BifEverchad 0 Report post Posted November 27, 2003 Since working in a record store, I've noticed there's an assload of DVDs that I'd like to check out, especially music DVDs. I already have a couple: Pearl Jam - Touring Band 2000 and Eagles - Hell Freezes Over, and both are amazing. I'd really like to get the Coldplay DVD, the new U2, The Rolling Stones - Forty Flicks, and an AC/DC DVD to name a few. But what musical DVDs do you guys really dig and could possibily reccommend? I'm open to just about anything as long as its good. Besides, I get a 40% DVD discount at work, and I'd really like to take advantage of it towards some of these titles. bob_barron 0 Report post Posted November 27, 2003 I have the new U2 DVD and it's quite awesome. I'd also get Elevation as a companion piece since both DVDs have different songs
Nighthawk 0 Report post Posted November 27, 2003 The music dvds I own, and as such feel confident recommending are as follows: Gwar - Ultimate Video Gwarchive, has commentary from the band on all the videos, which I haven't seen that much on music video dvds. Weird Al - I can't remember the proper name offhand, but it's all of his videos. Worth it for Fat and Amish Paradise alone, I think. Prince - The Hits Collection, some people complain about some of the omissions on this, but for what it is, it's fine, and with your discount it should only run you 7 or 8 bucks. And besides, the things left out are often available elsewhere, such as- Prince - Sign O' Times, as far as I know only available as a Brazillian import, so it's worth having as a rarity. The video and audio quality dip in couple places, but nothing too bad. Prince - Rave Un2 the Year 2000, the ppv concert from the turn of the millenium. A really really great concert, with appearances from George Clinton, Sly and the Family Stone and others. Super cool, I recommend this higher than anything else. dubq 0 Report post Posted November 27, 2003 I'd really like to get the Coldplay DVD I'm all over this. In fact, I've already dropped hints to the Mrs. about a possible X-Mas present. Otherwise, the only other music DVDs I have are the Alice in Chains video collection - which rules. And both of the Skinny Puppy DVD's [video collection and Ain't It Dead Yet, live show]... I guess you could also count the CASH dvd that came with Johnny's last album, too. I'd really like to be able to find a DVD of [old school] Misfits shows, with Danzig et al. LivingLegendGaryColeman 0 Report post Posted November 27, 2003 I haven't watched it all, but it's still pretty recent and I love it. Tenacious D - The Complete Masterworks. 2 Disc set with a concert, music videos and all their HBO sketches. Amazing. It isn't too pricey either.

Zetterberg is God 0 Report post Posted November 27, 2003 As an unabashed CKY fan, I have to recommend CKY's Infiltrate.Destroy.Rebuild: The Video Album. Some of the videos are truly amazing considering the lack of budget and label support. Also, since you are Canadian, check out Illuminations: The Tea Party Collection. Great DVD and if you have a good sound system, the DTS mix is awesome.

Slayer 0 Report post Posted November 28, 2003 How is "Rush in Rio"? I'm a bit concerned since the Different Stages CD-set from '98 showed Geddy's tour voice just ain't what it used to be

I wouldn't recommend the Skinny Puppy DVD because it omits the group's best video, "Worlock"....
