Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted December 16, 2003 It's coming up on Christmas Eve Night. Figured for the hell of it we could take a guess in what game they'll have on the list. Usually a game from each of the major North American sports is included. Baseball-Boston vs New York-Game 7 College Football-Miami vs Ohio St.-Fiesta Bowl
Guest Redhawk Report post Posted December 16, 2003 College football: One of those games that went 5 or 6 overtimes. I can't remember which ones, but there's always a few every year. College basketball: Arizona vs. Gonzaga, NCAA Tournament; or Syracuse vs. Kansas, NCAA title game. Little League World Series: That one game where one kid struck out 17 guys and they other struck out 15 or something like that. I think it was Texas vs. Kentucky. Pro basketball: The All-Star Game. Pro football: Bucs vs. Colts, Monday Night Football. MLB: Yankees vs. Red Sox, Game 7. Boxing: Arturo Gatti vs. Micky Ward (they fought this year, right? I just know they always make the Top 10); James Toney vs....oh fuck, the Russian cruiserweight....I cannot remember his name for shit right now.
treble 0 Report post Posted December 16, 2003 The 5 OT game between Dallas and Anaheim will probably be the NHL game, unless they choose the All Star game or the Heritage Classic.
Guest Bottled Black Report post Posted December 16, 2003 My guesses NHL - Heritage Classic. NCAA Football - Miami - Ohio State NCAA Basketball - Title game, Boeheim finally wins the title MLB - Yanks/Sox game 7 NBA - Probably something Jordan was involved in so I'd say All-Star game NFL - I agree with Colts/Bucs

Damaramu 0 Report post Posted December 16, 2003 Hockey: None... Its ESPN, like they give a fuck about hockey I know. I'm just getting into Hockey and I want to see some good games. But they don't have any on. The most I can get is........Blackhawks vs. Stars(pukes).

Guest AllCanadian Report post Posted December 16, 2003 ESPN will never give the nod to the heritage classic. It'll be a game involving 2 american teams.
Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2003 I could see the entire MLB postseason making the list along with the Yankees/Red Sox game. Huge comeback wins do nothing for me. Sure they have exciting finishes. But, comebacks mean the game was basically one sided the entire game. A good back and fourth game is much better.

UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted December 19, 2003 I would think that the NFC Playoff game from this year (I think, January) between the Giants and 49ers, featuring that awesome 49ers comeback, would be included. Or was that late December '02?

Or was that late December '02? I'm pretty sure it was January 5th.
Guest Just J Report post Posted December 19, 2003 Alabama/Tennesee should be on it.
Slingshot Suplex 0 Report post Posted December 19, 2003 The hockey game will involve Mario Lemieux or Mark Messier so ESPN can cater to the eastern market. Probably Messier.
The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted December 20, 2003 The Heritage Classic was already on a few weekends ago. I nominate Senators-Devils, Game 6, that was a good game that would've been better had they won game 7. (sigh)
the max 0 Report post Posted December 20, 2003 The hockey game will be SCF game 7, just to cop out of the whole thing.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted December 20, 2003 The hockey game will be SCF game 7, just to cop out of the whole thing. But that game SUCKED. I'd say Game 7 of the East final, but ESPN seems to be doing its best to avoid acknowledging the existence of the Ottawa Senators.

The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted December 20, 2003 "Congratulations to the New jersey Devils for finishing in second place in the race for the President's Trophy" "In the first round over in the East we'll see the Bruins against the Devils, the Lightning against the Capitals, and the New York Islanders will also be in action"
Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted December 20, 2003 What about Game 1 between Anaheim/Detroit. Didn't it go like 3 OT's, and Guiguire made like 60 saves.
Guest Redhawk Report post Posted December 21, 2003 Is it too late to add the NC-Wake Forest basketball game from today? Battle of undefeateds, 3 overtimes, 119-114 Wake. What about the Titans-Steelers playoff game from last year? I remember it came down to a last-second FG. And the Miami-West Virginia football game was pretty good too. ANKLELOCK 0 Report post Posted December 22, 2003 UNC vs Wake was an AWESOME game.
Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted December 26, 2003 *bump* It was on Christmas Eve night. I only saw the Top 3, and Little League game being that high was b.s. It may of been a great game for Little League, but they honestly think it's the 3rd best game of 2003?
the pinjockey 0 Report post Posted December 26, 2003 I was flipping through and saw that Tennessee vs. UCONN womens basketball was the no.9 game. It wasn't a tourney game, it was regular season. But then I flipped away and forgot to go back to it.

Just John 0 Report post Posted December 27, 2003 10. Titans vs. Steelers (NFL Divisional playoffs) 9. Some women's basketball game (UConn vs. Tennessee?) 4. Giants vs. 49ers (NFL wildcard) 1. The entire MLB post season (what a copout) Others that I'm not sure of their placement: Stars vs. Mighty Ducks (5 OT) Andy Roddick vs. another tennis guy (Australian Open, 5th set alone went about 2½ hours) Arizona vs. Gonzaga (NCAA tourney)
Gert T 0 Report post Posted December 27, 2003 I'll give this a shot, but I may get the order wrong. 10. Steelers v. Titans (AFC Divisional Playoff) 9. Tennessee v. UConn (Reg. Season w/Turasi HT buzzer beater, I really do not care for women's sports, but from the video package the game looked great) 8. Colts v. Buccaneers (MNF comeback) 7. Arizona v. Gonzaga (2nd Round NCAA Tourney 2OT) 6. Andy Roddick v. Younes El Anouyi (This was a great match, but I am a tennis nut) 5. Anaheim v. Dallas (Game 1, 5OT) 4. Giants v. 49ers (NFC Wild Card) 3. LLWS game Texas v. Massachusetts 2. Miami (FL) v. Ohio State (Nat'l Title Game) 1. MLB Playoff package Overall good picks, the number one choice was a cop out, but there were tons of great games. And now my main gripe, as a huge Ohio State fan, I understand the controversial call, but they didn't even mention in the Giants-49ers game how the refs blew the call at the end of that game. Quit hating on the Buckeyes damnit!
