DerangedHermit 0 Report post Posted December 11, 2003 The WWE and Vince McMahon have planned a brand new marketing campaign to get back the fans that left and to bring the new ones in. It's called "Escape The Rules." It will run over the next four months and its costing the WWE about $2 million dollars. What it's going to do is take those widely accepted ideas such as, not taking candy from strangers, or looking before you jump, and RAW will turn those ideas all around. The point is of escaping the rules. It is hard to explain, put it that way. [Credit: Slam]
SamoaRowe 0 Report post Posted December 11, 2003 I guess it's too early to tell if this is going to suck or not, but knowing the current trend with all things WWE, it's going to rot.
edotherocket 0 Report post Posted December 11, 2003 Wow, that's pretty vague and hard to understand. What the hell does taking candy from strangers have to do with wrestling? I suppose the look before you jump thing could be a recreation of the Suicidal Hawk angle.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted December 11, 2003 Did'nt they try that gimmick with Sean O'Haire?
PsychoDriver 0 Report post Posted December 11, 2003 Ugh, boy does that sound destined for a quick painful death. Did they actually pay someone to come up with that?
Crippler Crossface 0 Report post Posted December 11, 2003 Seah O'Haire must be crying right now becuase Raw just took the best part of his gimmick.
Grenouille 0 Report post Posted December 11, 2003 Ugh, boy does that sound destined for a quick painful death. Did they actually pay someone to come up with that? Yeah probably more money than it'd take to patch things up with the pandas and get their name back. Sounds terrible.
Cuban Linx 0 Report post Posted December 11, 2003 Sounds like it'll be stupid, so i guess it fits with the WWE's current product then.

HarleyQuinn 0 Report post Posted December 11, 2003 Why the heck is Vince bothering to spend $2 Mill that could go elsewhere(house show production, wrestler salaries, etc.) on yet another campaign ad that will in all likelihood, suck?

Highland 0 Report post Posted December 11, 2003 They're doing it to promote a rebel image that's against the establisment. Hey if it works for Dean then maybe Vince figures it'll work for him to?
OldSchoolWrestling 0 Report post Posted December 11, 2003 It could work if they use guys that fit the image like Cena or Guerrero. I just don't want it handled like that "Ruthless Agression" bullshit.
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted December 11, 2003 So Smackdown has "Smack your TV" and Raw has "Escape the Rules" - sounds kinda like those "Unbelievable" commercials, with the old lady, and the baby with the blocks... God, this means months and months of these tag lines getting shoved down our throats. Maybe they should be more worried about delivering a quality product and pleasing the fans they have and prevent them from leaving rather than appealing to "new fans" and have them watch - and then immediately turn off - your bad show....
