Guest rawmvp Report post Posted December 17, 2003 From The Law: Because Triple H and Randy Orton are scheduled to have a World Title match at Wrestlemania, Orton is favored to win the Royal Rumble. There's also an outside chance that either Chris Benoit or John Cena will win it; however, both are unlikely at this point. Chris Benoit was originally scheduled to win the WWE Title at No Way Out since it was originally supposed to emanate from Edmonton, Alberta -- Benoit's hometown. Vince McMahon was quite upset upon discovering that he couldn't book NWO at the Edmonton Center due to scheduling conflicts. Benoit's WWE Title win, however, won't be canceled; it will be postponed until SummerSlam 2004 at the Toronto Skydome where he's expected to wrestle either Brock or Angle for the belt. Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2003 Holy shit...that's enough to have me skip Wrestlemania all together. The whole split thing doesn't work for me with the Rumble. Cause Smackdown has the good belt anyway. And someone else is going to get the other title shot, to it takes away from the Rumble.
Guest wildpegasus Report post Posted December 17, 2003 I hate scheduling conflicts. I hate, hate, hate, hate them.

Guest hhheld_down Report post Posted December 17, 2003 bob holly goin for the wwe title... randy orton possibly winning the rumble.... beniot/cena/guerraro still being mistreated in the worst way.... Once again I will save 35 dollars next month! Thanks Vince!
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2003 Great, they're going to bury Benoit from now until about 1 week before Summerslam throwing him from feud to feud... maybe a tag match.... jesus fucking fuck.
JasonX 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2003 So, who is gonna be in the WWF Title match at Wrestlemania? HHH will retain at WM in the main event match as he slits Randy Orton's throat and fucks his dying body while screaming "NO ONE GETS A GOD PUSH BUT ME!!!!" As for SD, Brock retains against whoever they put him again, most likely John Cena in an undercard match that has zero heat and serves mainly as the WWE's attempt to kill Cena's heat by having Brock make Cena look like a total bitch in the name of "getting over by losing".... ANKLELOCK 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2003 WILL SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHY THEY CAN'T HAVE BENOIT HAVE A GREAT FEUD AGAINST BROCK AND WIN THE TITLE AT WRESTLEMANIA XX?????!!!!!!! SUMMERSLAM?? ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? WHO COULD POSSIBLY TAKE PRECEDENT OVER BENOIT???? I HAVE NEVER ANTICIPATED A FEUD MORE THAN BENOIT/BROCK AND YOU SCREW IT UP!!!! Congrats WWE. Downhome 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2003 I'd rather Benoit win the strap in Canada than at WrestleMania. SummerSlam is their second biggest show of the year, and it'll a much greater scene for him to win it up there. I'm all for it, and I can't wait.
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2003 And you just KNOW plans will change and they will give Edge the title at Summerslam over Benoit... or they will trade Benoit to Raw and we'll see the epic Benoit/Batista match. FUCK EM ALL!
ANKLELOCK 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2003 I know. Itll be great whenever it is, especially if it is in Canada. But, I just can't wait any longer!

Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2003 Wait... Now NWO is not going to be held in MY HOMETOWN? I won't get to see Chris Benoit win the title in MY HOMETOWN? GODFUCKING DAMMIT! And 2004 SummerSlam is how long I'd have to wait so I could at least see it? FUCK YOU WWE!
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2003 Yeah, sigh, what was I thinking? GOSH, it's only 8 more months, even after they already set the program in motion and gotten heat on it. Yeah sure, that's just neato. They'll handle Benoit just fine until then. I'm sure they have that spot set in stone just made for him. Yeah, that's it. That's IT! Nothing will change that, oh no sir. They want the best for Benoit cause they're a pro-Benoit company. Handled with Care, I'm sure of it. I bet on this weeks Smackdown they will pair him up with someone real good and he'll go on to a big time feud that everyone will care about...
Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Report post Posted December 17, 2003 Randy Orton is fueding with Mick Foley. He'll either face him at the Rumble or Wrestlemania which definately leaves this open as a rumor at best.
JHawk 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2003 I'll believe all of this when it actually happens. Isn't the general rule of thumb that you have to have people give a shit about you to main event at WrestleMania? I know there have been exceptions (Big Show, I'm looking in your direction), but that should disqualify Orton right there.
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2003 After Armageddon I was thinking about who'd face HHH and who'd win the rumble. One of the possibilities was Randy Orton. Right now Evolution has all the gold - they could do a whole thing where HBK gets together his "gang" (RVD, Dudleys) and tries to beat the stable. They fail. This establishes that no one can beat Evolution. Thus, the only way Evolution can be defeated is from within. With Orton winning the rumble, that sets up perfect internal conflict. HHH tells him to take a dive and fall in-line, Orton refuses. This also merges in with the Foley Storyline as mentioned in Dames' Raw review.
Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2003 Because Triple H and Randy Orton are scheduled to have a World Title match at Wrestlemania, Orton is favored to win the Royal Rumble. I'd rather watch the suck ass version of Foley / HHH There's also an outside chance that either Chris Benoit or John Cena will win it; however, both are unlikely at this point. No Way Out will now take place from San Francisco.
NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2003 So Randy Whoreton, not only gets the I-C title belt, but he gets to basically skip past that current status as soon as he gets there, so he can go on to be the winner of the Royal Rumble? Wow, way to earn your spot.

If that was directed at me, I'm more bitching that I had planned to watch NWO and now I can't... And now I'd have to save up a shitload more money to fly to 2004 SummerSlam to watch him win it. That's my bitch. If the above isn't directed at me, just letting you know still. ...like anyone would really CARE, but I thought I should say still.

Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2003 Funny how Orton's getting the push even though the fans aren't responding to him. He's not even fun to hate, he just gets X-Pac heat.
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2003 Didn't someone come on this board about a week or so ago and post the exact same information? Dear god, someone on an internet message board scooped Meltz! And honestly, considering how hard they have been pushing Randy, would anyone really be shocked to see him not only go after Triple H at the Rumble but also win the title? I mean, would it really surprise any of us? And even better, could any of us justify it?
jester 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2003 May I be even more cynical than everyone else? I predict that if somehow Benoit DOES get the belt at either event, he will have exactly 30 seconds to bring the ratings up to 9.8 and generate five times more money than Hogan and Austin in their prime combined, otherwise his reign will be deemed a failure and the belt whisked away to be put on Big Show. Or Randy "Greg Gagne Lives" Orton.

Guest Deebo Report post Posted December 17, 2003 Since Brock won the RR last year and was in the Main Event with Angle, does that mean.. WM XX MAIN EVENT: HHH VS. RANDY ORTON? That would be absolutely TERRIBLE.
Guest hunger4unger Report post Posted December 17, 2003 I don't think Benoit not winning the title has anything to do with whether they were in his home town or not.
Silence 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2003 How were some of you so easily fooled into thinking that WWE was going to let Benoit get a good title reign at Wrestlemania? If WWE didn't give Benoit a title reign in 2000, they sure as hell won't now because they obviously hate wrestlers under 6'0 who can wrestle, otherwise, Jericho would have gotten a better Undisputed title reign. Sure, they were pushing Benoit heavily not too long ago, but this is WWE we're talking about, aka "The bait-and-switchers" (referring to Benoit getting a good title reign at Wrestlemania and Mick Foley being booked into a match with Randy Orton only to leave the arena at the end of the night).
