97 where he snaps and puts the mandible claw on JR Three faces of Foley segment where he was all three personas Any of Mick's infamous ECW promos Lost in Cleveland
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted November 23, 2003 Report Posted November 23, 2003 *marks out at the mention of a Foley DVD*
Steviekick Posted November 23, 2003 Report Posted November 23, 2003 What's the release date on this bad boy?
Nevermortal Posted November 23, 2003 Report Posted November 23, 2003 *marks out at the mention of a Foley DVD* There's one already out... Mick Foley: Hard Knocks & Cheap Pops. Its pretty good: Full versions of Dude Love/Austin (Over the Edge '98), Shawn Michaels/Mankind (Mind Games '97), The Rock/Mankind (Halftime Heat), Mankind/Austin (Raw), and the Kennel From Hell with funny-ass commentary from Kevin Kelly & Foley, plus an hour and twenty minute documentary which is pretty good.
Guest Ray Posted November 23, 2003 Report Posted November 23, 2003 Ugh, the SS96 Boiler Room Brawl was awful! One of the most boring matches I've ever seen. I hope they don't waste space with that match. There are plenty of good Foley matches that could go on instead.

I hope they don't waste space with that match. There are plenty of good Foley matches that could go on instead. What? I love that match? Slow-paced yeah, but I thought it was an excellent brawl (although I do understand how you can think it is boring-especially w/ no commentary).

Yeah... pretty much.
TheFranchise Posted November 23, 2003 Report Posted November 23, 2003 Sorry to sound dumb... but why can't they?
MooreMark Posted November 23, 2003 Report Posted November 23, 2003 I think its because of the lawsuit... On these dvds do they have like some commentator doing like a piece on the wrestler and him leading up to all the matches? Or is it just like pick your match and see the buildup? I kind of want a biography piece on Mick without all his 2000/2001 non wrestling goodness.
Corey_Lazarus Posted November 23, 2003 Report Posted November 23, 2003 I'd just like to add two ECW moments, if only as extras. -Fire chair. 'Nuff said. -After Cactus' final match in ECW, he gets together with the Blue Meanie and Stevie Richards to sing "New York, New York."

Oh yeah, a must-have in my opinion. *holds up his autographed copy* The section on the Edge/Christian skits are my favorite of the non-wrestling stuff, and includes the chicken suit bit.
Downhome Posted November 23, 2003 Report Posted November 23, 2003 I think its because of the lawsuit... That doesn't help at all. Care to explain?
Elbarto997 Posted November 23, 2003 Report Posted November 23, 2003 What's the release date on this bad boy? Somewhere around late winter.
Guest Choken One Posted November 23, 2003 Report Posted November 23, 2003 I thought it was January. Likely for the X-Mas Return sales...
haVoc Posted November 23, 2003 Report Posted November 23, 2003 I think its because of the lawsuit... That doesn't help at all. Care to explain? Yeah, I didn't get that either? Is the WWF logo in the middle of the ring or something? BTW, Torch also said there is a Kurt Angle DVD coming out in March.

Is the WWF logo in the middle of the ring or something? Its most likely the lawsuit thats holding those matches behind. Or maybe those matches have been featured on like 6 DVDs.
Mole Posted November 23, 2003 Report Posted November 23, 2003 The Angle DVD better not suck like the book.
