Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted December 4, 2003 Report Posted December 4, 2003 Many wrestlers are very upset that John Heidenreich was signed to a long term contract last week. Most feel that he is a nice guy but an inept clod in the ring who has yet to show any signs of getting better. Wrestlers also fear getting in the ring with him since he is already building a reputation of injuring his opponents. He has injured Steven Richards twice and has yet to master how to safely perform his own finisher. While he did fee bad about his mistake and often asks older wrestlers for tips on how to improve, most feel he is not going to ever amount to anything and that he was given a long term deal and a push due to Vince McMahon wanting another big guy. Guest Salacious Crumb Posted December 4, 2003 Report Posted December 4, 2003 I think the Torch uses more of the "a friend of a friend of a wrestler heard they feel a certain way" sources.
Highland Posted December 4, 2003 Report Posted December 4, 2003 I love how his accusers choose to stay anonymous and bitch that he will never amount to much. That may be true, but at least he is willing to try and learn and to improve. Oh, and he's nice, but so is Orton and from reading those two articles it clearly pays to NOT be respectful to anyone backstage, lest you be bitched about for some dirtsheet.
razazteca Posted December 4, 2003 Report Posted December 4, 2003 Test & Steiner worried about their spot in the company?
Guest Choken One Posted December 4, 2003 Report Posted December 4, 2003 Who you think these "workers" are most angry about being signed? -John Heidenreich -OLM -Nathan Jones. Well...John is a nice guy and has respect so I bet he gets the LEAST "hate"... Jones is just another faceless hoss... OLM likely has the most hatered as he not only is an asshole whom thinks he is bigger then life and has his mommy controling him...but got a high profile slot on WWE tv and Was promoted via National Press simply because he was circus act. Also throw in his accusactions that he will sue if they fire him.
razazteca Posted December 4, 2003 Report Posted December 4, 2003 OLM? Please explain who that is? Spell it out damn it.
AndrewTS Posted December 4, 2003 Report Posted December 4, 2003 OLM? Please explain who that is? Spell it out damn it. One Legged Man
Guest Choken One Posted December 4, 2003 Report Posted December 4, 2003 Damn...We've run that joke in for the last 7 months...haven't you figured it out yet
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted December 4, 2003 Report Posted December 4, 2003 And I haven't seen Heidenreich on television in a while... then again I don't follow Heat.
razazteca Posted December 4, 2003 Report Posted December 4, 2003 Well no since I do not follow the Smackdown threads since I do not get the show. Besides not everything has to be stated in short hand all of the time.
Lil' Bitch Posted December 4, 2003 Report Posted December 4, 2003 I like John Heidenreich, yeah another hoss, but at least he's nice. Just needs to be more careful because safety is always the issue.
SamoaRowe Posted December 4, 2003 Report Posted December 4, 2003 Damn...We've run that joke in for the last 7 months...haven't you figured it out yet Give him a break, this thread was primarily about hosses and OLM hasn't been used that much lately. It even took myself a second to remember what that was referring to.
Human Fly Posted December 4, 2003 Report Posted December 4, 2003 Was Heidenreich in OVW? I have no idea who he is or where he came from. He just shows up on TV and starts bringing the suck.
ChrisMWaters Posted December 4, 2003 Report Posted December 4, 2003 Was Heidenreich in OVW? I have no idea who he is or where he came from. He just shows up on TV and starts bringing the suck. I remember hearing he and Nathan Jones used to be tag team partners...
Guest Choken One Posted December 4, 2003 Report Posted December 4, 2003 Wow. I got to see those matches.
Kardo Posted December 4, 2003 Report Posted December 4, 2003 He was called Big Bad John in OVW in 2001 and was part of Doug Bashams stable "The Revolution". Then he left and went to Japan for a while until he got resigned by the WWE.
Guest wrestlingbs Posted December 4, 2003 Report Posted December 4, 2003 Rumor has it Zach isn't injured, they just don't want to do anything with him. And what's with all this hate against those anonymous people who hate Heidenreich? If i worked hard in wrestling and saw another 300 ib. guy with no talent and is injury prone, I wouldn't be happy.
Spaceman Spiff Posted December 4, 2003 Report Posted December 4, 2003 I love how his accusers choose to stay anonymous and bitch that he will never amount to much. That may be true, but at least he is willing to try and learn and to improve. Oh, and he's nice, but so is Orton and from reading those two articles it clearly pays to NOT be respectful to anyone backstage, lest you be bitched about for some dirtsheet. Right, the Torch is supposed to dime out their sources, creating a situation where: 1) Said sources get punished by the WWE, and 2) Torch loses them as sources, and 3) Nobody else backstage will trust the Torch, so they're SOL for sources of news
Guest Korgath Posted December 4, 2003 Report Posted December 4, 2003 I believe the situation boils down to: "What? You hired ANOTHER generic hoss when you have no idea what you're doing with the workers you currently have?" Yeah, I can see why some people would be upset.
yankovic fan Posted December 4, 2003 Report Posted December 4, 2003 I remember back in Dec. 2001 at a Smackdown taping in New Orleans, Heidenreich wrestled either a dark match or a heat match agaisnt Saturn. They billed him from New Orleans and he wore a saints jersey.
AndrewTS Posted December 4, 2003 Report Posted December 4, 2003 Okay, let me get this straight... Hossenfeffer got a long-term contract? *sigh* I do admit having a perverse desire to see those matches teamed with Nathan Jones.
tekcop Posted December 4, 2003 Report Posted December 4, 2003 I do admit having a perverse desire to see those matches teamed with Nathan Jones. Best of Nathan Jones 8. Nathan Jones + John Heidenreich vs. NWA Intercontinental Tag Team Champions Shinjiro Ohtani + Masato Tanaka (10/20/02) 9. Shinya Hashimoto + Naoya Ogawa vs. NWA Intercontinental Tag Team Champions Nathan Jones + John Heidenreich (10/26/02) You know you want it.
deancoles Posted December 4, 2003 Report Posted December 4, 2003 I can't believe Ohtani and Tanaka actually jobbed to those 2.
evilhomer Posted December 4, 2003 Report Posted December 4, 2003 How long was the contract for anyways? You'd think Vince would learn after Mark Henry and TBS to stay out of long term contracts. It's not like he has to worry about his talent walking over to the competition anymore.
1234-5678 Posted December 4, 2003 Report Posted December 4, 2003 I'd be pissed if I was in the WWE too. Picture this.........you're a firefighter, who gets passed over for Chief by a guy who can't even attach the hose to the fire hydrant. Would that piss you off? Same situation, different occupation.
Highland Posted December 4, 2003 Report Posted December 4, 2003 No it's not, he's been offered a contract, not a main event spot.
1234-5678 Posted December 4, 2003 Report Posted December 4, 2003 So let's say he has a match on Raw instead of Hurricane, Lance Storm, Tommy Dreamer, etc. You wouldn't be pissed if you were those guys, who have paid their dues already? Jesus Christ, in this folder, some people will defend ANYONE just to argue.
Guest Goodear Posted December 4, 2003 Report Posted December 4, 2003 They can be as pissed as they want, but to go to a news source and bury the guy for simply getting a job seems to be rather stupid in my opinion. Especially considering the guys you've mentioned have been under contract for a year or two despite being total nonfactors.
