Guest rawmvp Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 (edited) Sorry...I don't think the following are spoilers, but if you are easily disturbed by anything SPOILER-LIKE then please DON'T scroll down.... Rey Mysterio vs. Jamie Noble - Cruiserweight Title Chavo Guerrero vs. Eddie Guerrero Source: Wrestling Observer Edited January 15, 2004 by rawmvp
USC Wuz Robbed! Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 well at least we won't need to worry about Eddie vs Chavo at Mania like originally thought.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 (edited) I pm'ed RAWMVP about the above matches being smackdown spoilers and how he should put them in the spoiler tags, we'll see.. Edited January 15, 2004 by MarvinisaLunatic
HollywoodSpikeJenkins Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 How are those spoilers? We knew they were going to happen.
Cuban Linx Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 Well the WWE only seems to put the cruiserweight title on PPV like twice a year, i guess they want to get the nuisance of using the cruiser division out of the way early in the year.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 How are those spoilers? We knew they were going to happen. well Spoiler (Highlight to Read): Theres a Jamie Noble vs Tajiri match on Smackdown for the right to face Mysterio at RR. As far as Eddy vs Chavo...you've got somewhat of a point.
Guest Coffey Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 Cool, I actually anticipate both matches now.
Mecha Mummy Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 They'll give Eddy vs. Chavo time because it's heavily featured on Smackdown. I'm guessing fifteen minutes. Rey/Noble will probably kick the PPV off, if not be on Heat, and be eight minutes max. Still, now that, combined with HHH/Michaels and the Rumble match, really makes me want to order the PPV.
geniusMoment Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 I actually hope they are short. I want 2 minute intervals not long matches before the rumble.
PLAGIARISM! Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 When you have a HHH match and an hour long match on one card, you can't hold out much hope for Rey/Noble making it out of heat. Chavo/Eddy will get time though, they've treated them both ok really.
nl5xsk1 Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 I can understand why people would complain if a match was short and not given enough time, but who cares if the match is on Heat compared to the actual PPV? It's not like it automatically makes it a lesser match just because it's on cable compared to being on PPV. Hell, it might actually get a few more minutes because it's not competing for PPV time.
Guest Dynamite Kido Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 As long as they give them more than 3 minutes a piece then it'll be fine. Otherwise......meh.
Guest Choken One Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 So we got a 45-60 minute Benoit match (theoretically), 25 minute HBK bumpfest, A likely 15 minute Guerrero Match and Rey/Knoble… Shouldn’t this be the a early lead for greatest ppv ever?
Jack_Bauer Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 The Rumble, Last Man Standing, Eddie/Chavo and Rey/Noble matches make me wanna see the Rumble. Eddie v Chavo will probably get about 15 minutes. I'm guessing that HHH v HBK will be the match of the night.
pochorenella Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 I just hope that with five matches on the card (not counting the Rumble itself) we have at least the minute-and-a-half intervals. It seems unlikely that the Rumble match will be 1 hour long with so many other matches there, Unless the card is almost promo-free or something like that.
Guest Choken One Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 Rumble: 50 LSM: 25 Brock/Holly: 10 Noble/Mysterio-8 Guerreros-12 That leaves PLENTY of time for promos and ads and such. BTW: They gotta have the F.B.I conduct the drawings.
Guest Dynamite Kido Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 I think that the Rumble match itself will be at least a full hour. The Last Man Standing match is pretty much guaranteed to go longer or at least the same time as the match they had on RAW a few weeks back. I don't really see Lesner/Holly going any longer that 15 minutes, and Eddie and Chavo probably won't be any longer than 10 minutes. Surprisingly I hope they go all out and give Mysterio/Noble some decent time though.
Guest Choken One Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 does this mean no eddy in the rumble?

Guest Choken One Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 huh? I had no clue about that one...oh well...Give it 8 minutes as well... It still works.
clean rob Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 I can understand why people would complain if a match was short and not given enough time, but who cares if the match is on Heat compared to the actual PPV? It's not like it automatically makes it a lesser match just because it's on cable compared to being on PPV. Hell, it might actually get a few more minutes because it's not competing for PPV time. The only thing about being given the Heat match is that the crowd knows the match is like a 'warm up' for them (and the arena is often not completely full at that point) so are usually quieter than during the PPV itself, which detracts from the match slightly. Also as the match is on at the end of Heat, you know how long it's going to last, whereas on the PPV you don't. But yeah, given the choice between a 15 minute Heat match for the cruiserweights or a 5 minute PPV match, I'll take Heat. Incidentally, I am really looking forward to the Rumble, as yet there isn't a single pointless, shitty matchup...so what's going to be added on Monday to bring the show down a notch? Cade vs. Rosey? The in-ring return of Rodney Mack? An Austin sing-along segment?

Aero Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 Yeah, I'm really hoping for both Eddie and Chavo to be in the Rumble. And Flair in there as well would be good, too.
Guest Choken One Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 I wanted Eddy to draw #6 and cheat for 45 minutes. They should delay the #3 entry just to tease us to think it's flair and instead it's just a nobody.
clean rob Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 Evolution vs The Dudleyz is pointless because Evolution has beat them 2 times without much trouble. I assume that was added on Raw, which hasn't been on in the UK yet so I haven't caught it. Well, now there's one shitty, pointless match on the card...but Flair will be in it so I'll let it slide.

I only knew because it's on the Royal Rumble site.
notJames Posted January 15, 2004 Report Posted January 15, 2004 I hope they don't have anyone pulling double duty at RR; i.e., Flair defending his tag belt and competing in the Rumble. All it does is keep active wrestlers on the sidelines yet again, causing more morale problems. Sure, guys like Paul London and Lance Storm have no chance at staying in the Rumble for long, but at least they're getting some much needed TV exposure. Plus, they get paid more for PPV appearances, if I'm not mistaken.
