It's a cool looking move, but he doesn't protect the wrestlers, he's too small to safely do this to bigger guys, and uh...if the company that GIVES HIM A PAYCHECK tells him not to, then he SHOULDN'T. Hurricane's chokeslam was never a serious finisher. It only shoulda been used to illustrate his ORIGINAL gimmick, a comic-book "superhero" heel that tried to act super, like trying to chokeslam Big Show, but got his ass kicked. The chokeslam, if they decide it to be Kane/Show's finisher, should be their finisher. They've been using it way longer. I'm SO sick of people defending Shane Helms. There's a REASON he isn't on PPVs, not his "being used incorrectly". He fucking SUCKS. He's only on TV because he sells some merchandise to children. Let Hurri-Spot Blower and his fat untalented sidekick use their "stacked top rope splash" against La Resistance each week.

I like the Hurricane. He was in some great skits with Rocky at the start of the year, and even had a good match with Cheif Morley of all people. As tpww said, he's a fucking superhero with superhuman strength, its not that hard to understand. Fuck.

If little ,skinny Hurricane is putting people away with chokeslams ,it kinda takes away from the monster factor of the big guys that use it. And if they were really gonna use the "super powers" thing,then they'd have to push him to the top of the card because who's gonna beat a man with super powers? And they've shown no inclination to push him to the top of the card.

Sure he makes more money than Daniels in the indies because he's a bigger name, but if anyone's seen the treatment of Spanky and Paul London lately in WWE by jobbing to the FBI, most would say that they were better off in ROH. Besides, it's not like Daniels would get paid as much as say, The Rock or Stone Cold because WWE would keep him somewhere in the low mid-card and would refuse to release good merchandise related to him, so would there really be a difference between making an average amount of money in the indies and making an average amount in WWE, where he would actually be misused and limited?

I hope he's released and can wrestle in a cruiserweight environment and develop his entertainment value back elsewhere. Or, let him turn heel, using the Sugar Shane gimmick, possibly w/ a move back to SD. Of course, that won't happen because of the Gewirtz and merchandise factors, but that would be a better plan than releasing him.

Oh my God, he's choking him... and now he's slamming him on his back! THE HORROR! Fucking hell. It's no worse than a body slam when you think about it. It's existence simply provides big, bland, generic wrestlers with a shitty finisher. Kinda like the powerbomb. The only difference is that maybe you can spice that move up, maybe do it with certain variations (gut-wrench powerbomb, top-rope powerbomb, WILDBOMB~!), and it actually looks like it does some damage. None of that stupid sit-out bullshit **cough**Batista**cough**. God I hate most of the finishers in the WWE. Especially Big Show's spinning big-fat legdrop from hell.

That's why it was funny when he tried to chokeslam people like the Big Show. He thought he had super-strength. He doesn't. So Big Show clocked him. But I mean, isn't Test like, 6'6"? And isn't Helms like, a cruiserweight? It's just silly to have him hit a move like that on people so much bigger then him. The chokeslam has pretty much ALWAYS been a "big-man" move. So why should he just suddenly start using it as a legit move? I mean, if he goes for it and gets stomped, fine. But when he HITS it...whoo boy...

Tease the chokeslam, but finish with the Overcast. It's the only credible finisher he has left. And if he's only gonna be tagging with Rosey, then the double stack splash and samoan drop/neckbreaker combo are fine finishers.

Masked Man of Mystery Posted December 16, 2003 Report Posted December 16, 2003 I'm persoanlly a huge mark for Hurricane, mostly because I'm a superhero mark as is, but anyways, let him use the God forsaken choke slam, it fits his gimmick. It can still be credible, because you can have people get out of it more often with him because he's smaller and it doesn't have the impact Show's or Taker's does. So if he's fighting a jobber he might be able to put them away with it, but against a good opponent, he can get a kick out, then have to use the Shining Wizard(or Enziguri, we're picking nits here with an American crowd), or the Overcast or the Eye Of the Hurricane
