EdwardKnoxII 0 Report post Posted December 30, 2003 Triple H, Foley, Kane, and now Austin all in line for movie/TV deals... WWE seems to be going all out with their new WWE Films division. WWE Films is now working on a horror film starring Triple H, a cop TV series starring Mick Foley, a horror film starring Glen Jacobs as Kane, and now another movie that will star Steve Austin. No details are available on the Austin movie. If the WBF, XFL, Smackdown Records, and The World are any indication, taking such big risks on a WWE Film division may prove to be a mistake. justcoz 0 Report post Posted December 30, 2003 Has anybody actually seen any of Rob Van Dam's pre WWE movies? Are they horrible? If WWE Films is looking at straight to video releases, why not do an action flick with him? WWE Films could actually work if they keep themselves in check and realize that they aren't competing against the big movie companies but are attempting to carve their own niche in straight to DVD, VHS and PPV movies. Just like I think the XFL would have worked if they didn't act as if it was going to be better than the NFL but instead said it was a stepping stone for players to get noticed by the NFL and was the only sports vehicle where there weren't big money contracts and players were paid to win. The HHH movie isn't going to open up at number one like The Scorpion King and The Rock. The movies need to be looked at more or less as a way to get WWE talent looked at more by big Hollywood names. Just like Hollywood embraces hip hop stars after they they act in a lower budget urban produced movie. Here's hoping for a Booker T/Tajiri buddy action comedy... LivingLegendGaryColeman 0 Report post Posted December 31, 2003 I can only hope it is a remake of "Stop or My Mom Will Shoot!". To fill in the shoes of Estelle Getty, it could only be Mae Young. And knowing WWE, she will now have a topless scene.

RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted December 31, 2003 Austin needs a buddy. This needs to be a buddy film. Something like Tango and Cash meets 48 Hours, ya know? Kinda like a Heat meets Judge Dredd meets 48 Hours. How about a Dirty Harry meets The Big Hit meets Die Hard meets Die Hard 3 meets Lethal Weapon 4 meets 48 Hours. Ya Know? I'm thinkin a real bash'em up, I'm thinkin Robocop meets Rambo meets Commando meets Running Man meets Broken Arrow meets Kill Bill meets The Phantom meets Phantoms meets 48 hours. Anya 0 Report post Posted December 31, 2003 They're not going to keep themselves in check. It's crazy old man Vince, I'm sure he thinks his WWE movies thing is going to be huge and that everyone in the media will finally take him seriously. I don't understand how a businessman could be so incompetent. Like every one of his "integrated multimedia productions"(or whatever buzzword it is Linda loves to use) projects fail yet he just keeps on trying.
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted December 31, 2003 Ok, what I'm thinking is that Steve Austin is a trucker. And he comes home after a cross-country trip and something happened, something bad, and everyone is different. It's not the same place he left. And there's this guy, Jacob, and he's new. And Austin - let's call him Treat, so that he can say "You're in for a Treat" or something - so Treat hunts him down and finds out that Jacob is a robot. Infact, the whole town is full of robots except for this one kid -really, around 20ish- who is left to his own devices. This kid, we learn, is Treats estranged son. They don't get along, right? But they have to, cause they're fighting against a common enemy. So they, like, get together and fight the robots and there's like mutants and stuff and the robots and the mutants all work for this corporation that Treat has been hauling material for for months. So Treat and his son - let's call him Trick, so they can be Trick and Treat - try to take down this corporation but it's too big. So they settle on trying to rescue Treats ex-wife, Tricks mother, from the evil robots and mutants... and she's held in a really big building... in an airport... Jobber of the Week 0 Report post Posted December 31, 2003 How about a romance movie that goes horribly wrong as Austin beats on his lover as the credits roll? Why in the hell won't WWE Films take full advantage of some of their lesser stars? Big Show's best trait is his talking and mind for improvisational jokes, and a really, REALLY big guy with a trait for humor could work gold in comedy films. Big Show's best trait is his talking and mind for improvisational jokes, and a really, REALLY big guy with a trait for humor could work gold in comedy films. Exactly who they should be going for. Seeing as they're paying him shedloads of money, they might as well make the most of him. A Foley film might do well. An Angle film would do better, because he's already known for being an Olympic gold medalist. But that Austin film script RRR came up with...gold!

If Vince really wanted to see this work, he needs to step away from it and let other people who know what they're doing handle it. It could make him good money if he kept his name in the small print. Masked Man of Mystery 0 Report post Posted January 1, 2004 HHH's movie is gonna be a horror, right? What if he attacked Hurricane in his dreams, and so he goes from wrestling one of the top guys in his organization to being forced to tag with a guy who's little more but refuse from a stupid old gimmick that no one remembers. It could be called Nightmare On Helms Street: The Pushmaster(I'm well aware that the first part is the old name for the Eye Of the Hurricane)
Dangerous A 0 Report post Posted January 1, 2004 This is all just absolutely horrible. WWE Films won't get a dime out of me. If Scorpion King is an indication of what WWE Films are gonna look like, I'll go ahead and keep my money for better things like unecessary gall bladder surgery or something. Rock's movies are terribly overrated and the other guys mentioned here (Austin, HHH, Kane) aren't near Rock's acting ability and Foley can't carry a movie by himself. Sure net freaks will go see Foley, Rock, and Austin because they're all just a bunch of fanboys and they'd pay to watch those men take a shit, but in no way are any of these guys movies gonna be worth a damn. Trust me on this one folks. Anytime Vince does ANYTHING non wrestling related, it tanks. WWE Films will tank. I predict if they go full throttle with WWE Films, it'll be the real beginning of the end for the company. They will lose so much money making films that suck that their surplus of money that keeps them alive today will be gone. You heard it here first.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted January 1, 2004 Rock's movies are terribly overrated and the other guys mentioned here (Austin, HHH, Kane) aren't near Rock's acting ability I disagree. I think Austin can play a pretty good "every day guy," like a cop. He'd need hair, though.

RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted January 1, 2004 ...and it turns out the Mutants are the former townspeople and Austin has discovered a conspiracy where this corporation is creating a giant army of mutants - but must do so without anyone finding out - hence the robots.
