Guest hhheld_down Posted January 13, 2004 Report Posted January 13, 2004 I am thinking about getting it after I get off work, as I loved the movie when I saw it. The dvd sounds like it will kick ass too.
Mole Posted January 13, 2004 Report Posted January 13, 2004 Damn, I just woke up! I am still thinking about smoking my cig before or during my coffee.
Youth N Asia Posted January 13, 2004 Report Posted January 13, 2004 Bah...no money till Friday. Gotta wait. And it sucked cause I had to be the one to stock them at Target this morning...so they were there mocking me.
2GOLD Posted January 13, 2004 Report Posted January 13, 2004 Bought this sucker in December for Christmas when I had the cash. Now I just sit back and wait till it shows up on my front step.
fazzle Posted January 13, 2004 Report Posted January 13, 2004 (edited) Well, I just rented it. Does that count as picking it up? And I also just found the first easter egg on the DVD. Disc 2, deleted scenes. Go to the arrow where it says you can select from a list of scenes, and then hit up. A blotch will appear to the right of the select all option, and covering the Elm Street sign. The egg is the film makers talking about an alternate ending that never happened. Edit: Egg #2: Disc 2 again, Production, move right on the first option. Lights up little slash marks. Spoiler (Highlight to Read): You get an on location filming of the cabin scene at the end of the movie. Mainly teaching the kids how to fight Jason. Egg #3: Disc 2, Production, Visual Effects featurettes. Hit right on the arrow, and more slash marks will light up. Spoiler (Highlight to Read): You then get basic CGI storyboards of both of the first and last Freddy vs. Jason fight scenes, nothing for the cabin figh scene though. This one is hilarious. Must-see Edited January 13, 2004 by fazzle
NoCalMike Posted January 13, 2004 Report Posted January 13, 2004 I think my gf is buying this, which saves me some cash.
Ravenbomb Posted January 13, 2004 Report Posted January 13, 2004 I'll rent it and copy it. Go stealing!
Corey_Lazarus Posted January 13, 2004 Report Posted January 13, 2004 I hope to convince my mother to drive me to Newbury Comics tonight right after work to buy it. I have nearly $100 in gift certificates for Newbury Comics, so why not spend in on something I'll love (like so-bad-it's-great movies)?
Guest Askewniverse Posted January 13, 2004 Report Posted January 13, 2004 I bought it earlier today for $15.99. I haven't watched it yet, though. I'll watch it later this week, along with the other DVDs that I picked up.
eiker_ir Posted January 14, 2004 Report Posted January 14, 2004 i'll get my by the end of the week, weeeeeeeeeeee
HollywoodSpikeJenkins Posted January 14, 2004 Report Posted January 14, 2004 Bought it 3 weeks ago. Extra's suck, and so does the alternate ending.
Blue Bacchus Posted January 14, 2004 Report Posted January 14, 2004 Picked it up at Target today for 15.99. If you buy it there you can also get Nightmare or New Nightmare for 5 bucks. Not a bad deal.
Damaramu Posted January 14, 2004 Report Posted January 14, 2004 Hmm....the movie still rocks.....but the alternate ending......just not as cool. Plus I thought I was going to get to see some titties! Damn that chicks hot.
tpww7 Posted January 14, 2004 Report Posted January 14, 2004 Picked it up for like $14....love it just as much as I did in August.
fazzle Posted January 14, 2004 Report Posted January 14, 2004 (edited) My biggest problem with the movie: Spoiler (Highlight to Read): The whole "Jason fears water" thing makes NO FUCKING SENSE! He friggin swam to Manhattan! Well, that and the shower scene. Got me thinking there might be some Katharine Isabelle nudity...and then they present a body double that wasn't even CLOSE. Edited January 14, 2004 by fazzle
Lil' Bitch Posted January 14, 2004 Report Posted January 14, 2004 Nope, but I'm picking it up Thursday. Haven't seen the flick since opening night last year (August 15th, 2003). The DVD extras are just awesome from what I saw advertised.

Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted January 14, 2004 Report Posted January 14, 2004 JASON FEARS WATER BWAHAAAA!! Thanks for giving it away.....a few minutes late. I'm glad I avoided every thread, discussion etc. since the movie came out this summer because I really wanted to see it, but no way in hell I was doing an hour trip both ways to see a 90 minute movie. ::Marks out for fight scene....except for dumb finish::
Lil' Bitch Posted January 14, 2004 Report Posted January 14, 2004 The extra's suck. Its better than none.
Youth N Asia Posted January 14, 2004 Report Posted January 14, 2004 My biggest problem with the movie: Spoiler (Highlight to Read): The whole "Jason fears water" thing makes NO FUCKING SENSE! He friggin swam to Manhattan! That was only in his dream though...so in his subconcious mind that would make sense...but he showed no fear towards it otherwise.
Guest Dynamite Kido Posted January 14, 2004 Report Posted January 14, 2004 I picked this one up last night. I think the extra's are cool. I expecially like the feature to jump to a death, that rawks.
The Dames Posted January 14, 2004 Report Posted January 14, 2004 I agree with YNA. Jason's fear of water is on a subconscious level, which is why it only appeared in his dream, which is basically your subconscious speaking to you. Freddy noticed this and took advantage. In reality, Jason is able to push those fears aside to accomplish what he needs to: avenge his mothers death. It works. Dames
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted January 14, 2004 Report Posted January 14, 2004 I all of a sudden have a love for Jasons confused stare looking at his hand after Freddy slices his fingers off. (The Audo Commentary brought out the comedy in it, which is basically Robert Englund being funny and the other two just rambling)
Youth N Asia Posted January 14, 2004 Report Posted January 14, 2004 When I saw it in the theatre I was suprised at the babyface pop Jason got compaired to Freddy
Guest Dynamite Kido Posted January 14, 2004 Report Posted January 14, 2004 When I saw it in the theatre I was suprised at the babyface pop Jason got compaired to Freddy I agree, I really got the babyface vibe from Jason several times. But Freddy is the classic heel though.
Damaramu Posted January 14, 2004 Report Posted January 14, 2004 Well Jason's just a silent badass. He can't talk and get on anyone's nerves with his trash talk. Freddy's that loud mouthed guy that always wins that everyone wants to see get what's coming to him.
dubq Posted January 14, 2004 Report Posted January 14, 2004 This movie was pretty good, but... Spoiler (Highlight to Read): I still can't believe they went with the whole "Jason is affraid of water" bullshit. I mean, fucking come on, had they even seen any of the previous films?!
