'N Sync's former tour manager is suing pop heartthrob Justin Timberlake for racial abuse. Ibrahim Duarte claims that Justin and other members of the band used racial slurs toward black employees of the group and belittled him by insisting that he travel in a separate tour bus. Duarte claims he was fired in 2000 because they were ashamed of having a black "front man" and replaced him with a white guy.

I still can't believe I'm defending Justin Timberlake.

 

Ibrahim Duarte, a former tour manager for N-Sync, says that the group is nothing but a bunch of racists, and is suing them for $10 million. Duarte claims that Justin Timberlake once said, “You niggers ain’t shit,” and Lance Bass asked for him to travel in different tour bus because he didn’t want his friends to see that they had a black tour manager. The group’s current manager, Johnny Wright, who also happens to be black, said in response, “I'm saddened to hear that Ibrahim has chosen to take this path. It's outrageous that race is being used. I am the manager of 'NSYNC and I am African-American. N-Sync's director of worldwide security is African-American, the musical director of N-Sync is African-American, in fact our entire security team is African-American. N-Sync's assistant production manager is Asian-American, and it goes on and on. Never in my 10 years of being with the group have I ever heard or received a complaint from anyone, including Ibrahim, associated with the group about racial or demeaning speech.” Duarte’s suit happens to come a year and a half after another lawsuit against the group, which alleged that they owed him $155,000 in back pay. That lawsuit mentioned no reports of racism whatsoever.

Damn...$10 million for some racial slurs? I figured I'm owed about 200 times that for my stint in Washington Junior High School in Pontiac, MI. (which was roughly a 80 black/20 white mix)
